Not what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express. When I asked for a wake up call, they said they didn't do wake up calls, I said there wasn't an alarm clock in the room, so how do I ensure waking up at the right time? They did say they'd find me an alarm clock, then told me I needed to come downstairs to pick it up...right! The front desk staff were good […] in helping me with directions. Not the most pleasant of stays: hotel is at least half an hour by cab from Oxford city centre, no civilisation in the area, no restaurant in the hotel, room extremely small, bed extremely firm. Overall, a depressing experience.

We were very pleased with the size of the room and the bathroom with roll-in shower and plenty of grab bars. The location was good for our purposes but otherwise remote from Oxford. We were told there were eating places in the area, but they were not readily apparent. The breakfast buffet was more than we expected. Overall quite a good experience.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years but it is now in need of a makeover. The bedrooms are looking TIRED and GRUBBY. A poor reflection of what was once a really nice hotel!

The hotel was very clean. Friendly staf. Plenty of transportation options to Center City, Railroad Station, Bus Station, University. See buses 1 & 5 that operate every 10 minutes including week-ends!

3 or 4 miles outside Oxford city centre. Taxi in to the centre and back is £10 each way. Much cheaper than one of the central hotels or B&B's. Good service, clean fair sized room, breakfast included was good and staff are friendly and helpful. Cinema is just round the corner and some shops I believe. I'd stay here again

The double bed was excessively soft & at one point almost tipped me out. It would also be very useful to mildly handicapped and/or older people (like myself) if the shower was provided with grab-handles. As it it, one has to hold on to the shower fitments - not a good idea.

this hotel is literally on the side of the football stadium so if you're a fan of oxford united i would imagine it's wonderfully positioned - for us, however, it was a bit off the beaten track - luckily we had a car because without it we'd've been stuck - the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and the breakfast was much as […] you'd expect - no complaints - the wifi wasn't included in the price and on top of the room price i think is a bit expensive - we paid for 24 hours and the wifi signal was so bad we couldn't use it - but in fairness to the hotel they did refund the charge (also watch out if there are 2 of you in a room with a laptop/tablet/phone because you can't use more than one device on the wifi without having to pay the fee again!) This hotel is located close to Oxford football stadium and about a 20 minute drive to Oxford city centre. The dining options are relatively limited near the hotel (a few restaurants in the complex near by) and it is recommended to go further a field for more/better options. We booked a room for three, they had a pull out spare pull out bed. it was the most uncortfortable bed I have ever slept on, so bad we checked out a day early. Seconly the breakfast was heavingly bad.

My room was a black hole for mobile signal, making it impossible to tether my laptop to my phone. Cost of wifi? £5/hour or £9/24 hours. What a ripoff! Also the closest restaurant is around the back of the hotel and through several dark parking lots. Not ideal for a woman travelling solo.

Booked a double bed, was given a room with a single, great nights sleep...not! Staff unhelpful at best, bed old and uncomfortable. WiFi overpriced, and no food after 10pm. Breakfast was OK an dnothing more, really not good value for money.

The hotel was further from town than I had expected but was clean and bright and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed - not a luxury hotel room but a good place to spend the night. Breakfast was excellent - lots of variety - something for everyone. The room was really clean and spacious. It was well laid out and everything you could need for a weekend stay. It was very good value for money considering how much you pay to stay in Oxford ordinarily especially as breakfast was included. There is a nightbus about 7 minutes walk from the hotel and taxis know the hotel so you don't have to explain if […] you don't know the area. They even provide the option of a soft and hard pillow! People do see the £10 cost of a taxi as pricey however that is perfectly normal for Oxford. Would recommend the hotel and would stay again in the future. Read more

Very polite and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The room was basic but very adequate for our needs, only one criticism no air conditioning as room did get very warm. Breakfast was simple but again you could eat as much as you needed. First impression on arrival was that the hotel was to isolated but there is a park and ride 5 minutes away […] which I would recommend if going into Oxford as parking in the city is very expensive.
