CASTLE KONA BALI KAI - Hawaii (The Big Island)

There was some street noise but it was one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever had. Beautiful furnishings, decor and layout. Tile in shower was very pretty. Beautiful vew of sunset, what a great deal. Will definitely stay there again.

The room did not give a good first impression. Dirty carpet, table tops (5) and counter tops Curtains missing off the hooks, matress busted, shower door had issues, broken tv remote and closet door. Pictures were crooked, mirrors were not cleaned We were not expecting a newer room but did expect it to be clean. When I reported some of the issues, the […] young lady at the desk stated "this is not a 5 star hotel" I was shocked by that statement and found it to be an unprofessional statement. I did'nt think expecting cleanliness meant only 5 star hotels provided this. We were offer a other room but declined if the items could be taken care by the next morning. We did not know about the bed issue when we declined. The Maintenance crew came bright and early the next morning and fixed what they could but no cleaning crew came so I did my own cleaning. The condo as whole was quaint, the living room and ocean view helped us to look past some of the other issues and aside from the 5 star comment, everyone was friendly and nice. Neeeless to say we most likely will stay elsewhere when we go back. I do not wish to post this review. My hope is that it can serve as a training tool for front desk and house keeping. First impressions are crucial for repeat business and customer satisfaction. Read more

The front desk refused to move us. We asked to switched rooms and they kept saying check back with us 3x a day when they could have just written down our name and called us back. The little dark haired skinny young man at the front desk was especially rude. We had to run the Air Con all night and the fan just so we didn't hear car NOISE on the main […] drag all day and all night..The hotel is like an apartment complex right on the main drag on Alii drive. We had a studio across the street from the ocean and 1-2 bedroom suites - which looked much nicer than ours - if you have the chance, spend the extra money - especially if you are staying for any length of time, and upgrade to the 1-2 bedroom units. Our was OK - just OK- but the personal service was great

Eighter get rid of the word Castle in your name or add it to your sign in front of your hotel. The room was great . It almost makes up for the fact that you go by car for your food or for that matter anything else you might need.

The hotel needs to realize that there no longer is a really good ocean breeze in the oceanfront units. Individual air conditioners or at least more fans could be supplied. The ocean view is breathtaking and if the coolness of that ocean view could be transformed into the unit, then it would be a pretty good place to stay. We arrived about 11:30PM and there was no one there at the desk. After looking around we found a sign that said to pick up for late check in. The person who answered the call was not familiar with the hotel and could not tell us where are building was, just that it was across the street. "Partial ocean view" actually means "you can see some waves if you look down a walking path, past a building, across a street and under another building". "Queen or King bed" only referred to the pull out sofa as the bed in the bedroom was a double. "A/C in unit" worked great for the living room and kitchen area, but the bedroom (with the small bed) […] was sweltering even when the rest of the place was freezing. The grounds were nice and the jacuzzi was relaxing. It's a bit pricey and pretty far south of downtown Kailua-Kona. Also, we checked in late and were told to pick up the phone by the front. We pulled up to the locked gate and I stuck my arm through the gate to fumble for the phone. Eventually a woman picked up and took about 15 minutes to find my reservation (booked a few weeks in advance). She finally found my reservation and listed my room number, building number, and lockbox combo. I confirmed these numbers with her and it ended up that she told me and confirmed with me the wrong room number (117 instead of 171). She didn't know where we should park or any other info. We wandered a bit until a security guard helped us. We found a parking spot sort of near our building but someone was parked in our room's reserved spot (once we figured out our correct room number). Not worth the price or hassle. Also, based on other negative reviews of this property I bet someone representing the hotel will respond to my comment with backpedaling and excuses. Read more

We stayed across the street from the hotel and pool the room had a full Kitchen The bed's Mattress was uncomfortable No maid service You had to PAY for clean towels!!! I'll stay somewhere else.

Hotel très pratique car offre une kitchenette qui permet de ne pas manger tous les jours au restaurant. La propreté laisse à desirer et l'hotel est un peu loin de tout donc la voiture est indispensable.
