The hotel staff was very attentive, but the room's a/c did not work well..felt hot and sticky in the room! There are no tubs, only showers, so forget a relaxing soak. The food is not good, especially room service! Yuck! Go to Cancun instead, believe me!!

Clean, beautiful beach. Located next to nature preserve so miles of quiet beach to walk on. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Food at restaurants was good, not amazing, but what you would expect for a large buffet and all-inclusive package. We loved it there and would definitely go back again.

My girlfriend and I went to Dreams Palm Beach in February for a week. The weather was great...the staff at the resort were super friendly and the room was clean. The food was very good; we ate at all of the restaurants except the Mexican one (as the host was very rude...only rude person that we found there though!). The activities were fun; Spanish lessons with Gasolina, water aerobics with James Bond aka 007 and Zumba with Cuchi...all great fun! The only negatives were...the TV didn't work ( we didn't care as we were never in the room!) we did lose power briefly and the water didn't work for an hour or so one evening. The room smelled a little musty when we entered but once we had been there a day or two the smell seemed to dissipate. This property truly is all-inclusive and it was possible to get food or drink at any time of the day or night (4am!). The buffet was a bit bland, but tabasco sauce or A1 were usually available somewhere to add a little flavor. Around what I assumed to be the "quiet" pool/kids/activity pool, there were outdoor speakers that play downtempo house/lounge music, which for us was a plus. Two of the bars are in the pool closet to the beach, so sometimes you had to walk/wait in line - but there were a lot of waiters around willing to grab drinks at any time. The chairs were comfortable and the overall atmosphere was great. The beach was our favorite area. You had to move a little through the day (palm trees shift their shadows over you), but nothing beats being on blue water. And yes, there was seaweed - in case you missed it, you're right on the Atlantic Ocean. But there was a crew cleaning seaweed from the beach from sunrise to set (literally). We also found, if you walk about 3 minutes down the beach the water was even more brilliant and lacking a lot of the seaweed. A few years ago we stayed at Dreams La Romana property, and it was ok. So this year, we decided to come back to Dreams in Punta Cana. We stayed from 27 December to 3 January and hotel was clearly over booked. It was hard to find a free beach chair by the pool after 8 am. The property is small and has two pools. Both pools were full with kids, splashing, […] jumping, having a good time. If you are looking for a more intimate couples experience, this is not for you! The only hot tub on the property could only be used by the VIP type guests. So unless you upgrade or by the package, you will not be able to use that one and only hot tub. Overall the food was ok, but selection was limited. We were asking for a different set of pillows for a couple of days, but never got what we were asking for. The service was just not great. The biggest disappointment was their spa. I booked myself for a massage and a manicure. Massage was ok,but the manicure was the worst experience i had in a long time. Seems like the person had no clue what she was doing. So avoid their spa and save your money. Overall, a big disappointment, we will not be returning to Dreams. Read more

I traveled to DR plenty of times before. For us going with kids, all-inclusive is a better option. Generally the hotel grounds are nice, the staff is pleasant but most don't speak English and service is always too long, the food is ok at best. With this hotel I was pleasantly surprised. They have a kids club for those traveling with children that's opened till 10pm. The pools are gorgeous. You can set lounge chairs in the water. The beach was clean for the exception of the water even though the seaweed was cleaned daily, but that's beach in Punta Cana no matter where you stay. What I didn't like were the bathrooms in the rooms. The sink area was opened to the entire room and the toilet was through a matted glass swing door in the corner. I'm hoping they would do something about that, at least install a normal door. The spa was under construction that they said was due to finish in a couple of weeks and hotel next door is also under repair, but we only saw the workers, never heard them. Read more

We were in building 3 facing the Preferred Club pool. We loved the location! We also would recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club. Oh, and you could eat at the Seaside Grill for breakfast and lunch which opened up some more restaurant options. The only down side was that there was a water & power outage on thursday. Not sure if this happens often or if it was a fluke but by 5:00, the bathrooms were getting rough and the guests were restless. We took Saona Island excursion and the outback safari. However, the hotel is starting to feel dated and because of its smaller size, does not offer the variety of amenities and services I am used to at similarly priced hotels in Mexico and Jamaica. Don't make any arrangements thru them, one would think going thru hotel would be safe? they hike up the price then pocket the difference. Tours- Prieto tours are amazing at the resort, they are honest and very reasonable we got hotel transfer $10 per person. Food- is good, nothing to die for in my opinion, since we usually eat out at Capital Grill, Davio's, etc in Philadelphia Hotel water - they provide you with bottle water, use it to brush your teeth! That water is not filtered and it smells, also try not to get water in your mouth while showering! Room- regular deluxe rooms are comparable to holiday inn, preffered rooms are much nicer but still there are no carpets you always must wear your sandals. Spa- the current spa is NOT relaxing and romantic. Lot of noise, people talking loud, you can hear everyone conversation, there are about 4 rooms and they divided by sheets or piece of sheets rock. The restaurants a la cart they have are excellent, in particular the sea side grill the T-bone steak it was just perfect, ask for Tito he will make sure you have a great time at his table. Girls at the SPA are great with the massages but terrible giving facials. Tours were great I recommend "la Isla Saona" and for sure go to "Catalina Island" very different but both are beautiful. It is not a four star Resort by US standards. Get ready for the staff to constantly try to sell things to you. The resort allows sales men that beg you to buy cheap tourist items. In short, this resort matched our highest expectations to be the best for our money, but there were a few negatives too. Positive - Activities and bouncing at the same people made it very interesting (very nice mix of Americans/Europeans and others). The service was just excellent - it did compensate for other things that could have been right in the first place, but overall - we give it the highest marks. The beach was not as clean as it could be, overall it was great. The food at the beach was very unhealthy - but saving the day for the hungry, and no matter how careful you are with what you eat, you might still get some fries or a hot dog. Another very negative point - when we arrived, they gave us $200 coupons and told us they had a breakfast for us and a 90 min. presentation. We didn't know if that was a part of our package or not, so we went. It turned out to be a time share presentation. Having been on such presentations, and not wanting anything to do with time share, we just let the 90 min. lapse and told them we had to go. We're a family of three, with an 11-month old baby and my husband and I definitely felt as if it were a 3-star experience at best. The room we had, while sufficient, was nothing spectacular and it had a small bathroom (no tub) and bare minimum toiletries. We had to call in for a few things, room service took a long time, and we ended up going down to […] the front desk. Was promised a crib for our baby at check-in which never arrived and the phone in our room worked only half the time so we ended up deciding to go without the crib. The food at the World Cafe was not good. They definitely compromised on quality of food for quantity, and vegetarian options were extremely limited. My family is pescatarian and so we fortunately could eat seafood as well, but it would have been terrible if we had decided to go all vegetarian. Service was polite, but not exactly efficient. Front desk personnel looked slightly overworked and had trouble remembering room numbers when we said them, and room service sent our food to the wrong room once. Overall it was an OK experience, but nothing special. Would not have been my first choice, but was attending a wedding at the resort. Read more

excellent stay in oct 2012. Staff is amazing. You really feel that they are part of one big family and you are a part of that family throughout your stay. Food from buffet and al a carte restaurants is great, we were very pleased. The best is you do not have to make reservations,you will get in to any restaurant you want, you may just have to wait up […] to an hour during the busy time of the evening. Thats ok though, we just went to the lobby bar! Room was clean and nicely decorated. Just being picky I would recommend them to refurbish the tile in the bathroom and/or overall room. The entertainment staff were amazing. The shows and activities they provide for adults and kids is abundant throughout the day. One suggestion is to take the beach walk at 930 available every morning which takes you down the beach to where they provide swimming with the dolphins. They really let you interact a lot with the dolphins if you actually do the activity from the excursion desk and would suggest doing this experience. Lastly, in regards to the beach itself, it was nice and they did a good job cleaning up the sea grass...most days. It is a losing battle I think but the beach was still pretty. Some guests that have stayed in punta cana before said they have seen nicer and more turquoise beaches. Im assuming they were more on bavarro beach perhaps. We had a great time here on our honeymoon! The beach is great, the pools are great, the resort is great. However, the food is only mediocre. The activities that they did each day were fun too! And the entertainment staff were great too!! The only negative thing I would say about it is that the second that you get to the lobby to check in you are pushed […] over to the "VIP Services" which is basically trying to get you to buy time shares. The staff there is really annoying and hassle you. We agreed to go the next day, when we showed up they told us that they needed to reschedule for the next day. The next day we decided that we no longer wanted to go. We were getting phone calls to our room starting at 8:30am then we were hunted down while eating asking us why we didn't go and if we could go another day. We finally gave in and said we would go the next day. Well they wanted to see your credit card to see what kind you were using. When we said that we didn't bring a credit card and that we were only using cash on vacation they asked us, "then how will you pay a down payment?" Then they said not to worry about going because we would need a credit card to purchase what they were trying to sell. I'm sorry, we were on our honeymoon the last thing we wanted to worry about was being hassled to buy a time share! But overall, it's a good place. I could not be more pleased with our experience at Drams Pam Beach in Punta Cana, DR. From the moment we stepped on the resor, we were welcomed warmly by the staff (and the couple we were there to attend their wedding) and treated like royalty. The pools were awesome- it seemed like the two htspots were the walk up pool bar, and the water volleyball […] net. The staff were all extremely polite and kind, and seemed to really appreciate my husband and I's attempt to speak broken Spanish. There were many english speaking staff members, which was nice. I went on two excursions- the first was a snorkeling trip, and it was an amazing experience for my first time. We had large group, and they accomodated us wonderfully. The second was a SCUBA diving trip where my husband and I performed 2 dives. The water was amazing, but to be completely honest, we were a bit bored by the dives- a lot of seeing the same stuff over and over. The Spa experience was great. We had massages while we were there, and took advantage of the opportunity to have them performed on the beach in a little cabana. Heaven, I tell you! So, so relaxing, the breeze was amazing, and the massage therapists were wonderful. I also had my hair done for the wedding, and it turned out great. The good... Room was clean and air condition worked well. The beds are comfortable and shower pressure, perfect. Grounds are well maintained. My massage at the Spa was great. There are tons of seats and umbrellas at the pool and on the beach. They appear to work hard at having a lot of activities planned. The food was often cold and tasteless (especially at the buffet) and drinks (including fruit juices) seemed watered down. Pool looked cloudy and often had stuff floating in it. Despite the soft white sand, there was often trash on the beach and there is a seaweed bed just off shore, so there are large amounts of seaweed at the waters edge. Mini bar is poorly stocked and had to call everyday, but one to have it restocked. The bedside clock, dvd player, and mini fridge did not work and the hairdryer literally fell apart into 2 pieces in my hand. The hotel rooms need to be remodeled as they smell of humidity and the beach is by far the worst in Punta Cana. Many locals were honest with us as they did not want us to leave with the image we had. Based on my previous vacations to the DR, this was a very disappointing resort. I was expecting a luxury resort, but instead got a mid-grade resort. For the most part, the staff was friendly and helpful, but a lot of the waiters and waitresses gave absolutely terrible service. As a resort that prides itself on its "excellent" service, they need drastic […] improvement. During our 11 day stay, the minibar was re-stocked maybe 5 times without me having to call. And even when I called TWICE in the same day, it wasn't restocked. After having a horrible experience in our first room, we were upgraded to the "preferred club". Although their website claims that the preferred club offers premium upgrades for the minibar, it had the same beverages as the regular room, if/when they decided to stock it. I understand that the entertainment staff's job is to get the guests involved in activities on the resort, but they get a little too pushy. The one that goes by the name "Gasolina" was by far the most annoying. He was funny at first, but after hearing him walk around the resort yelling at the top of his voice "WOW!" and "OH MY GOD!" over and over in a stereotypical "valley-girl" accent, he visibly irritated everyone around him. The bellhops did not help with the luggage as we were departing, but only offered AFTER we had wheeled them to our shuttle. Also, the smell of sewer gas was present all over the resort. The only complaint we had was that all of the pools closed at 7pm. and they're was no music by the pools ! The beach did have alot of seaweed, but they had employees cleaning it daily. Great Resort! Staff was very friendly and attentive. The only time people do not have a great time is when they do not have the right attitude! You are on vacation, enjoy your stay instead of complaining that you see few clouds, they don't control Mother Nature! This was our second stay at this Resort and we would go back!
