The hotel is located on the quieter and nicer end of Carolina Beach and the staff is incredibly friendly. At first glance the chic colors and modern touches of the hotel are clean and cool, however none of the touches are high quality and the hotel feels a bit dirty. For example, the cushions on the rooftop lounge are stained, as is the grout on the […] bathroom floors in the rooms. The mattresses in the rooms are rather uncomfortable and low quality. This hotel is a little too trendy for itself. The rooms are crazy small, and you can hear the 'rooftop club' music until at least 3am like it is in your own room. Bathroom/shower was quite good, room pretty lame with weird black lights behind a curtain (?) covering one wall of the room. My husband and I stayed at the San Juan Water and Beach Club for 10 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel was wonderful with a perfect location and fabulous staff. We plan on coming back for our 5 year aniversary and cannot wait! We fully recommend this hotel!

What a cool hotel! Didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. It's an older building, but there were so many positives that we didn't care. From the minute you get in the elevator with a waterfall wall until you turn on the lights (some were blue) in your room, all you can think is, "cooooool." We got there fairly early and our room wasn't ready (understandably) but they checked our bags and took my cell phone number and called me when the room was ready. We spent the time walking up and down the street and enjoying a local bar and grill that overlooks the ocean. (I highly recommend the coco loco at 3rd Base.) After getting our room, we headed up to the rooftop pool and it was just breathtaking. We definitely will be staying here again if our travels take us to San Juan. Read more

I've stayed here twice, now, and will definitely go back again. It's a very nice and modern hotel with a great location. The rooftop bar/restaurant is a great place to hang out and has an amazing view. This place would be great for a romantic getaway.

This is a great place to stay! The rooms are a little funky with mood lighting in guest rooms but the views of the ocean make it easy to take. The rooms are minimalist, and the there is a lack of power outlets. would love to come back soon.

Not a great hotel. The location close to a great beach should be the only reason for staying here. The hotel itself seemed low-budget. The elevator wasn't working.

The rooms lack closet and drawer space. The cable in the room kept going out. The charge too much for extended checkout. The hotel is right on the beach!! It's about 20 minute cab ride to old San Juan ....about $30.00 each way - there were six of us so not bad but a little expensive for two. Overall it was a nice stay.

My best buddy and I headed for the San Juan Water & Beach Club Hotel in celebration of our joint 50th birthdays. We just wanted a few days away from the jobs, kids, and stress to unwind and "hang". The beds were absolutely to die for comfy...as were the robes! We had a "semi view" and could see the beautiful Caribbean sea right outside our window. The staff on the beach were super accomodating...setting up our chairs and umbrella each day and bringing us surprise "treats". Only thing I would warn: there is no storage space in the room. You will literally be living out of your suitcase. That really didn't phase us, as we loved everything else about the hotel. The staff was very pleasant and friendly but there are many services lacking in the hotel such as for example a bus service at least once a day to old San Juan considering the high taxi rates to go back and forth. outside the hotel there are no seats while waiting for a taxi or something. the food at the hotel was normal nothing exceptional.

Great hotel for a short stay and off season. It's in carolina not san juan so it's about 15-20$ cab ride to san juan( Would have preferred a closer hotel). Not a lot of activities going around the hotel. Super friendly staff. Great views. Small hotel but super chic. Enjoyed my mini vk very well

I was very happy with this hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a short getaway and had a great time. Each and every staff member we interacted with was helpful and friendly. There seemed to be a lot of couples (of all ages) staying at the hotel and some families. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, including families, but with the caveat that […] there aren't a ton of activities designed for young children. If you have mature kids who want to relax (i.e. teenagers), this could be a great place for you. I loved to contemporary decor and cool vibe - a lot more fun than a traditional hotel chain (i.e. the Intercontinental). There were only two negatives: the gym equipment could use a update and there was a lot of seaweed on the beach. I don't know if there is anything the hotel can do about this, but if there is, they may want to look into it, since it didn't seem to be a problem all over Carolina beach. The Water Club was great for what I was looking for. It's a sexy boutique-y hotel, steps from the beach, with spectacular service. My partial ocean view (801) was great and was set-up perfectly to soak in the view. The blue hue and constant noise of the AC wore on us after a few days and the room did show signs of wear. Though it is a good sized room, […] it is minimally furnished and there is very little drawers (2 - one small, one larger) built into the wall closet. Be prepared to keep your clothes in your suitcases if you are staying longer than a weekend, like we did. The bathroom was basic, and the shower had good water pressure. The service is what really makes this hotel! Most employees are cheerful and willing to help you. The beach service was through the roof! (Victor is awesome!) I always had a towel, chair, umbrella, and drink in my hand. (Alexandra, mil gracias!) Also, the section of the beach is perfect, though I would recommend they rake the dead seaweed every morning.
