First time stay and had a good experience. The hotel's second floor was closed for renovations, and we had to walk by some rooms being renovated on the 1st floor to get to the elevator, which had a strong smell from paint/new carpet. It was off-season however, and they have to renovate sometime. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean, quiet, and did not smell. I really liked that the duvet covers are washed between each guest! Breakfast had some nice selections for a hotel breakfast. Overall, very satisfied.

My teenage daughter and I, along with her best friend, wanted a little get away and the Marriott was absolutely perfect in every way! The girls and I loved the cookies which greeted us at reception, the pool and workout room was exactly what we were looking for and the evening hors d'oeuvres were fantastic! The location of the hotel was really ideal for us since we could easily walk to all the shops and restaurants. The room was superb as we had a one bedroom with a little kitchen. This really came in handy for storing leftovers, cooking popcorn and warming up hot chocolate. Everything was very clean, there was ample space and every employee we encountered seemed so genuinely happy and helpful. We really had a lovely time and would very highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is close to the highway and to the hospital where I was attending a conference. A traffic light by the entrance made for easy in and out regardless of direction of travel. It is also very convenient to downtown Portsmouth and all of it's restaurants and shopping district. The room itself was cozy and the service staff helpful.

This room was very clean, I was very satisfied. The front desk (Cory especially) went out of his way to make sure we felt welcome, and helped out in any way he could. Although we only stayed one night, I would definitely go back for a longer stay.

Our room did have a either a previously smoked in smell or a musty older house smell. We just opened the windows and aired it out and it was perfect. We did book from Hotels.com so we got a cheaper rated room, so it was located near the road and was a liitle loud durning the early evening and early morning. But it wasn't too bad later on, we could have […] asked them for another room I am sure they would have been more than happy to help. my boss had a king size bedroom closer to the office a little more back off the road. she had no coplaints. My wife and wanted a last minute get away and found the Portsmouth Inn very well suited for our needs. The room was roomy, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely recommend the Portsmouth Inn to our friends and will go back for another getaway weekend.

This is the third time I have stayed at the Inn. Every time has been a very positive experience. Great non-chain hotel that never misses a beat. Clean, stylish,friendly, fast check in, and great location for my purposes. Will stay again when I'm in the area. Highly recommend.

We booked this room because we were arriving at an evening wedding reception during a heavy snow storm. We knew we wouldn't make our planned destination. What luck to find the Port Inn. They waited up for us, concerned that we would make it. They hand shoveled around the cars in the morning. We'll make an excuse to visit again!

The front desk was very helpful and provided us with a map, directions and some dining suggestions. I was surprised (and glad) to get a room upgrade! The hotel was very clean and comfortable.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Port Inn while doing some Christmas shopping on Market St. Its at a busy intersection but once there the staff was nice and accommodating. It was a pretty comfortable stay for the night, although the mattress was a bit uncomfortable. That was the only down fall. Over all, good value for the price.

My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary to get away. The hotel was exactly what the website said and the pictures looked like. Which isn't always the case with hotels. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and would come back again.

the pictures makes this hotel seem as if it set in a nicer setting that it actually when in fact it sits on a busy highway. it is however quaint in its own way and the staff was friendly. i would describe it more as a motel but it suited our needs fine for a quick overnighter and it was very close to downtown portsmouth.
