Our stay was an overnight upon arriving in san Diego. The hotel has been renovated to Holiday Inn Express standards. The rooms are small by todays standards, but were very nice. The hotel was nice, newer, and the staff was excellent and accommodated our request to be moved to another floor. One surprise what the room was so small, only a walking path on each side of a king size bed. I've never experienced a hotel room this small before. Would caution booking this hotel only based on size of the room.

The rooms were so tiny that my husband and I could not walk by each other without one of us getting on the bed or going in the bathroom. The bathroom is so tiny, it's surprising that we could shut the door while on the commode. The bed was so hard we hardly slept a wink. We left after one night.

Of the 4 nights we stayed here, our room was cleaned ONCE. When we got back to our room the final night before checking out we noticed the "privacy" tag was hanging from the door, even though we checked specifically to see that it wasn't there before we left for the day (since our room hadn't been cleaned the day before). On a positive note, the man at the front desk was kind and seemed embarrassed and very apologetic for what seemed to be a negligent employee, although there was really nothing that could be done at the time. The hotel looks pretty fair since it is fairly new. The construction is lacking. The waste water piping was installed in ABS plastic instead of cast iron which is normally used for hotels. Because of this every time someone in the rooms above flush the toilet or shower, it is loud in your room. Bad decision to cut corners in this manner.

Amazed with the variety of the complimentary breakfast it was delicious with omelets,bacon,biscuits & gravy and more a step up from the norm of danishes & coffee. Okay. Clean. Noisy surroundings. Could not shut the bathroom door if you wanted to be inside the bathroom. Parking was harsh not well thought out. Staff was very friendly. All in all not worth the price.

This hotel charges more than most, and does NOT offer a breakfast. The pool was not kid-friendly, the two guys at the front desk laughed when we asked about breakfast, and/or restaurants close by. The beds were hard! I would not recommend this hotel, and I would not stay there again.

Pros - Recently renovated, furnishings were updated and room was very clean. Nice, new unbroken mattresses. Off of a fairly quiet street. Room doors 'slam' less than most, which is good for those who don't sleep like the dead. Cons - Smallish rooms for a 'suite'. Breakfast was a disgrace compared to other HIE. Sat morning they were out of sausage by […] 8:30, the pancake maker was broken, they were out of every kind of cereal except cheerios and they don't offer any fruit. Tables were filthy, did not want to eat by them. Sunday was only better because the tables weren't as dirty, perhaps because there was no meat, pancakes or cereal other than cheerios being offered. Check in isnt til 3pm. Elevator was out of order. The pool is really really tiny. Street is noisy. The Bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water.

Check in time was at 3pm, I've arrived around 330pm and was told that "they didn't NOT know which rooms were cleaned yet" I had to wait another half hour, then after I checked into my room, a worker came knocked then entered my room, to see if there was someone staying in the room. Not very organized!

You get a teeny, tiny room. Literally, you walk in to a split bathroom (toilet/shower on your left and sink on your right) and have no more than 20 feet before you hit the other wall. Very uncomfortable for relaxing, with only the bed to sit on while you read, etc. The TV was fine, but wish we had had a TV Guide. The only restaurant within walking distance […] (that's worth eating at) is (the original) Rubio's. In-N-Out is either a healthy walk or 3 minute drive. We stayed here because we had stayed at a holiday inn about 5 miles away from here n it was a great hotel. But this hotel was not good at all. the room had a dirty towel in the bathroom the bathtube was dirty with feet marks on the floor, there was a full can of soda next to the bed. This place was a good place to stay. just car sales around it. Not a bad area. very clean rooms and nice staff. the parking is small though if you have a big truck. but fits cars just fine. Getting to seaworld was very easy from here.

My wife and I check-in around 9pm, we were upset because issues with our delayed flight, when we got to our room and after getting ready to watch TV and relax, we try to turn on the TV and didn't work, we called the front desk and a maintenance person came to our room in a few minutes, he explained to us that hotel just finished renovations and that […] our TV just needed some quick programing. he was there for about 5 minutes, we were hungry, so we ask him for a restaurant and he recommended a Sushi place acroos the street. we went there, THE best sushi ever. we'll come back to this hotel in our next trip.
