The stay was good. Rooms are small, tight and dated. Be careful of the Breakfast staff. They will try to charge you more than once even after showing receipt.

This hotel is very well located, just 1 minute to metro line 8. So its very easy to move around the city. The hotel has a good breakfast buffet, most of it its asian style, but some western food its also available. I found several staff members that spoke english, this was not a problem, they were all super friendly and always trying to help. I stayed […] in an executive non smoking floor. However, there was no WIFI in rooms, only wired internet, my last day there was a WIFI signal, they said they were fixing it. However, both of them were very slow. Impossible to do a voip phone call. The beds are Chinese style, very hard for my taste. Regardless that I was in a non smoking floor, people would still smoke in the floor and the entire room would smell like smoke. Its a little far from the airport, almost a 50 minute drive. I would defenitely recommend this hotel if you are traveling for business to the Pazhou area. With convenience of nearby restaurants, shopping malls, and public transportation, this hotel is worth staying in. The Pool and fitness gym are hard to get to. You have to go through a maze like route. Be careful not to get lost.

My room on the 11th floor was musty with worn, stained carpet. The television was very small. The room temp was difficult to control. Breakfast was basic. Shower was old style shower in tub combination. I will seek alternate hotel for next Canton Fair.

Overall Rosedale hotel is strategically located nearby shopping mall, IT centre, fast food chains and local food outlets. Also, just outside the hotel there is underground Metro train station which makes travelling around the whole of Guangzhou so easy and conevenient. This was a one night stop on our way from Hong Kong into China. We're a family of 4 and were able to sleep fairly comfortably in one room. Our kids are both under 12 and the beds are somewhere between twin size and double size. For longer stays with a family I'd suggest 2 rooms. The rooms were great - good size, nice furniture, full tub, shower, plenty […] of hot water (all important when selecting a hotel in China). Overall service was good. The staff speak enough English to take care of basic needs - billing, extra towels, etc. - and are very willing to help. Several floors were non-smoking which we especially appreciate because of the kids. The free wired Internet was great and they provide the cable in your room. My only complaint was that the A/C in our room was out. Air was coming out, but it the unit was obviously not cooling. I called the front desk after 11pm (admittedly a bit late) and they never came. However, they keep the building fairly cool so we were comfortable most of the night. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants next to the hotel as well as a Pizza Hut and a KFC. If you need more of a western food fix than that you're going to have to travel a bit farther. If you are willing to do the Guangzhou subway, the Changgang station (line 2) is right next to the hotel. The subway will get you to any number of railway stations as well as to the airport. DON'T make the mistake of using the Jiangnanxi station even though the hotel address is on that road. Read more

i went to guangzhou to visit an exhibition being held at the Pazhou complex. The location was the amazing! The subway station entrance is less than 20 meters from this hotel, mcdonalds is located at a building adjacent to the hotel, seven eleven is located at the hotel entrance, pizza hut and KFC are right next door and there is a beautiful shopping […] street in the same vicinity. My mom and I were getting out of the cab and the attendants there just looked at us.... they didn't even bother giving us a hand with our luggage. We had to drag it in ourselves. None of the 3 concierge staff i encountered during my stay spoke any english whatsover. None of the 4 reception staff i dealt with spoke much english either. As a frequent visitor to the Canton fair complex, I've stayed here before, and will again. It's exceptionally well located in GZ - on one hand, it's literally right on the doorstep of Changang metro station, which is on line 8 direct to the fair. Changang is also on line 2, which can connect you anywhere, especially the trendy river district. So train […] travel is very cheap, fast, and convenient. The hotel itself is very clean, the rooms are reasonably large and well appointed. The two areas I'd suggest need improvement are the beds and the breakfasts. The beds can be very hard. The breakfasts are substantial but uninspiring, with the same food every day. Fortunately there's a dim sum restaurant next to the hotel which serves cheap, authentic dim sum - fantastic! The rosedale hotel is by far one of the mos timpressive looking in the local area. Its a welcome sight after travelling around the local town which is polar opposite of teh marbelised floors and stairwells that you are surround by as you walk through the massive glass doors into the huge, classy foyer. Unfortunatly, all staff are rude - racist - unhelpful. Summarised […] simply - Walking in at 11pm after a long flight, we get ignored at the check in desk for 5 minutes. When served, done so in a rude, unengaging manner and our room keys being literally thrown towards us without saying a word. Gym - old, but useable. Pool - (Outside only) Wouldnt trust the water, no matter how clean it 'looks' The food - well, lets just say thank god there is a Mcdonalds, Pizza hut and KFC within walking distance.. although dont be surprised by the prawn burger in KFC or the snails in Pizza hut #no word of a lie!# All in all, its the best hotel in that particular Guangzhou region. Its nice to get a real 'taste' of the Chinese culture as this is most certianly not a tourist attraction! its a short 15 min subway trip from the major trade fair complex in panzhou and the underground system has English writing for each station, so even the most typical foreigner should be able to not get too lost. I like this hotel because it's overall good and location is good. It's just above MRT station. If you are traveling to HK as well, there are buses just in front of the hotel. the only thing is there's no free wifi in the rooms, it's only available at the lobby. i'll definitely go back to this hotel.

Check-in into the hotel was good and smooth except that although we had booked a room with a king bed we were told that there were no rooms left with king beds. Surprise!!! We get upgraded to the executive suite without even asking. The surrounding area is great with many shops inlcuing Pizza Hut, McDonalds and KFC right next to the hotel. We lost our camera on the first day itself, stolen by the shop keeper himself when we turned around to look at other things. Problem is when you ask them they deny it or pretend that they do not understand English. So be careful it gets worse when you visit the Guangzhou Shopping Street.
