Reviewed by N of Worcester on Feb 5, 2008
You cannot fault the situation of this hotel...almost as central as possible. The (costing extra!) breakfast is fine too.. BUT...the decoration is tired, the soundproofing non-existent, one receptionist (not the much more helpful older lady) lacks charm and helpulness, and the situation can also mean noise! So...choose a back room! Reasonable price in January tho!

The Juan Miguel hotel was very centrally located, it was only a five minute walk to the bus station that takes you to the Alhambra. The hotel is also only about a five minute walk to the Cathedral of Granada and the Capilla Real. The room was extremely clean and comfortable and I even had my own balcony in the standard double room. The staff was very friendly and were eager to help when I asked about the bus station to the Alhambra. For anyone going to Granada I also highly recommend going to the Arab Baths, it's only about a seven minute walk from the Juan Miguel Hotel and definetly worth your time and money.

Located on a busy part of town, this hotel was small, cramped, and in complete need of an overall. The air conditioning did not work, the beds were very uncomfortable, the staff didn't know how to fix anything and said they would come up, but had to be asked three times at least. Outside the hotel were street vendors that were a little scary. This was the 6th night of our trip to Spain and all our other hotels throughout the country had been outstanding. Considering this was the most expensive hotel we booked, we were extremely disappointed.

It seems that in Spain, here and there, are unexpected surprises. I found that the Juan Miguel staff was always able to help me in unforeseen ways--they made restaurant reservations for me, for example, and tirelessly answered my questions about transportation and the location of cultural venues, etc. The level of comfort exceeded what I expected. I am very grateful to the Juan Miguel hotel, where I really did feel at home during the xmas holidays.

The location is a 5 min walk to the Cathedral and the plaza (not sure of the name) which was quite pretty with outdoor seating/restaurants. ROOMS: really noisy, not street noise but actual room and building noise: echo from the hallway, the room it self and the TV kept crackling at night! I kept waking up with the noise. It was disturbing. You would need to get an actual key for the in-room safe. STAFF: Their English wasn't so good but we got by. They were not up to date about taxi/bus to Alhambra. We ended getting informed from a local that the taxis had to go outside the city then come back in to get to Alhambra. If you know where the bus stops are, it's much cheaper and quicker to get to Alhambra.

) bekommt.
