My 2 cousins (24/25) stayed in this hotel and they loved it. they were very pleased with their rooms. The restaurant/bar was located a few yards from the ocean and was very pleasant to visit at the end of the day. They would stay again.

the view was nice, direct on the beach. Hotel was old, sliding doors very hart to close and open. The TV shot it self of and turned it self on every couple of hours. Cont. Breakfast -toast/1 kind of cereal/Danish. We had to walk by the kitchen and saw raw chicken in a bowl just sitting there. One lady we talked to got very sick from the chicken. The hotel is directly on the beach as advertised. I stayed in a downstairs room and it was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast had a limited selection. The food on the menu was good but there isn't a whole lot of "island" flavor about their food. The place had a bar but there wasn't any "island" atmosphere at the bar. My only complaint would be that it took them almost my entire stay to figure out that the telephone line in my room was not actually broken but just had not been turned on. Note: The hotel is about 15 minute ride away from the nearest restaurant. There are no taxis available to or from the area after 9:00pm (not the hotels fault), so if you don't rent a car you are stuck there in the evening. Read more

This is a great value for an average accommodation on a great beach, but there is no real way to enter this rocky water, so no real swimming. Great for a wonderful vast view and wind surfers. Food is Ok, but the hotel next door is handy. Staff is helpful and friendly. MUST rent a car since taxis are extremely expensive.

I thoroughly enjoyed our restful week at Hibiscus with the location right on the beach, The room was clean, and we liked the king-size bed, tile floors, and found we had everything necessary (with the exception of consistent good water pressure for the shower). Watched the waves from the first floor veranda or stepped off right onto the sandy beach […] with chaise lounges, hammock, volley ball and the convenient (& very good) restaurant/bar. Staff at both Hibiscus and the bar/restaurant were very friendly and accomodating. We alternated between the free continental breakfast [I bought my own gluten-free cereal (celiac disease) for health reasons] and ordering off the more than adequate breakfast menu. We arrived the day after Tropical Storm Irene, on our honeymoon so the island was still recovering from the aftermath. There was no phone, cable or wifi but the staff were friendly and helpful. Let me say this first, im not the type to complain about stuff but if I had a review like this to read I wouldn't have stayed here. The water pressure in the shower was awful! My wife had to wash her hair at the shower by the pool. I called the desk to tell them and they didn't care. Very slow service, the food was really good though ill give them that. They found a body in the road about two miles from the resort so the neighborhood isn't that great either. If you want all the "bells and whistles" then this is not for you. BUT if you want a comfortable, very clean room that is right on the beach, and I do mean right on the beach, then this is the place you need to be. Our room was extremely clean, the hotel staff was so friendly and accomodating, if you need anything at all just ask. The hotel receptionist had the hotel security guard actually drive us to the McDonald's (only thing open at that hour) for food. It was late and we were not comfortable with driving on the left! We really appreciated that. We were given a free dinner at the hotel for our anniversary which was nice. Everyone that worked there seemed to know it was our anniversary and I thought that was wonderful. If you want the plush hotel, spa, etc. that go with the larger more expensive hotels then this is not for you. If you want a laid back, simple, vacation this is the place. I actually slept on our balcony two nights just to fall asleep to the surf..........and the breeze here is amazing. No other place we went on the island had the trade winds like the Hibiscus. The bar is wonderful with a great bartender named Cathy. The owner is always around and asking if you need anything. I love this hotel and we will definitely go back again. The room had a very obvious amount of black mold on the bathroom walls. The shower was terribly dirty and moldy. I requested another room. Staying in a place where your room is right on the beach is most people's idea of a dream vacation. I did thoroughly enjoy that aspect of my stay at the Hibiscus Resort, but there were many other details that were less than satisfactory. The bathroom left a great deal to be desired. The sink faucet didn't work properly and the toilet wasn't even bolted […] to the floor. Having enough water pressure to take a shower was unpredictable. The air conditioning unit in the room didn't seem to be working properly even after this was reported to the resort. I would have loved to be able to open the sliding door at night to listen to the waves, but there was no screen on the door. The continental breakfast offered by the resort was meager at best. It mainly consisted of toast and coffee.....occasionally some cold cereal. I will say that all the resort staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I think they are the reason that I did enjoy my stay as much as I did. I doubt I would consider returning to this particular resort. I think for the money I spent, I could find better accommodations. I chose this hotel specifically from the reviews I had read, and the pictures I had seen online. Upon arriving to the island, the car rental company that the hotel recommended didn't even have the hotel location on their map, they had to draw it for us. When we finally found it, there wasn't a hotel lobby, more of a "concession stand" box of a front […] desk. All of the roofs had blue tarp on them, it was not at all what we expected. Upon entering the room, the luggage rack collapsed when I put my suitcase on it, the chair was so wobbly with the screws stripped that we were scared to sit in it, the toilet didn't flush unless you held the handle down for a good 15-20 secs, there was a piece of wood in the sliding door, I guess to prevent break ins. The microwave didn't work, the refrigerator barely cooled any of our food, oh and speaking of food... we were to get free continental breakfast w/our stay. That consisted of a bowel of fruit cocktail (the kind you get out of a can that you give your kids) a bowel of raisin bran and bread. I was dismayed by the fact that we are on an island and we are being served canned, syrup soaked fruit. Needless to say we only ate breakfast there once. The tiles in the bathroom were broken, the hot water was only hot for about 5 minutes, definitely not enough time for two people to take a shower. Unfortunately we read that we would be charged 100% for a cancellation, so we chose to stick it out. But I will definitely NOT recommend this place! Read more

Hotel has been refurbished and is well maintained. The bathroom in our unit (#1) needed to be updated as well as the sliding glass door onto the beach. Otherwise, the location is convenient to Christiansted (you must have a car) and it is nice to have beach access outside your door. The complimentary breakfast was a bit of a disappointment.

We got that and so much more! Our room was great, and the view from our room was phenomenal. Best place to stay because of the beach and the people were wondeful. It is definately a single person`s tiki bar next door. The food was not very good. The drinks were great,though. A wonderful experience. A nice clean room i a good condition. BEAUTIFUL VIEW !!! Water had a little bit of sea weed but there is a part of a beach that does not.
