The popular seaside resort of Estoril was the haunt of exiled European aristocracy in the 19th century, and a wartime refuge from 1939-45. Grand mansions and villas are set in the verdant hills backing the town, and a gothic-style castle overlooks the main beach. Estoril Casino is Europe’s largest and stages top shows. Cascais is just three kilometres and Lisbon 26 kilometres away, and several championship golf courses are nearby.

"the possible downside"

The hotel is superb. Nearby, on a beach premises, a rave party commenced at 1.15am and finished at 5.30am on three consecutive nights. The noise level was intense, precluding sleep.The hotel informed us that they complained to the authorities, to no avail. We complained to the hotel, to the local tourist office and to two policemen, again to no avail. Apparently this beach premises has a permit to hold these parties.Estoril needs to decide what sort of resort it wishes to be.I would not recommend any hotel within a mile of the beach in Estoril in the circumstances.

"Convenient Location in Estoril"

This hotel is right across the road from the train station that brings you to Lisbon or Cascais. Estoril itself is quiet with a few restaurants, the Casino and a lovely beach. There is also a beach front walk to Cascais (30 mins). The hotel itself is comfortable. We had a lovely sea view from the room. The breakfasts are good, with a good selection of food, both hot and cold. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would return.

The staff was very helpful & courteous especially Louis. Breakfast was a plus. The walls were thin & needed extra insulation. The bed not very comfortable. The bar was understaffed most of the time. The location was excellent near to train & bus & Casino. A good place to see the rest of Portugal whose people are among the most friendly & helpful anywhere. We would reccomend & be glad to visit again.

Läget mycket bra i Estoril med närhet till strand och kasino. Fast meny till lunch utan möjlighet till eget val. Frukosten var mycket bra. Rummen något slitna och städningen sådär, för övrigt helt OK. Rum med havsutsikt rekommenderas.

bonne situation, chambres spacieuses et confortables, petit déjeuner tres correct (les plats chauds mériteraient d'être chauds et non tièdes), les conseils de la reception sur des bons restos aux environs sont à éviter, ils sont mauvais, pardon tres tres mauvais.
