Fairly basic motel with small rooms. Not on a main road but close to restaurants, freeway, etc. Friendly helpful staff, and room was clean and in good shape. Not a five star resort but ssimple, affordable hotel with no real issues.

I don't know why but we got a handicapped room which made the bathroom very large and nice. The room itself is very small. It was clean. Coffee is served all the time but the hot water for tea was luke warm. The breakfast was fine, nothing special, cereal, juice, toast.

Directions to the hotel not clearly marked after the first exit off the interstate. We were given a handicapped room without asking for one. Breakfast was limited but the hours were fine. No in-room coffee makers, but the room did have a safe, microwave and refrigerator. A/C unit was noisy.

I don't understand what generated the excellent ratings. The staff was nice and helpful, but the accommodations are slightly dated and the breakfast offerings are fewer than at some other hotels. Also, one of our rooms smelled musty and even after the ac ran all night, the smell was not entirely gone.

The rooms were clean. The pool was clean. The rooms are no smoking and they smell clean. Lighting was not the best (no lamps, all fluorescent light light strips above the bed). The A/C wasn't as cold as I like, but it worked. Overall a great value, I would stay there again.

We took the handicapped room. They did not have anything else. The price was steep. We just stayed at another hotel and it was an outstanding hotel for less money. That hotel gave us a full breakfast buffet. This hotel's idea of a breakfast was coffee and some danish/muffins. We were totally disappointed in that. The bathroom was good for a handicapped […] person however they needed a small table near the sink because there was no room to put your cup/toothpaste/toothbrushes,etc on the sink. A handicapped person would still be able to get around as the room was big enough. The bathroom needed major updating especially a paint job. The tv was positioned near the ceiling, probably because it was a handicapped room. However you had to lay down to watch tv or you would get a stiff neck. The back wall behind the beds had all mirrors from the top of the bed to the ceiling. I did not like that at all. Read more

This was a new, pleasant, clean hotel. Excellent value for the price. Was convinced by the many positive reviews to register online for it, and found the reviews were right. Chocolate chip cookies available at 10 pm when we checked in were much appreciated and quite good. Not a bad place for the price, the room was clean, it was very quiet and had a beautiful view. The free Continental Breakfast was substantial and had some good things to eat. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay and will stay there again if I have to return to this area.

I am usually satisfied with Microtel, but this was an exception. The hotel was clean and maintained alright. The breakfast was a bit below what I have had at other Microtel Inns. My family of four was placed in a room designed for wheelchair access that made using the bathroom inconvenient for my teenage daughters. We enjoyed our stay at the Microtel Inn in Staunton, VA. It was very clean and comfortable and the hotel personnel were helpful and friendly. Price was reasonable and only complaint was that we didn't get back from dinner in time to have a homemade chocolate chip cookie. Other guests took way more than their share.

Overall not a bad place to stay, but I would not want to live there. The room was clean and well maintained. No funny smells. Refrigerator and microwave were nice to have. Location is convenient to I81 and places we needed to be. Only three real complaints. The room HVAC on heat would make the room too warm (thermostat was set to 62 degrees), shut […] off, and then not come on until the room was cold. The room could use a coffeepot. (Need something to go with those chocolate chip cookies!). The room is small, but adequate. There is a reason they call it MICROtel. Ask for a mountainside view. Our second stay in a Microtel Inn and again we found it to be clean and economical. No real frills room had two queen beds, TV and clean bathroom facilities. All you need for a night of rest while on the road. Warm chocolate chip cookies at 8pm a bonus. Relatively close to various dining options and located just off the interstate.

Worked for me for one person, stopping one night on my way to a destination. Clean. Small room would be a challenge, especially for more than two persons. Restaurants are close by. Satisfactory for the room rate I paid.
