"Ideal for train station"

Lovely room at front of hotel on third floor, bathroom had a cracked sink, no fridge, very quiet compared to Paris, lots of restaurants and cashpoints nearby, breakfast good with lots of choice. Don't miss son et luminere at rivers edge at 22:00 hrs.
"Good place in Strasbourg"
08/19/14 Juker-Brx Brussels, Belgium
I come a lot to Strasbourg and know a number of hotels in town. I am surprised this one is not further up in the list of tripadvisor. The location is great, the beds are very good, bathrooms in good shape. Staff is professionell and friendly. The hotel is clean and I find the rooms quiet. There are rooms for wheelchair users. Nice bar for a glass in the evening, decent breakfast. Expensiv, but so are all hotels in Strasbourg.
"One night stay"

We were travelling from lake Garda via Milan and basle and stayed in this hotel one night. Only 100 yds to the railway station and good access to the tram system. Good size room clean and no noise at all. Very good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast. Hotel in need of refurbishment of entrance carpet. Would stay there again if in the area.

Our group had overnight stay. We were travelling from Italy to Paris by train so this was a stop over as it was very convenient for the station. The room we were allocated was comfortable, if rather cramped and had no outside window. Our window was an internal one which looked over the reception atrium. We usually sleep with windows open but found this wasn't an option so reluctantly used the air-conditioning which was surprisingly very quiet and we actually had a very good night's sleep. This hotel has a very nice breakfast room. We had a latish breakfast yet found there was still plenty of choice. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful.
"good for city break"

Stayed 1 night excellent location ~ room clean if a little small the breakfast was first class would stay again, very near the old centre and ideal if travelling by train, the only problem was the hotel bar closed early with no drinks available,
"4 star price, 1 star experience"

Second and last time staying in this so called 4 star hotel: both rooms were extremely small, and the current room additionally has no air condition (apparently it was decided to cut the heating and air condition, as April is neither hot nor cold...) with the result that the room is 30 degrees. The "solution" offered was that to leave the windows open but since they face the internal covered courtyard as well as the hotel corridor, this would mean enjoying the noise and smell of the bar/restaurant and all the phone calls of the reception, as well as having all guests passing by looking into the room. Secondly, the door has a 3 cm gap between the door frame, so anyone can actually peek inside. At the going rate, this is really quite a bizarre experience, and can only recommend that other hotels, even Mercures, are chosen, since this one is very badly in need of substantial renovation.
"Not bad but could be susbtantially better ..."

Many positive aspects : convenient location opposite central station (the area is safe), impressive & well maintained art deco building looking beautiful in the evening, attentive staff (all my requirements were kindly met), cosy lobby and atrium, fresh and diversified breakfast in a nice room ... Many negative aspects : although large in size, the room was really dated. The bathroom had a broken sink and the overall aspect was very poor. Very confortable mattress but the room was far from cosy. Definitely needs proper update to deserve a 4**** rating. It is adequate for short business stays but I would never use this hotel as a base fore a romantic getaway unless they have their rooms re-done.
"Well located opposite train station"

Good value, only stayed one night. Smallish room, clean but dated, hotel could do with updating. Easy walk to everywhere, great place to visit we loved it, beatiful buildings and cathedral one of the best. Would have liked more time there.

This was an overnight stop on our way back to London from Italy. I can't comment on the value as were part of a Great Rail Journeys group but it was a great location opposite Strasbourg's modern Gare Central and a short walk to all the beautiful buildings of Strasbourg. Our room was small but comfortable with complimentary water and a kettle. It was pouring with rain outside so we headed to the small friendly bar in reception with our "Happy Hour" vouchers and had quite a party with our fellow tour members with very inexpensive drinks. Were up early the next day to explore the city and enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet with plenty of hot food and a large array of Continental meats and cheeses with everything being constantly replenished. Would like to return to this establishment.

Had an excellent night at this hotel. We were in a Privilege room which included a number of soft drinks and bottled water in an in room fridge. The hotel has free WiFi and it works well. It is very close to the Gare Central. When you exit the train station just look to your 10 o'clock position and there it is. For those of us from North America, turning on the room lights could be a challenge as you must put your room card in a slot to make the lights work. Overall, we were very pleased.
