This hotel offered convenience that I needed. I wasn't expecting much per the other reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and very quiet. The service desk was helpful and the staff was very nice. I will stay there again when traveling to the area!

We have stayed here several times over the past few years. The rooms are small with no frills, but are always clean. However, the rooms are starting to show a bit of wear. We have stayed at this hotel twice in 2011, one room was very comfortable. The mattress was wornout in the other.

I did find that the hotel has the same noise as the last time I staid there. The refrigerator in the room sounds like a ticking time bomb. I also did not need the garbage truck pick up at 5:45 AM. The rooms were clean and for the price a good deal.

When we check in the office staff gave us room 141. When I went to our room the beds where not made and there was a foul smell. I went back to the front office and the girl said she made a mistake and that that room should have been taken out of service..(she made a comment that even the maids would not clean it). I was pleased with the sergvices, location and the room was clean and comfortable. Convienet location with multiple interesting attractions and excellent choices for dining nearby.

Our room was clean and staff were helpful. Disappointed with minimal breakfast, no hot tub or exercise room- very minimal amenities but excellent value if you just need a clean place to stay for a night.

Very clean and very comfortable. Convenient location to hop on any highway. Second stay this year and I will choose this hotel to stay again.

Great little hotel. We have stayed here several times before. The rooms are small, but the rooms are hotel are clean. The mattress was a little soft in this room, but has not been an issue in the past.

THe back door #2 was broken and open 24 hours. the hallway had a odor. The room smelled. The handicap shower had a wooden seat that was used to hold the soap, because there is no soap holder. The seat was stained and disgusting. The floor drain had visible standing water, possibly the source of the odor. I was looking for an inexpensive, clean hotel in a good location for two nights. The photos displayed are deceiving and the rooms certainly do not look as good as the photos. Lobby area is presentable and clean, but that is where it stops. Hallway carpets are old and dirty. My room was on second floor and if it was cleaned, it certainly wasn't cleaned […] thoroughly. The TV is an old 20" inch Zenith on top of the closet and the room with queen bed is very small. Wallpaper was peeling in some locations. When I came back to my room the next night after dinner, I found the bed unchanged and unmade (even though I had left a note to do so). The bathroom was not cleaned and the carpet was not vaccuumed. I called the front desk to complain, but at 7:30 p.m., there was no one left on staff to clean the room. For safety, I would not recommend this hotel to families or women. I also will not return. There is basic and there is basic and then there is Microtel.........cheap and dreary!!!!

The hotel was very close to the area that I needed, it was clean and quite. Breakfast was great too! Would def stay if I go back to Albany.

I have stayed at two Microtels this year, and both met or exceeded my expectations for the price that I paid. They are clean, well-maintained, and friendly. If you need an inexpensive, clean, safe place to stay, this is a very good option.

The room was small but clean and was better than I expected for the cost. TV was small and way up high and there is no elevator. I would still recommend for the value and location (close enough to Rennselaer and shopping.

Room was very clean, smelled clean too. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Room looked exactly as pictured. Location was excellent, easy hop on routes 87, 90 and 787. Would stay there again. Great motel at an affordable price.

Although it was it only an overnight stay and the chain name "Microtel" speaks for itself, I was less than impressed with this chain as a first time user. The room had a stale oder, dust particles in the air, horrible pillows, and bedding smelled as though it were never changed. There was hair throughout the bathroom floor... Disgusting! First let me say the service was very good. The front desk personnel assisted me with printing and photocopying some documents for a meeting, check in and check out were a breeze and everyone was kind and courteous. The room was no-frills, as expected, and everything seemed clean and neat. The problem was the odor. As a non-smoking hotel, the hallways […] smelled an awful lot like cigarette smoke. Moreover, my room had an overwhelming odor of cologne or something perfume-y--almost as if it were to cover something up. I couldn't air it out because the window only opened a crack. Very comfortable bed and room. Nice simple breakfast provided with room. Quiet and close to highway and plenty of shopping/eating within minutes from hotel. Great deal if you're on a budget.

I booked this hotel for a trip I was taking to Cooperstown, to the Baseball Hall of Fame. The hotel was located between my destination and home and I never thought a 4 hour ride each way would be a day trip so Microtel was the answer... I thought. After arriving at the hotel you can notice that its not as nice as the pictures. There were trucks full […] of construction workers in the parking lot drinking beers... I was worried. We checked in and headed to our room- the hallways were full of boxes and bags of linens and other items... our room was small, the carpet old, hair in the sink and tub...it just didnt feel clean. Not somewhere I would slep soundly. It was so much different then we expected that we checked out, losing the money I had already paid, and we headed the 3 hours home! The pictures must have been taken the day the hotel was finished being built...because it is certainly not in that condition anymore! The area had a lot to offer, with a shopping center and restaurants and its right off the highway. But not worth even the cheap rate. There was a couple checking in behind me that looked MORTIFIED. I was surprised at the great rate we got for this modern, clean hotel. It's conveniently located right off I-87 and Route 7 so very easy to find, and centrally located. We stayed 3 nights and took day trips to the Berkshires, Thatcher State Park, the Hudson River Valley and the Erie Canal at Waterford. We stayed there for an overnight while visiting the SUNY Albany campus for graduation. We were pleased with the condition of the building and room. Maintenance was good on the building. The entrance could have been better marked but we did find it eventually. Beds were fine. Breakfast area was a bit small and shared space with the hotel lobby. Do not let the resonable cost fool you, this is a clean/fresh facility. Newly remodeled and great bed and sheets!

For a night on route from Canada to NYC, we have stayed in this hotel. Good place, fair price, nice staff. Breakfast also ok - overall, we can recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at this particular hotel on several occassions. It works great for us in that it is close to the airport and has a nice but spartan continental breakfast. There were no issues checking in or out. the room was clean, bathrooms clean, towels and bed linens were clean with no evidence of bedbugs. we will stay here again with our future vacations […] as we travel out of ALB airport. Nice and quiet hotel in Latham. Located near a shopping center which is great. Nice and friendly staff.

At check-in the reception was pleasant and the appearance of the facility was good for this level of lodging. I was placed in a lock-off unit with double locked doors. Unfortunately I could hear the people next door as if they were sitting right next to me. The stay was fine - listening to the neighbors was disturbing. I've stayed at worse places for more. The room was pretty clean and well maintained but the walls are a bit line. Other than that unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the room its a good place to stay for cheap.

This hotel had what we needed for a place to spend to nights in: a decent bed, a clean bathroom, free wifi, cable channels. I saw some rooms with big flat screen TVs, although ours didn't. But the best aspect by far was the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk people. Our car needed a jumpstart and the person on duty at the time promptly offered […] his own car for that. very good for the money if you're staying in the Latham area

I found this hotel to be very clean and comfortable. We stayed for one night and everything we just as expected. The bed was slightly softer than I would have liked, but I am pretty picky about my bed. Otherwise a very nice hotel and would recommend to anyone who is looking for reasonable accomodations. We will certainly stay there again.
