Nice, quaint hotel. Fantastic roof deck. Room was quite spartan, mattress was pretty uncomfortable, but the the room and the hotel are very clean. Great breakfast.

We stayed at Hotel Sari Konak for 6 nights on our recent trip to Istanbul. The location is absolutely PERFECT for staying in the historic district of Sultanahmet of Istanbul which is really where I think most visitors want to stay. It is within very easy walking district of the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and The Topkaki Palace as well as some local […] shopping bazaars. We even walked to the Grand Bazaar and it was not too far. There is also a tram nearby that can take you over to the ferries for the cruises on the Bosphorous Straight, the Domabache Palace and the Galata Tower area. There are many geat cafes and restaurants to eat at all within walking distance. As for the hotel it has all the character I was searching for but also all the ammenities. The breakfast is fabulous!! (wonderful scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, fruits, cereal, breads and jams and the best fresh orange slices I have ever tasted). "Eser: who serves breakfast is wonderful. The true gem of the hotel is the rooftop deck. You can see the Blue Mosque from one side and the Bophorous staight from the other. We were there in the off season so it was just quiet and a great place for me to go with a glass of wine and read my book. Absolutely wonderful hotel! We booked this hotel based on reviews from other visitors and I cannot tell you enough what a gem this hotel is! The rooms are not large by any means (we had 102) but for people who just need a place to crash after a day of sightseeing, you will not be disappointed! The showers were the best of any place I've stayed in terms […] of temperature, pressure, etc. The rooms were spotlessly clean when we returned in the evenings. The beds were as comfortable as hotel beds can be. The continental breakfast in the morning saved us a lot of money because we ate enough to last us all day and was delicious, not your standard plain ol' breakfast. I am still craving some of the jams and breads I got at breakfast. The staff could not have been any nicer, more accommodating or helpful. Someone was always there to help us with whatever needs we had. When we checked-in, the gentleman there went over all the things we could do, gave us a nice map and showed us how to get there. It was so incredibly helpful! The hotel also has a "cheat sheet" in the room which tells the hours and days of operation of the largest 20-odd sites so that you could plan ahead for your excursions. The location could not be any more perfect for people wanting to be near the largest sites. Its max a 5 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topaki Palace. I would stay here again in a heart beat and for anyone not sure of the hotel, I cannot express enough how happy I was with my stay. Read more

My wife and I were extremely satisfied with the 5 nights we spent at the Sari Konak hotel in Istanbul (Sultanahmet area). And I'm pretty sure the hotel is consistently awesome--we stayed here twice (3 nights at the beginning of our trip, 2 nights at the end, with a friend's wedding in between). Location and pictures of the hotel's rooftop terrace on […] the website sold us on the place--and both turned out to be better than we imagined! The terrace had stunning views of the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia and the Asian side across the Marmara Sea. Another treat was the wonderful bartender on the terrace, Hasan. We spent a couple lovely evenings chatting with him, learning about life in Istanbul and drinking Turkish wine. That really made our trip! The staff (that accommodated our many requests for help making restaurant reservations, etc), comfortable room, decor and hit-the-spot breakfast spread (again on the terrace) were all icing on the cake! The only tip I'd give (other than to stay here!) is that airport transport might be cheaper if you book it on your own. We used Backpackers service, which was 50 TL, and the transport the hotel arranges is normally 60 TL (but when we told them, they gave us the lower price for their service.) Read more

Hotel fantastico in una posizione strategica per visitare la città. Dalla terrazza si gode una vista superlativa sui minareti e sul mar di Marmara. Lo staff è gentile e premuroso. Auffallend: die Liebe zum Detail und ein gepflegter Allgemeinzustand. Auch die Dachterrasse und die Aussicht von dort: toll! Der Frühstücksraum und der kleine Innenhof: sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Bauart bedingt - da älteres (aber renoviertes) Haus: die Zimmer sind recht klein! Leider ist die Straße bis ca. 2330 recht belebt - das Zimmer im Erdgeschoß […] zur Straße, das wir hatten, war daher bis recht laut. Absolutes No-Go, und auch in anderen teuren Hotels immer wieder überraschend: da wird sich sonst viel Mühe gegeben, aber ein ganz normaler Orangensaft mit 100% Saftanteil ist den Hoteliers anscheinend zu teuer, und es wird ein künstliches, billiges, aus Instantpulver angerührtes Fruchtsaftgetränk auf das Frühstücksbuffet gestellt. Ist mir immer unverständlich! Das Frühstück war ganz ok, persönlich schade (und stillos) finde ich allerdings den Gebrauch der kleinen Einweg-Plastikpackungen für Frischkäse, Butter oder Nutella. Rührei nur gegen Aufpreis! Fitnessraum, Wellnessbereich, Pool: nicht vorhanden! Ganz billig ist das Hotel daher nicht - ein modernes Hotel mit großzügigen Zimmern und viel Kompfort, auch Wellnessbereich und Fitnessraum usw. (gesehen bei Freunden die zur gleichen Zeit dort waren) kann es damit - auch preislich - locker aufnehmen! Read more

L'hotel e' molto ben localizzato e le camere pulite... Il personale e' molto amichevole e aiuta molto nell'indicare i luoghi da visitate. La terrazza sul tetto e' fantastica per bere un the al calar del sole. Consiglio il ristorante dubb ethinic di fronte all'hotel che offre cibi deliziosi per chi e' stanco di mangiare kebab!
