Good hotel with a very accommodating staff. The hotel was not in a very convenient location, but it was only 5 U-bahn stops from Alexanderplatz. There were not many restaurants around except for the few in the little mall next door. It does, however, offer a very comfortable bed, a quiet area, and a great air conditioner.

Location is excellent, you can to the hotel from airport by public transportation easily and U5 takes you to city center in 7-8 minutues. The train comes every 5-9 minutes. The hotel itself is spacious even by US standard in suburbs, the bathroom is big and clean. There are tons of shops and restaurants around. There is a pasrty shop, it is called Bacca something at the U5 entrance which sells excellent pastries, muffin, donuts and all kinds of breads at unbelievable prices. Given the location and the general price levels in Berlin, this hotel is a decent choice. The hotel is located a few meters away from the U5 underground station and in walking distance to the nightlife area of Friedrichshein. There are little shops and bakeries right outside the hotel and a shopping mall with a good supermarket a block away. However, […] it is an extremely basic hotel. The rooms do not have fridges, nor a tea kettle or coffee maker, the TV does not have one single channel in English (no BBC or CNN). While wi-fi is available it costs a fortune, and breakfast is not included in the room rate and they charge 14 euros for it. Cleanliness was not a problem and it is definitely a cheaper option in the area of Berlin. We also want to note that we would stay there again. You just need to be prepared when you stay there. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and the staff is nice. The location is great, in former East Berlin, very close to the Subway which takes you directly to Berlin Alexanderplatz. The hotel is adjacent to an indoor patio with several restaurants and pubs that make a nice place for a goodnight drink.

Our room was facing the inside of the shopping centre which meant no fresh air could come into the room this meant at night especially the air was very warm and dry. The first nights sleep was quite uncomfortable as the thermostat was also set at 30 which we didn't realise till the second day. I would stay again but request a room with a window.

We were disappointed when we arrived at the hotel to find the following that were meant to be included with our room not there: NO in room safe, NO working air conditioning, NO minibar, NO satelite tv, NO working wifi in rooms, NO complimentary toiletries, NO working computer on reception floor. The hotel is clean and is a great price, but ultimately I wouldn't stay there again because of location. A lot of previous reviews said the location was good, so I was surprised by how far away it felt from everything. Very comfortable bed and cover but the pillows were awful, had to ask for extra. No plug in the bath and couldn't get one from reception as receptionist said housekeeping was not available. We only stayed 1 night but was very nice and had plentiful parking available. We decided to get public transport into the city centre which was extremely easy for us who speak very little German. 3 restaurants located next to the hotel which we ate at one (very nice).

Mediocre. Got a static shock from everything I ever touched. Room was fairly badly appointed. Two single duvets instead of one double duvet - on a double bed. Terrible pillows. Overlooking a shopping centre = no fresh air at all. On the Saturday night, as we got ready to go out, the power went off. We went downstairs to reception, to be told by a smirking […] clerk, 'I know the power's off, I turned it off'. No explanation, nothing. Ridiculous. For the money, this hotel is poor value. I wish I had chosen one of the cheaper hotels locally with more character - at least I wouldn't feel that I'd been ripped off. We didn't even get breakfast included. The bar was tiny and overpriced. There wasn't even a kettle/tea and coffee facilities in our room. Do not recommend this hotel. Read more

It was an average hotel...bit worn around the edges...the cleaners arem't very good as there were hairs on bathroom floor and on bed sheets..air conditioning/heater wasn't easy to use..heater didn't actually work...the bathroom is quite nice...the staff were nice..great location for what we wanted....but i would have rather had a nicer place.

Not the highest standard, the interior is a bit old etc. But the bathrooms were new and if you can get a good price, I can definitely recommend this hotel as it is situatuated very close to U-Bahn Samariterstrasse and the cozy area around Boxhagener Strasse. I would book this hotel again.

We stayed here Friday-Sunday in October 2011 on a leisurely weekend, needing to get away from busy London. Staff are very friendly & helpful, room was basic but very clean and extremely quiet, with very comfy new beds. we arrived early and it was not possible to check in before 2.30, despite the fact that check out time was 12 and we were up since 5am. Even after 2.30 we had to remind them to let us in before we got the keys When we got into our room half the accessories where missing, the heating didn't work in one room. This is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, but it is certainly up there. Our first night the room was too hot, so we complained abut the air conditioning. THe second night was much worse: it was at this stage we found the air conditioning for the whole hotel had broken down, and remained defunct for the rest of our stay. The management did supply […] a fan, which helped. Cleaning was perfunctory: our room was cleaned 2 days out of 4. A complaint produced the offer of a glass of wine. The breakfast at 14 € is very poor value: much better meals can be had in the neighbourhood at half the price. The overwhelming impression was that no one cared: the rooms were shabby, the curtains were torn and the beds elderly. The sole reason we didn't check out early was that we had already paid.
