"Close to downtown Oak Bluffs"
Ms. Claude the was a gracious host. She made sure we had everything we needed. Room was clean and fresh towels were delivered daily. All the taxi drivers knew Ms. Claude the and where the Resort was located. A taxi would arrive within 5 min. of our call.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We always have a wonderful stay at the Martha's Vineyard Resort. Claudette is always so accommodating!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient location. We rode our bikes to and from the ferry. Clean and well maintained grounds and rooms. Quiet and comfortable rooms. We stayed in room #7 - very private. Pleasant and peaceful stay with ever available staff, including the innkeeper who is a warm and helpful person. Generous continental breakfast. If you want to be conveniently close […] to the center but away from the bustle and noise, along with all of the other pluses, this is your place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good place to stay"
Clean, convenient, good breakfast, nice peopleGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice old house, tennis courts if you're into that, Claudette was wonderful innkeeper. Restful wrap-around porch complete with rockers. All rooms up a steep, narrow stairway which might be a problem for some. Rooms very clean, could use a little updating but a good value all-around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great place, very friendly and clean. We didn't mind the distance to oak bluffs, a quick walk, but thought others might.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A modest hotel at best."
I have never reviewed a hotel before but feel compelled to do so. This was not a resort in any sense of the word. It was an old building moderately well maintained. The water was cold until we complained. The staff was not particularly helpful. The room was small but tidy. The refrigerator did not work. The hotel was a long mile from town on a busy […] road with no sidewalks. I would not recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You're on an island so everything is pretty close"
The hotel was very clean, very well kept and nice and quiet. It's about a mile from the center of Oak Bluffs so if you're a walker, it's not a big deal. I would suggest taking a cab from the ferry if you have suitcases b/c it is an uphill walk and there are no sidewalks on New York Avenue. The complimentary continental breakfast was more than adequate […] and we had our fill while eating outside on the patio enjoying the sun. We had an AC in our room and TV (which we never turned on). The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom is full size which is great and there was a full length mirror on the back of the door. For the ladies, there was a hair dryer provided. We did not hear any of the other tenants or any of the traffic despite facing the street. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a beach cottage kinda of property. The furnishings are clean Salvation Army quality. Quaint funky vibe. Martha's Vineyard is the draw, this is just a place to sleep before hitting the sights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very impressed and pleased"
the resort was more of a bed and breakfast. There's a large room on the first floor. There are 5 rooms on the second floor, each with their own bathroom, nice sitting room on the second floor that leads out to a balcony with umbrella tables. The rooms were clean. There's an air conditioner in the window. A television and mini frig, Tennis court in the […] back. We spoke to other vacationers who have been coming for 4 years. They stayed in the cottages behind the main building, they had a two bedroom cottage with a kitchen and living room. They love it. I highly recommend the Martha Vineyard Resort Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The vineyard: 30 years later"
This was our first visit in 30 years. This time we had our young adult children with us. It's a great location because it is slightly away ( 1/2 mile) from Oak Bluffs. There was no noise or heavy traffic in our area. The rooms were very spacious. The master bed room was approximately 30' by 30'. The other bedroom was 12' by 14'. It had a small kitchen […] area which was convenient in case you want to eat in instead of dining out. The beds were satisfactory. The mattress could have been a little more firm instead of bowed in places. Overall the room was very clean. The tennis courts were clay and were fun to play on the soft surface. Some minor sprucing up of the surface would be beneficial. The rocking chairs on the front building porch were greatly relaxing. The continental breakfast was more than enough to satisfy our breakfast taste. It consisted of muffins, bagels, bread, granola bars, yogurt, bananas, cereals with coffee, orange juice, and milk to drink. Charlotte (the manager) was very personable and helpful with information. I would reccommend this resort to my friends. Stan Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not what I expected"
This was my first visit to MV. Found this hotel at the last minute. Booked a room with 2 king beds as I was traveling with 3 friends. The room was very out dated and smelled musty. I was disappointed and expected it to be much better. It's more of a bed and breakfast. I travel a lot and was not happy with the accommodations.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was extremely small. Difficult to walk around the bed with out suitcases open. Limited air conditioning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stayed for a long weekend on July 4th"
We were greeted by a nice woman Claudette. THe hotel is small, just 8 rooms, but very spacious. Breakfast was really "continental" with very limited choice of food- I would say it was the only big minus for this place. Other people were walking down the street to pick up a cup of coffee elsewhere (10 min walk). We has a kitchenette (did not use it) […] and could have prepared food by ourselves. Basic Bed & Breakfast Inn located a mile away from the Town of Oak Buff. Tennis courts in the back was a great to have for no extra cost. The host was great and kept the rooms clean for us.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful place for couples!"
The main building is probably not more that 15 years old. It appears to have been remodeled recently or perhaps it has just been kept in pristine shape all along. Everything was clean and in fine shape. Claudette (the owner) was very gracious. She put out a wonderful breakfast every morning. The motel is located just half a mile from downtown Oak Bluffs, […] which has many restaurants, art galleries, and gift shops. We decided to leave the car and walk to downtown. The rooms are small, but the atmosphere is great, and the price was very attractive. When you go downtown be sure to ask the locals about "Back Door Donuts". We will definitely stay here again! After reading some unfavorable reviews on the Martha's Vineyard Resort, we were pleasantly surprised to find a small, well run B&B. Our room was large, clean and the bath had soft, cuddly towels. Though situated on the main road into Oak Bluffs, it was very quiet. The garden is well maintained. Claudette, the owner/manager was a jewel and provided answers […] to all of our questions. The Continental Breakfast served in the Main Gathering Room was just what we needed to get us started on our busy days exploring the island. What a great weekend!! "Pluses and Minuses"
This was a nice, quiet, comfortable Inn or B&B. It is not a "resort". There was only 1 very nice employee that we ever saw in 4 days. There was no ice, soda, or snack machine. They have 2 tennis courts that were never swept or used during our 4 day stay. I know I sound negative, but I would stay there again. Martha's Vineyard roads and bike paths are […] scenic, but have very poor signage. Bring a GPS. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Charming, small town feel"
This resort was perfect for us. Claudette was a gracious and charming lady who helped make the stay delightful. The continental breakfast she served was lovely with yogurt, sweet rolls/muffins, toast, cereals, juice and coffee. A couple of mornings, we were in the mood for eggs and walked the short distance to town for a full breakfast. The distance […] to town from the resort was a definite plus. We LOVED Oaks Bluffs and it was so convenient. We bought a bus pass and the bus, which went right by the resort, would stop whenever you "flagged it" and, using the pass and the transit map, we were able to go all over the island. Before booking Martha's Vineyard Resort, we had considered staying in Edgartown. While Edgartown was lovely, Oaks Bluffs really had that small town, everyone knows everyone, feel. Our stay was wonderful and the Resort was perfect. Thank you Martha's Vineyard Resort and Claudette, for a wonderful stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not even close to worth the price"
If I am going to pay this much for a hotel, I would expect: a working hair dryer, two towels (in a room for two people), a tv newer than 1995, and a "continental" breakfast consisting of more than mediocre coffee and a basket of cereal and yogurt. I would not stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful people. Quiet. Very relaxing. I'd go back in a heartbeat.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place To Vacation"
The hotel is close to all important areas. The staff is kind and accomodating. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel and surrounding area. Walking to town is about fifteen minutes or by taxi much less time. It is safe and most motorist are courteous to the pedestrians. I am looking forward to my next visit in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cottages certainly not three stars"
We stayed in one of the none-attached cottages and found the room to be below three star quality. From the small vanity shelves, to the rust around the shower curtain holder, and the entrance door handle falling off, the room was a bit worn. The staff was nice and the room clean, just not up to the quality of a three star resort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay in Martha's vineyard"
Enjoyed our stay. The owner was very helpful and always nearby when we needed her. (Locked our key in the room). Although our room was small it was very clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely stay at the Martha's Vineyard Resort"
I had read some of the reviews from past guests and found many quite off. Ms. Claudette is an extremely kindhearted individual with a charming B&B - close to many MV locations. I was given plenty of suggestions for transportation, dining options and shopping considerations. I will be returning to Ms. Claudette's B&B soon and she is a large reason why […] I have chosen her location. The breakfast was fine offering the same variety one might find at a Courtyard and the room was comfortable too. The pool table and chess board - and oh yes, the tennis court... a bonus! MV is a older bedroom community that allows people to slow down from their crazy ways of living. Those looking for the Ritz Carlton... go to a larger city! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not really a B&B. Just a basic hotel. Clean but spartan. Furniture tired and old. About a 15 minute walk to downtown Oak Bluffs. Claudette was very nice and friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to town"
We arrived early and were able to store our luggage at desk. When we returned our luggage was in our room. Owner suggested some things to do and where to eat so we tried one that night. Lovely seafood dinner by the water. We were happy with location and staff but room was below our standard and definitely in our opinion overpriced for what it was.Genuine Expedia guest review
Quiet, unassuming ,affordable, clean Inn. We walked into town each morning and took a cab back at night for $6. The public bus will stop at the Inn but only if the driver knows the location. Breakfast was adequate. The owner was very helpful.

My husband and I stayed here recently for our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a fine time. There are only 5 rooms, so it is more like a B &B. Our room was very comfortable. We were in room #1. It was clean, had ac and cable TV. Claudette, the owner was very nice to us. She suggested many places for us to dine. It is a really quiet and relaxing place. I would love to stay there again.
"A Perfect Stay"
07/15/14 LouisanaGirl2014 Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
I stayed at this B&B and got everything I wanted and more. The rooms were clean, the continental breakfast was more than enough, and the porch rocking chairs were exactly what girls "on break" could ask for. This was a "getaway" trip for us (work, husbands, etc.) and Claudette was a gracious host; she supplied our every need and was quite informative. It was such a pleasure to go to breakfast in our PJ's and not feel rushed and hustled by a hotel chain, preparing for the next meal. Sitting on the porch morning and nite was a fabulous experience (we are from the south) and to not be eaten up by mosquitoes was the best part. Close enough to the center of town to walk daily, but far enough away to escape the hustle/bustle of the traffic/tourists. Great service! Overall pleasant experience that we will all do again!!
"A must to visit"

The only down side to Martha vineyard is all the waiting . As you don't know how the traffic is getting there . Really recommend using New England tours get bob to take you on the 3 hour tour he is funny informative helpful and thoughtful . Getting in for lunch is a nightmare as sooooo busy . So take a packed lunch or book in advance . Or like us you are left with 2 hours no where to go sit if you are not shoppers :(
"Claudette is wonderful"
06/30/14 BeenThereDidDat Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This resort is not a 5 star hotel or top of the line bed and breakfast. It is a simple family resort with great service and all the comforts of home. Our room was very clean, the continental breakfast was very well received by my entire family, and anything we needed Claudette made happen right away. She even had beach toys for my daughter which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back. I miss it already.
"Basic but clean"
06/20/14 Sue M Gananoque, Canada
The resort was a disappointment to my husband and I. We had really expected more from the last two reviews. There was a very strange odour that my husband guessed was either mould or mildew. Room was clean, furnishings basic. Continental breakfast was basic. Claudette was friendly and very helpful about suggesting where we could sight see and good places to eat. Air conditioner was noisy at night and woke me up several times.

Our family came here for our first stay in Oak Bluffs and was pleasantly surprised by the family atmosphere along with the clean, affordable and well appointed rooms. Claudette and her staff were always pleasant and quick to be of service with any of our requests, large or small.

Just returned from a weekend that included one night at this "resort." Wonderful inn-keeper and owner, Claudette kindly let us stay one night over the weekend so that we could attend a wedding on Chappaquidick Island. Oak Bluffs was mobbed with day-trippers when we arrived on Saturday. We took a cab to the hotel and found it quiet and relaxing after coping with holiday traffic and tourists. Room #5 was immaculate, well appointed and comfortable; bed was great; Claudette gracious, helpful and accommodating. We would probably not return to MV during the season, but certainly would recommend this hotel for a short or extended stay any time of year that they are open.

Room #6 was perfect. Clean. $1 bus ride 5 blocks to Oak Bluffs town center. Breakfast was continental. Our host Claudette was generous, kind, funny and so sweet. Full bathtub & shower, again very clean. Room had plenty of storage for bags and clothes. Refrigerator. Free WiFi. Wine glasses. Cable TV. I recommend this wonderful B&B.

Just got back from a girls weekend in MV and the least favorite part of the trip was our hotel. The innkeeper was incredibly unfriendly and seemed to be put out by almost every request. Our particular two room suite smelled like cat urine and despite airing out the rooms, spraying Febreeze and lighting candles nothing took the smell away. I would steer far away from this place to have a fully rounded and lovely weekend in the Vineyard.
