THIS HOTEL IS CONVENIENT FOR JUST A COMFORTABLE OVERNIGHT STAY AND I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN, HOWEVER IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LUXURY, PEACE AND QUIET; THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL THE WALLS ARE VERY THIN AND THERE IS NO ELEVATORS.

The room was clean and I love the window seating. I just didn't like that the refrigerator was at the corner of the bed and there was no iron. The big mirror behind the bed was different but not the position of the overhead light switch. Light screen needed cleaning but otherwise I enjoyed my stay. Would recommend it to friends.

This is not what I was used to in Microtel. Other Microtels were very appealing, bright, and desirable. This hotel is very gloomy, run down, dark, and depressing. We wanted a romantic getaway but the room wasnt as exspected. The air unit was noisey i couldnt sleep and we had No refrigerator, iron or microwave very disappointed. the room was clean and the area is great. very quiet .Ruby Tuesday was next door . The food was great!!! We probably wont stay again.. :(

I've stayed here before, when visiting my college kids or attending a college football game. It's right on I-59, so it's an easy ramp-down/up to travel. Located near a Cracker Barrel and a couple of fast food places, also near a gas station, so it's very convenient in that regard. I'll definitely stay again.

I prefer the Microtels and have had very good luck with them, until we stayed at this one. The first room had a broken toilet handle so we moved to room next to it easily. That room had a short in the bathroom light and it sometimes came on right away, and sometimes did not. The entrance light was missing the cover and I had to ask for an iron and ironing […] board. The TV was sitting on the dresser instead of above the closet like the other hotels do. The service was very good, and the breakfast was decent. Strange how they had the coffee and drinks on the other side of the lobby. The breakfast area was cramped too - while the lobby was large. All in all, I probably would not stay here again, but I will continue to book at other Microtels. Read more

We were very disappointed. The rooms were not as clean as they should be. The tub had mold around the rim and so did the commode. You would walk out in the hallway and it was like walking into a sauna. The grounds had dog feses everywhere and debris. The closet had a rod for your for your clothes. but everytime you would get something out, the rod would […] fall down. The room did not have coffee pots which I think is a must, I think the family that runs the hotel must live there because in our last nite there you could smell food cooking up and down the hallways. Wyhdam, I believe has taken over the management of this hotel and they need to check into this place. Do not recommend this place. First impression was lousy. Desk clerk was not overly friendly and really was there just to put people in their rooms. Dont think she smiled and said welcome. I loved this place... My boyfriend and I were looking for an expensive little getaway for New Year's Eve, and we found just that here... It was very quiet, away from loud traffic, yet still less than a block or two from food and gas services... I would definitely recommend this place... The staff was friendly... Absolutely disgusting, I didn't want to touch anything. I actually used the brown stained wash rag to turn on and change channels on the crappy satellite TV that worked half the time. Carpet wasn't vacuumed, bathroom floor was sticky, shower looked like it had never been cleaned and was full of pubic hair....I actually washed with my hand and dried […] off with yesterdays shirt....Internet is non-existing, staff is rude, overheard a guy beating the crap out of his girl throughout the night through the paper thin walls. In the first 5 hours after check-in 3 different guest tried to come into the room but their key wouldn't work. On the day of check out at 7am, me in my underwear getting ready for work heard the door open. Lucky I had the chain closed. Im guessing it was staff but no knock or warning at 7am I was passed mad.....I did read the reviews but had no choice because there was an event in town that week and no rooms were available. Will just say this, I will sleep in my car and bath in a public toilet before I would ever consider staying at this curry smelling dump. Read more

I was very satisfied with this hotel. All members of the staff were very friendly & helpful. The beds were so comfortable. The room was clean & pretty. We had a wonderful time. I enjoyed the breakfast. I will definitely return and refer my friends to this hotel when they go to Bama football games. Roll Tide!!

Simple clean room. Room had extra towels. Friendly staff. Breakfast is waffles, juice, cereal. Felt safe. Only minus is no exercise room. I didn't have a computer so I don't know about Wi-Fi. I'd stay again!

After reading bad reviews, I STILL booked sight unseen. We are happy with our stay at Cottondale's Microtel. The room was clean. The staff was most friendly and accomodating. I had a little problem with the room phone, but not that I'm going to give this a bad rating. There are NO elevators in this hotel. Not a problem to us as we only had 1 bag each. […] There was a family checking in when we did and apparently they had planned to stay more than 1 night and were having a problem with luggage on the stairs. There are no blow dryers or irons in the rooms. I tried to call down to get an iron but the phone volume didn't work. I went down to get iron and the aforementioned family was leaving. They said the room had obviously been chain-smoked in and it was labeled a non-smoking room. I am a smoker and even I won't stay in a smoking room! The complimentary breakfast was delicious! Waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, biscuits and gravy, the works. I think the only difference between this hotel and our normal stays at Hampton Inns was the size of room, the pillows and feather-tops we get at HI, the age of hotel, the elevators, and the size of the breakfast area. We will consider staying here if we ever need to stay in the area again. Read more

This hotel has minor cosmetic flaws but was extremely clean and very, very comfortable. To have to be away from home, this was on of the most enjoyable stays I have ever experienced, especially for the price. The staff was all wonderful and extremely helpful.

Thank you for the three day special. It made it worth our stay. The breakfast had fresh bagels that were great as was the sausage gravy and biscuits on the weekend. The staff was friendly and efficient.
