I stayed there on a fly fishing trip, the front desk went above and beyond, the hot tub was great, and the room, small but the beds were comfy and we slept with the indow open because it was great smelling the cool mountain air. You could hear the freeway, but not as bad as people say. I read the reviews before i went, and was pleasently surprised. if you want the ritz, or hilton...go to Vail...but if you want a good room for a great price, stay here.

Very poorly insulated, and freeway noise was so bad it was impossible to sleep. The location is the only good thing about this place...very easy access to I-70 and surrounding area.

I went here thinking I could stay at a cheap place and take the bus in to town. Well the bus runs infrequently and I ended up paying $25 a day to park in town. Take the parking money and put it towards a better place. The room was small, but comfortable. They hadn't vaccuumed under the bed (there was popcorn). The front staff was really great and were the best part of the stay.

Don't bother going to breakfast, the pastries, muffins, and powdered creamer were disgusting. Only good things- free parking & shuttle around Vail.

The room was clean, but needed to be updated. The climate control in the room did not seem to work, but the temperature was a steady 75 degrees. You have to drive to the Vail lifts, but do not have to get on the freeway. All in all, not too bad considering the price. Bring your own toiletries.

I was reluctant to stay here because of the negative reviews that were previously posted. However, I found a completely different set of conditions. Considering the low price, 1.5 star rating, and the upscale location (in Vail, not 30 miles away) I was very, very happy with the price, room, and hotel. The room was clean, the bathroom was recently remodeled, the bed was fine, plenty of heat and hot water. The free breakfast was adequate. Good coffee. Everyhing was fine and we had a GREAT skiing vacation at a moderate price! Highly recommend to those that can get by without the high cost condo.

As far as location is concerned, for the money it is a decent hotel only about a mile from Vail. Quality is a concern for me since the price was steep for the service and state of the facilities. Apparently the price I paid was quite discounted as well so that is kind of scary. Must have been a slow season for them, but anyway, if you aren't expecting much and just want to ski/board and not worry about accommodations being stellar, this is the place.

This was the most uncomfortable thing I have laid on since my college roommate got a free mattress from the guy next door. Sure you were cheap, but god were you painful. Outstanding value considering the affluent Vail area. Very close to Vail proper at prices that are less than half of other local hotels and in most cases a third of local hotel cost. The Roost is a "sleeping room" motel...it is sparse but clean and adequate for a single or couple on a budget....The Roost has rules and does not bend them for anyone: no one gets a room before 4 PM for example. I'll stay there again when going to Vail.
