"Second class room"
Booked through Hotels.com and paid the "rack" rate. Room on the second floor looked out over the roof. Expressed dissatisfaction to the front desk - and management and was moved to a worse room looking out over the roof with a hallway in the "view'. ""Bucket List" that makes others pale"
The "Captain" welcomed us aboard the speedboat to the golf course, Joe, our forecaddy, became our guide to a perfect round, enhanced by a late lunch overlooking the lake. Followed with a trip to the spa...where appointments were surprisingly concluded with huge strawberries and champagne. Ended the night at Beverly's...an extraordinary dining experience […] on the 7th floor of the Hotel' lake tower. Then off to restful sleep on custom-made beds, but only after we enjoyed the picture window view of the lake as a thunderstorm rolled in, lighting the sky with mother nature's fireworks. Up the next day as Joel delivered a light breakfast in the start of another sunny perfect day. This is our new favorite destination and first choice for a much longer trip. We enjoyed smiles and courtesy from everyone on the staff, and relaxed comraderie with other guests enjoying a like experience. Get one of the many "packages" and upgrade to the Tower...it's worth it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful hotel in beautiful location. Unfortunately my room was just below an upper level restaurant / meeting rooms. I was awakened both nights by noises that seemed to relate to cleaning or maintenance. Disappointing based on room rate on a summer holiday weekend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a luxury hotel so it is what one would expect for its services, facilities, and amenities - which is that there are no complimentary services and all offerings are pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This place is amazing."
This place is amazing. One of the best places I've ever stayed. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were always one step ahead and willing to go out of their way. The grounds were some of the best kept. It was extremely clean, from the golf course and infinity pool. The food at the golf pro shop to the fine dining at Beverly's was also amazing. […] I can't name one negative thing. The beds were super comfortable, and the products (lotion, soap, etc. were also amazing and I typically don't like the free products). I only wish I could have stayed longer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A must visit in Northern Idaho!"
The hotel/resort is lovely and located on a lake, surrounded by pine and other NW trees & foliage. The views are superb, restaurants are excellent and if one is a golfer, there is a beautiful golf course. We visited the golf course, for breakfast, and to see the most unusual putting green in the US, which is located in the water! The one complaint I […] would offer, is that the signage for the restaurant, Beverly's, is very poor. We knew it was on the 7th floor, but once one gets off the elevator..... the restaurant not to be seen, nor are there any signs directing you to the restaurant. After wandering down a very long hall, checking conference rooms and even a kitchen, you turn a corner and there it is. We almost left. However, the food is excellent and the views are wonderful....... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Had to change rooms in the middle of the night due to power outages; then there was no hot water in my new room the next morning. Had to go to another hotel just to take a shower for an early morning meeting (which I barely made), since they didn't have another room "in the class [I] had reserved." What? "Resort on the lake."
Room was on the smallish side, but furnished pretty nicely. The outdoor entrance threw us, considering the price. I guess you could say we were in the economy area of the resort, although it wasn't advertised that way. The restaurant on the main floor (Dockside) was expensive, service was not great, and the food was below standard.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you book the cheaper rate, expect a room that's no different than a motor-inn. Room was entered from the outside after a long, strange route down a hall, through a service-like hall and then outside. "Great hotel but avoid the freight elevator"
Everything worked out great, except for one thing. Our room was next to the staff freight elevator, which was quite noisy. For the money we paid, I was disappointed in that. "Very romantic and relaxing"
Beautiful setting, the hotel was immaculate, comfortable, and romantic. Very fairly priced as well. The one negative is that the reception told me both my credit cards were declined when there was nothing wrong with either one of them. So the credit card systems were obviously kind of broken, and she was fairly condescending. "Great resort experience in a beautiful setting!"
The only complaint we have is that the TV satellite service was down for 1 1/2 days (half of our stay time). This was on a weekend when we wanted to watch NFL football, so we were very disappointed. Other than that, our stay was great. And our golfing experience was awesome - We golfed twice while we were there.Genuine Expedia guest review
""Limited view" - of the elevator"
Our room was "limited view". Our view was limited to a view of the elevator. Do not let them book you in to room 204! The room is just opposite the elevator and you have to keep the blinds closed at all times for any privacy. There was no other window and it was like being in a closet the whole time. It was the worst hotel room we have ever stayed in. […] We tried to change but they told they were all booked. We even offered to pay more. I do not believe that the hotel was totally booked. We were most disappointed with our stay there. If we had not prepaid for the reservation we probably would have left early. One day we had to ask them to make up our room 3 times when no one had touched the room by 4:00 PM. It is a lovely location that was spoiled by our stay at this hotel. The hotel in of itself was very nice. Great views from the dining rooms. I booked a room that was described as having a balcony, but it did not. It was the worst room I have ever stayed in. It was on the second floor and the outside wall/window was adjacent to the indoor pool. The room reeked of chlorine and the noise from the indoor pool echoed from […] 8am to 9pm. "Not a good value"
We had a standard room with a King bed on the 6th floor. It faced east and only had shutters so you were up with the sun. Our room was very small ... about 11'x20' (half the size of our motor coach). You also paid for parking and it was not convenient. It took 45 min for our luggage to be brought to our room. Having to open the refrigerator with a key […] every time does not make you feel at home. "Generally good with 2 exceptions..."
The hotel's new look was very nice and the room was very nice. We ate at the restaurant (not Whispers) and enjoyed the 18 ft salad bar. The view from the restaurant and the room was very nice. We walked around town which was very close to the hotel. There were two things that could be better: 1) the check in lady who was not very friendly nor was she […] willing to be helpful and 2) guests needed to take a "shuttle" to the outdoor pool located near the golf courses. "Love this place!"
Love this hotel, very beautiful. They gave us a free upgrade and our room was very spacious. The lounges "Whispers" and "Beverlies" are top notch with excellent views. The pool is very large and there are two hot tubs. Dockside restaurant is tasty and has good service. I had family members that went on the boat cruise and others who went to the spa, […] they really enjoyed both of these. This is an excellent hotel and the location can't be beat. I have to say this is the worst place I have ever stayed at. The first thing I should mention is that you are charged for EVERYTHING including parking and local calls, this was somewhat expected at a resort so I was somewhat ok with this at the beginning. I was more upset when the person who ran the parkade informed me it’s 20.00 per day to stay but […] if you get the valet parking it’s free. Yea…like that makes sense. For the record it’s 23.00 if you want someone to drive your car 20 feet. The big issues with my stay were the amount I paid and the poor quality of the room. first off the toilet didn’t function properly and every time we flushed we had to remove the back portion to fix it, I called the front desk and nobody bothered to show up. The next issue was the shower, there was an issue with the temperature as it kept changing and because the tub was so small I had to physically leave the shower to prevent being burned. The last big issue with the room was the temperature. It didn’t really matter what you did with the thermostat the room temperature remained the same. Lastly, The room I purchased was also completely different looking then the picture, the bed was a full instead of a queen. With the combination of the quality of the room and the amount I paid to stay and park I give this hotel 1 out of 5. I will never be returning and will make sure to let all of my friends know of my experience if anybody decides to take a trip to Coeur d’Alene. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel itself is beautiful and the grounds are immaculate however, the service level provided by staff at check in was very poor. We were shocked when they couldn't answer basic questions about parking, re-booking, and room rates; the man on duty tried to laugh it off saying he usually worked nights. We expected much more considering how much we […] paid to stay there. We were also dissapointed in the service level at the Cedar's Restaurant which is affiliated with the resort and recommended by the concierge. That aside we did take advantage of the spa, which was amazing, the golf course, also amazing, and the lake side pool. The staff at each of these facilities were great and we were very happy with the experience. We stayed at the resort on the first night of our holiday before carrying on and again on the last night as we made our way home. We found our room for the last night on Expedia and were dissapointed by the disparity between levels of room. The partial lake front room that we stayed in on our first night was beautiful and very modern, however the room we stayed in on the last night was obviously one of the first areas opened at the hotel and was small, smelled musty, and the front door didn't close properly. Not worth what we paid. If you stay, make sure you ask what room you are staying in. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I visited this resort on business, beautiful from the word go. My room was on the 10th floor, the view of the lake was lovely. The layout of my room might be my favorite ever. It had a step down sitting area, balcony with a view of the lake, a large dressing/sink area outside of the tub/shower/toilet. The only negative about this stay would be the food from the restaurant. Very blah, you are expecting the food to be WOW like the building and views but not so much. Wont stop me from staying again.
"Two ritzy for this Idahoan"
10/20/14 DayOff53 Boise, Idaho
This resort is not my cup of tea. The price is very high (by my Idaho standards), but the room price could be justified by the beautiful location and amenities available. However, the extras on the bill really irritated me. $17 per day to park may be acceptable in some places, but not in Idaho. I know that some people really like all the service, but the valet parking service and bell hops are a bit too aggressive for my taste - I'd rather they were easily accessible in case of need rather than immediately in your face. The room, while very pleasant and comfortable, was in the 1973 7-story expansion to the resort that originally dates to 1965. The room has been updated in terms of decor and furniture, but was dated in some other respects. The pocket door to the bathroom was so heavy and the rollers so stiff that we could hardly close it. The room was not at all electronic device friendly - very few electrical outlets, no USB charging outlets. And the internet service was abysmal - the "free" WiFi had very limited bandwidth and a very awkward registration interface - and you had to go through it for every device every day. For $5.99 extra per day, you could get faster speeds (but not much faster) and apparently the same awkward interface - I didn't go for it. You can't even get easily-accessible WiFi in the lobby. The self-service bar and goodie basket are another sore spot with me - I don't want it in my room and hate that I give up so much space in a very expensive room so that they can try to sell me outrageously-price items. I have previously dined in Beverly's, the hotel's premium restaurant, and found it very good. On this business trip, I ate in the more nearly reasonably-priced Dockside (still no bargain) and found the food good enough, but the bar stock very limited and the knowledge of the wait staff and bartender below par.
"Beautiful lakeside resort, quaint town"
10/13/14 runsuerun60 Salt Lake City, Utah
The room we had at the resort did not have a view of the lake which was disappointing but we were on the 14th floor and had great views of the town. The layout of this room might be my favorite ever. It had a step down sitting area and a large dressing/sink area outside of the tub/toilet. We stayed for three nights and hiked Tubb Hill and ran along the bike path. We took a float plane which was really fun. It docks right along side the hotel. There are long docks you can walk around. We flew in to Spokane and rented a car. It is only a 30 minute drive.
"Wonderful staff, but room not first rate"
10/13/14 inweinberg Bethesda, Maryland
It may have been because I did not get the top-rate room, but I was disappointed with the design and maintenance of the room I got. The refrigerator was noisy and the shower handle did not work well, even after it was repaired. I was surprised there was no bath. The WiFi was very poor, even though I tried to pay for it. I ended up having to use my cell phone tethering in order to get internet service in the room. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is excellent, and the staff we interacted with were uniformly friendly and helpful. The food and view in the 7th floor restaurant were excellent.

The resort was very charming, and I would definitely return for another visit. There is a lot of things to do here, perfect for an extended weekend stay. During warmer weather months, there are many activities that are easily accessible. The area hosts lots of nature paths for biking and hiking, as well as the lake for water activities, such as kayaking, boat rentals, and swimming. The downtown area that is right around the corner from the resort has lots of cute little shops, perfect for finding unique gifts and restaurants. This is a perfect resort for an extended weekend romantic getaway. The room that we stayed in (Lakeview) was very nice and had plenty of space. My husband and I spent quite a bit of time just walking on the boardwalk along the lake. (I think the boardwalk is one of the biggest in the US). The only downfall is that the resort is about a 35 minute drive from the Spokane, WA airport (nearest airport). Do check out Beverly's (located on 7th floor of resort). We also visited The Cellar, which is right down the street, which had a terrific selection of wines. Also, I might add, the wine in this region is awesome....some of the best I've had.
"Nice Hotel, Very Friendly Stagf"
10/08/14 Mark0076 Clearwater, Florida
This was the second time that I have stayed at this resort. The staff is always friendly. The Dockside restaurant is also very good. This time I was placed in the lower level rooms away from the tower. I would not stay in these rooms again. Bit is a maze to get to them and they are very small. Bed was not very comfortable. I stayed in the tower the first time and it is much nicer. Very clean resort.

Oh, and about 50,000 geraniums in bloom. Very beautiful. I went for a nice room, and we were delighted. Ninth floor. Fireplace. A really superior bathroom and room layout. Comfortable bed. Very fast elevators. A choice of bars. I would come back here for a golf outing and during the summer season for boating. The restaurant was out of this world good.
"Serenity in Idaho"

I have always wanted to travel here, and was not disappointed. The resort is a quick trip from the Spokane airport. Once at the resort, we were greeted by a staff who "gets" the service culture. Our check in was efficient, and our room was very clean and spacious. Our luncheon on the 7th floor was wonderful. The scenic beauty of the lake and surrounding hills was incredible. Spa services were great, beautiful pool area. Great place to get away for a few days.

Although we ran into a few glitches on our first room and heating issues on the second room, Jamie Brooks at the front desk was a hero and came through for us. She was kind and accommodating by getting us a second room - its customer service like hers that keeps us coming back.

Amazing views! Wonderful location, Friendly Staff! Just wanted to get away from it all for a week and couldn't have been happier. What a wonderful destination, so far on our last day here there is nothing to complain about. Hotel staff and customer service were nothing short of just caring, helpful, and interested in our comfort. Several detailed cudo's go out to the following staff that went above and beyond to ensure our enjoyment. Jamie B. at the front desk *** Lindsey and Brittany, in the cafe. Amber in Room Service! All the staff we have had the pleasure in speaking with were happy caring employees and it felt as if any resort would be lucky to have such a great staff representing it. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. Sincerely Bernie HB, and Brandon H.
