When I booked this hotel at US$ 138.00 for 3 days and 2 nights I wasnt expecting much. I just wanted a place to sleep and the most inexpensive price I could price, I must say I was surprised. It is clearly outdated, The carpet in the dining area held an odor, the building lighting was dull, gloomy. The bedding was dingy, the walls needed to be painted, the windows and curtains looked like the originals since it was erected. 4 out of the 8 staff members I encountered were helpful and friendly.

I book a 5-night stay. First night was OK. Second night, a few people in the next room checked in with 2 dogs at 2AM. The dogs chased each other, barked, banning the wall, people talked 'til morning. Third day, at midnight I had to come down and asked for another room. The front desk staff was very nice. She gave me another room, away from the dogs. […] This room looks very clean, but when I pulled the towel down from the racks, dust flied all over me. The room smells very strong smell of smoke although it says "smoking free room" I didn't expect much from a cheap motel, but being able to sleep at night was my priority. when booked said had a coffee pot, microwave and fridge. had none of them. only a quick night stay so could have gone without the microwave and fridge but coffee is a necessity! Bed spread really needs to be made into rags. otherwise for a quick night stay the price was right.

I have stayed at this microtel before and it wasn't the best hotel but it served its purpose.. I decided to stay here again at this particular microtel and it was the absolute worst experience.. The microtel I stayed at in Baltimore in much nicer compared to this place in Henrietta Rochester, NY... The toilet ran all night, there was this tapping annoying […] noise in the ceiling (ALL NIGHT).. The heat took forever to heat the room up.. And I only needed the room for 1 night but I felt the need to notify the staff. When I called the front desk, the staff had the audacity to laugh and just say "OK" as if he didn't even care.. The nerve of him.. I would recommend microtel to people but any other microtel except the one's in Rochester... I've been to 2 so far and they are horrible.. The last one I went to had hairs in the bathroom upon arrival and we were almost completely out of toilet paper.. Talk about poor customer service... Atleast with the one in Victor I got an apology. We had previously stayed in a Microtel that was clean, small, but sufficient. We went back due to the location and cost. We were there for three nights and during the entire stay, we did not have any services such as clean towels, vacuuming, new paper cups, trash removal, etc. at any point. Overall it was ok...a 3. To get a higher # from me the mattresses would need to be replaced with firmer ones. Normally my back is fine but after two nights I was in pain. Glad to be home.Next year's trip to Henrietta I will book a higher priced hotel in hopes of getting a better bed.

The Microtel is a bare basics hotel--no shampoo, no free coffee in the tiny rooms, etc. But the beds are comfortable, the tv is big with lots of cable options, and there is free internet with no hassle. The room was small but had some updates (new tv) so it felt nice. The pillows were terrible, the shower head was even worse and they forgot to clean my room after my first night stay. I was there for 12 nights and it grew on me. The service got better and the hotel is close to many things. I would stay again but I would bring my own pillows.

I have only one complaint about the Microtel Inn Rochester. One whole wall of the room is a "fat mirror." I warn you not to undress while allowing yourself to get a glimpse of yourself in this mirror. This mirror emphasizes every flaw of the human body, enhances the appearance of every smidgeon of cellulite, and generally makes everybody look like a […] disgusting hag . If you think your rear-end is on the wider side, you ain't seen nothing until you've seen it in this mirror! And since it spans an entire wall of the room, it is hard to avoid seeing the hideous person that will look back at you. But other than this complaint, the motel was just fine.
