We spent only one night in this hotel as a base for two days of visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum. Situated near the railway station it is ideal for travel from Rome and accessing the Circumvesuviano train to visit the archaeological sites. Work on the new metro lline in the main square was not noisy asthe hotel has good shutters. Cannot comment about the restaurant as a power cut affecting the whole of the street block meant we had to eat out that evening. The area around the hotel is not nice, dirty rubbish strewn, overflowing binsand lots of street traders, legal and otherwise, selling cheap tat. But the hotel is very clean, very comfortable and the service excellent. Althiough we had checked out we were allowed a room at no charge to shower and freshen up before our journey back to Rome.We would definately use the hotel again for accessing the area around Naples and Sorrento.

Friendly staff, with a 24hr desk and a paricularly proficient house keeper who managed to take great care over the cleaning of our large family room. Unfortunately we never managed to meet this person (or persons) to thank them. The room provided a double bed at one end, bathroom in the centre and two single beds at the other end. Although facilities were clean they have been in place some time. Useful free and secure baggage store on the departure day, but limited view from the room. Note of caution - the local area is very busy with street traders, traffic, bulding works in progress and buses. In addition, the appearance of 'working girls' during the evening on the far side of the piazza is a concern as the evening wears on.

After staying in hotels in southern Italy and Sicily, I was concerned about the location near the train station. I had been warned not to stay near the station. However, since we were traveling by train, we needed a hotel that was near the train station. We were very careful and always arrived back at the hotel before dark. We were very pleased with the ability to travel both to and from the surrounding areas on the train and bus. I would recommend this hotel to other visitors.

The hotel was in a great location - right near the train station, and was very clean with a large room. We stayed here only because of its proximity to Pompeii - the area around the hotel was very dirty, noisy, and lots of shady people - if you're looking for atmosphere Do Not stay in Naples - stay in Sorrento.

Within walking distance of the train station. Not the best or cleanest part of town (garbage is in the streets) but the hotel was very clean. We had a room on the top floor with windows that opened to a charming tiled patio that was bigger than the room! Restaurant was excellent, best meals we had in Italy even though the head waiter was like the Soup Kitchen Nazi on Seinfeld. I was afraid to ask for ice with my drink! (He told me I was from "another planet" because I asked for iced tea.)

This hotel was probably the best or at least of two of the best hotels in Piazza Garibaldi. Piazza Garibaldi is where the train station in Naples is located, so it is extreemely convenient to walk from the train station about 2 blocks to this hotel, even with luggage. But, remember this is Naples (My husband and I lived there for two years) and there is a tremendous amount of petty crime- pick pockets, street vendors who will sell you what looks to be an authentic cell phone stereo, whatever only to find that it is a empty shell. Piazza Garibaldi is teeming with these people so you must be very careful- keep your wallet in your front pocket and your purse under your jacket or arm. This hotel is very convenient as a starting point to tour Naples. Taxis are easily obtained. It is not luxurious, but it is clean and the staff is excellent. The breakfast was delicious.

It does not get more central if you travel by bus/train in Naples. But it is also the centre of beggars and the square was incredibly dirty. The hotel was ok, but eat you breakfast elsewhere. Its an insult to the proud italian cooking traditions.

A hotel Nápoly egyik legjobban megközelíthető helyén található. A reptérről autóbusszal 15 perc alatt be lehet érni, itt van a központi pályaudvar, innen indul a Circumvesuviana Sorrentoba (útközben Vezúv, Pompei), itt, a Piazza Garibaldin van sok városi busz végállomása. A szoba berendezése valaha pompás volt, mára kicsit "patinássá" vált. A hotel személyzete előzékeny, a büfféreggeli pompás! Mindezekkel együtt szívesen ajánljuk a Cavour Hotelt.
