"Comfortable stay at a motel that goes the extra mile"

Initially we were disappointed by this hotel - we'd paid a high rate as we arrived on the 4th July - only to be given a room reminiscent of the motel we'd stayed in on the 1st nigh of our holiday that charged half the price, and looked very unlike most of the pics on the site. However this was a comfortable stop supported by the excellent friendly staff. It was in a good place to drive the scenic coastal route down to Salem and visit Maines wonderful outlet stores just over the boarder. Portsmouth is a joy - and this hotel was 5 minutes away. The laundry was a welcome facility. The small outdoor pool looked good. Breakfast was one of the best we'd had with biscuits/ sausage/ cheese/egg combos. Home cooked sausages, Bacon and scrambled eggs were all good. Juice, yoghurt, pastries, fruit all available. Rooms well equipped with cooking facilities and fridge, coffee maker. The high rate and dated nature of room stopped me awarding full marks.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for a long weekend. Our room was not available upon arrive but the staff were welcoming and provided us with directions to town and several places to shop and eat. The hotel is about a half hour walk to downtown or a $6 cab ride. The lobby and rooms were decorated very fashionable and everything was clean. However, we had requested a non-smoking room and the room had obviously been smoked in recently as the smell was very strong. We did not request a room change as it was late when we returned from shopping and dinner. Bonuses are a pool and free breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Portsmouth for the cleanliness/décor, pool and value.
"Cute, clean New England motel"

My family and I stayed at the Port Inn on our way to visit family. We had originally booked at another local hotel, and when we arrived at 9:30 p.m., found out the hotel had no water. The Port Inn was just around the corner, so we stopped not knowing what to expect. The motel has a cute New England style look to it. The room itself was nicely decorated and very clean. We were also pleasantly surprised with the great breakfast in the morning. We would definitely stay again!
"Perfect Motel for a Quick Stay"

My father, boyfriend and I rented two rooms at The Port Inn in March of 2014. We were in town for an event and were looking for simple rooms that were clean and relatively inexpensive, and The Port Inn exceeded our every expectation. Though we do feel compelled to state that this is a motel despite the name, we were pleasantly surprised upon pulling up to TPI to find it a well-maintained gem in a less than idyllic town. Check-in was an expedient process. Skip at the Front Desk was courteous and kindly offered directions and suggestions upon request. Both of our rooms were spacious and decorated in a modern style. We were surprised to find that our rooms each had well-stocked kitchenettes. From the comfortable mattresses to the flat-screen televisions to the iPod docking stations, these rooms felt very recently renovated and well-cared for. Though we wouldn't recommend the Portsmouth area as a vacation destination (the area didn't seem to offer much in terms of activities beyond shopping or heading to Hampton Beach, and we found formal dining options severely lacking), we would absolutely recommend The Port Inn to anyone travelling to the area.
"Clean, Comfortable and Best of all Friendly Staff!"

We just returned home from a lovely get-away to Portsmouth NH and felt the need to praise the staff at the Port Inn. When we first arrived a bit early the lovely Noreen was only too happy to check us in after confirming that our room was ready. We were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful room directly across from the pool with a comfortable King bed, desk, dining area and complete kitchenette. We were celebrating a special Anniversary and were given a room upgrade (Thank You Trish!) The staff couldn't have been more gracious and were only too happy to help with directions and dining suggestions. My husband and I both slept like babies in the comfortable beds and really enjoyed our dip in the pool after touring Strawberry Banke on a 90 degree day. The breakfast which was included was much better than the typical juice, coffee and danish that you usually find at the chain hotels. I would definitely stay here again and hope to do so in the future.

Stayed at this place for the weekend. I have to say my favorite parts were how quiet it was and how nice the property was. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough. Our bathroom was a bit dated, if it was renovated, I would have given it a higher rating. One downfall is if you are out at night, it is likely you won't get a parking spot near your room when you come back so you may wind up walking.

What can I say? The King size beds were very comfortable. Great pillows & linens too. The bathroom is small if you have a kitchenette, but who cares? A kitchenette is a wonderful thing. The rooms were very quiet considering the location near heavy traffic. The level of cleanliness was very high indeed. The staff was absolutely stellar! Would I stay again? I can't wait to go back!!

Very clean, newly revamped rooms. Very comfortable beds. Good breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. We would defiantly stay here again. This hotel is fairly priced compared to the others in the area.

From the moment you check in to the moment you check out you will enjoy your stay! We were very pleased with the suite # 235, the pool was so nice and warm. The staff was so wonderful. Every time I walked by the front desk I could here them helping out a guset or giving out information to someone on the phone.

We were here in peak season. This is a motel, but the nicest drive up motels I have ever been to. The bed was comfortable. The room is small but, for the most part, it has been renovated to look up-to-date. Nice lobby area. Nice pool. Very helpful front desk staff.
