      This hotel is very difficult to find by car without GPS. If you arrive by train in Hamburg, it will be much easier to get to this hotel. The desk staff spoke English and were helpful with directions for getting to the city center. The room was clean. The neighborhood provides a mixture of society with no major grocery stores or many restaurants in the immediate area.

      The hotel is very nice. For the budget price we paid for the night in Hamburg it was very good. My two complaints are: The room, though it was non smoking, smelled decently strongly of smoke. and my other complaint is: the hotel attracts college kids who have been partying and were banging on the walls and door for a few hours of the night, which is of course not the hotel's fault. The neighborhood isn't the nicest, but it seemed safe. The hotel staff is very friendly though, and the free continental breakfast, something rare for a cheap German hotel, was very good.

      It took awile to take number 17 bus to get from Hamburg, but the rustic setting was well worth any effort. The breakfast was included, and it was delicious. The restaurant next door served a superb fish dinner for a great price. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.
