"Luxurious hotel with a catch"
Hotel is good but not as good as advertised. No free WiFi, most of the restaurants are either not in package or need a pre reservation, unnecessary heckling to join their lifestyle program (be aware of it). Overall 3 star experience.

"Not happy with stay at all."
The hotel looks unfinished. Rooms are extra small and hot, cleaning service sucked. Don't count on early check-in, called a week in advanced but still had to wait 3 hours in lobby with a 9 month old baby.

"Overall not what we expected"
The side of the hotel we were placed was under construction next door (no relaxation whatsoever) due to all the construction noise. We where offered another room but the noise was the same and the room was worse. The bed cover smelled full of dust, the door to the balcony didn't shut completely, the amenities are old, the bathroom had foul odor, the Mexican restaurant was good but Los Arecifes breakfast buffet was very bad. The entertainment at night was nice (capoeira), but overall it was not a pleasant stay; I believe if they are going through a remodel they shouldn't book that section of the hotel.

"Hotel has 2 parts: Oasis Tulum and Grand Oasis"
We have travelled to many resorts in Mexico and other countries, but this was by far the most disappointing. We booked on Expedia, being attracted by the nice modern design of the resort shown in many images. Upon arrival in the main lobby which in fact looked like in the Expedia images, we were advised that we had to check in in another lobby, which was in a much older part of the resort and hardly deserved the name. More than 80% of the images on Expedia were of the Grand Oasis Tulum, but guests of the Oasis Tulum were not even allowed to even have a drink or to use any of the Grand Oasis facilities. Guests of the Oasis Tulum were only able to eat in a few of the restaurants and bars of the resort. This led to inevitable overcrowding and waiting at peak meal times, made more annoying by the fact that there would be free tables in the reservations only restaurants. There was no "bar area" with seating available for Oasis guests. The beach are available resembled an overcrowded beach chair store, with barely an space to walk between chairs. Staff were friendly and kind, but sadly very understaffed. Everything seemed to be geared to reducing consumption. Some examples are the long wait for coffee, wine and water at the tables, never leaving towels for all the family members sharing a room (we had to go to the reception daily for enough towels as housekeeping never responded to requests).

We experienced all the cons listed by the previous reviewers. Problems with the hot water-check: We didn't have it at all for the first two days. After they "fixed" it, it ran for about 5 minutes, then you have to wait another 5 minutes, then it would run again for another 5 min. Seaweed: Some days more than others. Internet connection: My husband is an avid hockey fan and he bought the access 3 times for one day each. Every time it would freeze during the game which was incredibly frustrating. Huge population of Italians. Its not really a con, it's just that if you have small kids as we do, you should be aware that all of them smoke - men, women, anywhere they found themselves - the beach, the pool, hallways, breakfast table at the buffet. Also we had an unpleasant incident with an Italian guy. We sat next to him at the lounge chair and all of sudden he started to yell at us and I quote:" I don't know what country are you from, but in my country if I first sat on the chair you go and sit 5 meters from me over there." There was no reasoning with him and after that we've been afraid to stand or sit on an empty chairs next to somebody. Yes, this resort is cheaper then others, but the next time I would rather spend a little more money and not wonder how many minutes of hot water I have left.

"Food poisoning"
Our two children: 6 and 8 year old got food poisoning. We had to leave the hotel after two night stay. Neither Expedia nor the hotel were able to reimburse us or find a different hotel. I will write to the Expedia management and the hotel corporate office about our situation separately. As far as the hotel amenities and staff, it is nothing like it was described on their page. There was only one restaurant to eat at, with no service at all. We had to wait to be served water for at least half hour and only after we kept asking for it. The hotel staff is unaccommodating as well.

We didnt realize how far the hotel was from the airport and so the transportation costed a lot more. The hotel itself is good. Half of the staff doesnt speak English but they were still very welcoming and nice. Our room was pretty good but we heard other guests complain about a stench in their room, bad plumbing, broken tv and AC... "Perfect Hotel, Beach, Food and Service"
We Loved the quiet atmosphere within the Oasis Tulum Hotel. Everyone was courteous. The buffet was wonderful (large selection) fresh fruit. The servers were great, someone was always there to provide you drinks. The rooms were clean (great air conditioning) and the cleaning staff was very professional. Our room was a standard room garden view. The beach was beautiful, better than some of the other hotels (did not have sand bag wave stops) perfect for snorkeling (lots of fish). You could take long walks in either direction along the beach. The hotel is close to the Tulum ruins, Coba, Akumal and The Playa del Carmen - you could take a bike from the hotel to the main road and catch a local bus. We will be back and would recommend this hotel to all.

"Oasis Talum, extremely dissapointed will never use"
The moment we registered into the hotel we were informed that we had limited access to the facility. We were only allowed to eat in one restaurant and the buffet area. We ordered a cup of coffee and the waitress charges us $30.00 US for the coffee. I ordered a glas of wine and was charged for a bottle. The plumbing in our room was broken and the repair was poorly done, because we a water drip in the sink. The toilet and water smelled like sulfer, it was very difficult to stay in the room with the window closed. We had no hot water in the morning and when we did have water it was slightly warm. We were so dissapointed on the reception staff, they were very arrogant and they made extra effort to make sure we would not cross over to the "grand" section. I will nevery use this facility again!

"Great stay in Tulum, Mexico!"
My family and I recently stayed at the all-inclusive Oasis Tulum for the first time. And, I can say we had a great time. The hotel is located on a beautiful, soft sandy beach. The food was delicious and the nightly shows were really quite entertaining. The pool area is really nice. Our room was clean and comfortable, but a little tired. New towels are definitely in order. Also, WI-FI needs to be upgraded. However, the staff and service are outstanding. Each day we were greeted with happy smiles. There are a few people I'd like to really acknowledge for their great service: Emmanuel, our waiter in the Arrecifes Terraza; Guillermo at the pool bar; our waiter Manuel in the Mexican restaurant, Sarape; Irma in housekeeping; Tiburcio and Mariscena in Sarape; Ronaldo in the Italian buffet and Hector and Ricardo in entertainment. Our time in Tulum was too short! We definitely want to come back!

Check-in was bad, room not ready in time and nobody showed us to the room. Once in the room, no towels. "LOVED the staff!!"
We would definitely stay at the Oasis Tulum ONLY because the staff was so AWESOME. The water heater didn't work very well, so we didn't always have hot showers. The refrigerator barely worked, so our food/water really were not cold. There were many Italian sporting speedos. But those three things aside, our stay was incredible. The beach was beautiful. The staff could not have been more friendly and fun. Hector & Ben made sure we had fun every day we hung at the pool. Joel, who ran the snorkeling/diving stand was incredibly helpful and super nice. The staff at the buffet worked so hard and made us feel at home.

"Decent"
We were deciding between two resorts. Our final decision was the fact that Oasis Tulum had a sushi bar. However, it turns out, that sushi bar is closed part of the year. We also did not realize there was a separate part of the hotel: "The Grand Oasis." We made friends with some people who were staying on the Grand side. One evening we walked up to one of theirs bars. The bartenders ignored us for quite some time (we had no idea we weren't allowed to order from their bars), and when they finally acknowledged us and we asked for a cup of coffee, we were told 1) they didn't have coffee (which was fine) 2) that we needed to leave - we didn't have the right wristband. Had they simply explained the situation, it wouldn't have been so bad, however, the bartenders were very condescending and rude. The saving grace was the hotel staff on the Oasis Tulum side. Everyone was very pleasant and anxious to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

"My summer vacation"
Oasis Tulum All Inclusive is very dishonest. When we booked a week vacation with them this summer, we saw beautiful photos from their Bar, lobby, and restaurants. However, those photos were not from the Oasis Tulum All Inclusive, but from the Grand Oasis Tulum, which is another all-inclusive hotel next door probably from the same owner/corporation. Besides that, not everything is all inclusive as they claimed there is because there is a limitation of food. For example, we only could have four bottles of water per day in our room and on top of that, the service is poor. In addition to that, they claimed that they have a night club, which is really a theater full of chairs with plain music, and a big screen. Since there was nothing else to do at night, we went there a few nights, but who ever came to the club would leave at the same time because it was so boring.

"Good value, nothing fancy"
We have stayed at several hotels in the mayan riviera. The Oasis Tulum is smaller than most and not at all fancy but overall a good value. The food is about average for an all inclusive resort. The beach is it's best feature. Nice floury sand, lots of space and a pretty good snorkeling reef right off the beach. There are some close coral/rock areas for kids or those who don't want to swim out farther and a large more lively reef about 200 yards off shore. Hardly anyone bothers to go out there so the coral it is not too trampled and you pretty much have the whole area to yourself. However, they do offer free snorkeling tours out there 3 times a day if you prefer to go in a group. There is a smallish pool right on the beach which is nice if you like to go back and forth often between the beach/pool and also a larger pool inland that has a swim up sushi bar. Both the pools and ocean water were very warm--probably 90 degrees! If you want a more luxury experience, you can upgrade to the neighboring Grand (either entirely or by the day) but the pool areas don't seem as kid friendly (we have a 5 year old). We visited during the summer and although the room AC was fine, the inside dining areas weren't really cooled at all and the outside areas didn't get much of a breeze. This is one area where the Grand was much better. Their outside eating areas had a better view and were positioned to get ocean breezes. The shows were pretty decent--theater was shared with the Grand.

"Perfect vacation spot"
We had an amazing time at the Oasis Tulum. The location is private, clean, and so beautiful. You really feel like you're in paradise. The sounds of ocean and exotic birds were so relaxing. We didn't want to leave. The food was great. We ate at Arrecifes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a wide variety of food and it was very fresh. We also ate at Sarape which serves authentic Mexican food and had a live Mariachi band. The band was great. The staff is kind, friendly, and fun. They were always ready to assist and in certain cases went above and beyond the call. We were amazed at how hard the staff worked to keep the hotel and surrounding grounds clean. Thank you Angel, Oscar, and Juan from the front desk. Thank you Angel from Oasis Plus. Thank you Emmanuel from Arrecifes. Thank you Miguel and Angeles from the beach bar. You all are amazing hard working people. We went on the Mayan Adventure tour and which was excellent. Our guide Demitri aka Demi was great. He has a way of making a bunch of strangers feel comfortable with each other and just have a good time. Demi is knowledgeable, fun, and so kind. If you can ask for Demi, you'll laugh all day. He really took care of our group and checked on our members several times through the tour. The location was beautiful and filled with amazing sights. "Five Star Week"
We just spent a week at Oasis Tulum (not the Grand side) for a family "girl's holiday." It was incredible! No hassles or lack of amenities at all (and I came prepared for them). Lovely big oceanfront rooms. The only thing I would have wished for was a rug at the door for brushing off sand. Service staff were friendly & accommodating, and the activities staff (notably Hector, Pepe, and Domina the dance instructor) were delightful. The beach and reef are everything they say and more. May have been a slow week but never once did we have trouble finding a place to lay at the beach or pools--and we didn't once get there before 10 AM to stake our claim :-). Just sitting on the beach, watching the sea, was restful and rejuvenating. Bartenders Carlos, Ricardo, and Reynaldo were charming. Would have been nice had the pool bars stayed "officially" open past 5 PM, but a sense of humor, charm, and tipping U.S. $1 or so per drink (and please do tip, staff work hard) went a long way (Gracias, Ricardo!). Quality and generosity of drinks and food was great. Buffet had many choices available for all meals and the food was tasty with a yummy assortment of pastries, breads, and fresh fruits at all meals. Sushi bar at the activity pool was great--I recommend the octopus ceviche and vegetarian roll (cone). Dos Lunas (Italian) was magnificent. Serape (Mexican) had a marvelous ambiance. I was not terribly impressed by the Brazilian, but others were. Don't miss the fire show on the beach!

"Amazing Resort."
Our experience was just short of amazing. Aside from being shorted the benefits of the full resort, we managed to go snorkeling on the beach wherein pools of different types of fish approach you when you feed them oatmeal, drank all day and night (be sure to order a caipirinha), spent most of the day tanning on the beach, traveled to the Tulum Ruins, which are just 20 mins away, traveled to Playa Del Carmen which is about 30 mins away, attended the nightly shows, which I should mention could be IMPROVED by hiring an MC, and gazed at the stars at night. It was an amazing resort, although slightly misleading. From the reservation, you're led to believe that you have access to the entire resort, but it's actually broken up into 3 sections, in which you only have access to yours. Regardless though, your portion of the resort is sufficient enough to have an amazing time. The staff is super friendly, the food is great, the pool is beautiful and the beach is amazing.

"Great Vacation!"
Oasis Tulum is great getaway for those who are looking to relax, enjoy great food & love the beach! The beach was large & gorgeous. There were lots of chairs & on only one day of our eight did we see any seaweed that the staff worked hard to clean up. If you enjoy eating outside with a beautiful ocean view you will LOVE Oasis Tulum! They have a great patio next to the beach outside of the buffet with lots of seating right next to a drink/sushi bar. They sushi was delicious! We decided to go offline for the week but checked our emails on the free computer in the Grand Oasis lobby. If you want to explore Tulum or Playa de Carmen take the bus, it's not your average crowded transit bus it's a shuttle van with air conditioning, it costs around $3 USD and they come every 10mins. Ask a bell boy for a ride to the main road. The rooms were spacious & clean. When we arrived there was a bottle of Champaign on ice waiting for us in our room. I our fridge was stocked daily with water, pop & beer. There were bikes & kayaks onsite to use at your leisure. If you enjoy Lattes, Frappuccino's & Americanos you'll love the Coffee & Me bar. The Sugar Free Vanilla Latte was my favorite. They served red & white wine with both Lunch & Dinner. The waiters were always very attentive & polite. There were no line ups to book a la carts, they had a designated desk in the lobby where you made reservations. On the day you wanted to go you just stop by & make a reservation. The pool bar was fun!

""Oasis Hates You""
We were lucky and were upgraded to Grand Oasis Palm Beach, we stayed for 2 weeks Christmas and New Year. The hotel is not suited for the number of people staying there, there are line ups everywhere. Sometimes to get snacks you need to be in the line for 30 mins!!! To get into restaurant for breakfast another 30 mins. Beach is the different story, if you are not there by 9 am, you won't be able to get a bed, also if you somehow get a hold of the bed, there is no place to put it. The beach is so tiny and overcrowded. Also there is nothing to do in the evenings, the shows end by 10 pm and BTW they repeat them every week not as other resorts every second week, and you end up in the bar drinking.

"Disappointing service"
My two young daughters and I arrived on a Tuesday in July, and a few hours later the power went out. Several guests left the resort that evening and were transported to another resort, I waited at the front desk for 2.5 hours to see if this was an option for us, but was just continually told that 'they were working on it'. The power was out from that Tuesday and was still out on the Friday afternoon when we eventually were transferred by the hotel to the Grand Oasis in Cancun. We therefore had no air conditioning, and no light in our room. Everyone congregated in the lobby each evening since it was the only place with light, and as the days without power went on, food choices dwindled to the point that on the last day for lunch our only option was a burger or guacamole (not what I paid for). The sand, water and the beach were lovely and the only thing that kept us going. This trip was a disappointment. The resort we relocated to was nice, however, I had not intended to vacation in Cancun. Understandably, this was out of the control of the staff, however I did expect better service and some sort of compensation offered for this experience.

"Zweiklassengesellschaft"
