No internet connection available. Nobody at the front desk. No coffee at breakfast ? Questionable cleanliness of the room and bed. Front door locked at 8:30, nobody to open it. Worst hotel I've been in a long time. Price way too expensive.

The staff were very helpful and gave us a room specific to our needs. The rooms at the front of the hotel (like ours) have balconies overlooking the river and locks, really nice. Those at the rear overlook the back of a supermarket. Hot cooked food at breakfast very tasty but don't get there too late.

The location is not disclosed in their profile and the location is not great. This motel is in behind some stores and is in an Industrial type area, the view from the motel is not the greatest. We also found the bed too firm and too small it was suppose to be a queen size but it was more like a double size, we have a queen size bed at home and it is […] considerably larger than at the motel. We did also find the doors both to the room and to the balcony were very hard to open. The motel on a positive note was clean and tidy and the couple of staff members that we did see were friendly, and check in/out went very smooth and quick. The room was very nice and clean, although we were originally given a key a room that already belonged to someone else. When we returned to the front desk she upgraded the room for our inconvenience. The breakfast times were much too early for a sunday morning. Everyone seemed to show up at 9:00, and the food was very scarse.

This hotel has all of the potential to be a top notch hotel. But is seems to have been let go. Location is great. Situated overlooking the Rideau Canal. Building looks like its crumbling concrete. The interior of the hotel is old. Looks like a flashback from the 70's. Badly needs updated. The room was fairly clean, other then a few lightbulbs were out […] and we found a piece of something stuck in the bathroom sink hole. Kinda grossed us out. The elevator seemed so tiny and slow. We ended up walking the stairs after our 2nd experience of the elevator. The beds were clean and comfortable, thats about the only positive we found.. My family would not book to stay here again. We were booked on the Saturday night of the long weekend. You think the hotel would be packed, but we didnt many other guests and the hotel gave us an eerie feeling. Reasonable price, comfortable, great view of locks and canal, enjoyed the balcony, fine for 1 night stay. Service was acceptable, did request to have small fridge in room as not all come with one. (Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada)

Our stay was just for a few days however we found the room clean, the Inn pleasant and the view from the balcony very refreshing. The Inn staff were helpful, and overall was an enjoyable trip. The best was the restaurant food, which was excellent beyond description. We had the steak dinner, done to perfection and very tasty. Smith Falls is the ugly cousin of Perth. If at all possible choose to stay there (as per locals of SF). If you must stay in Smith Falls, choose the Holiday Inn. I would not go back to the Comfort Inn if it was free. The place has not been renovated since the early 70s and the front desk attendant is the same one who has to clean the rooms. This is an older hotel and it is showing its age, but the view is nice from the rooms and the location is good once you get out from behind the strip-mall, lots of restaurants and shops and the park and canal locks are all within easy walking distance. Don't expect much more than a place to sleep for the night, and you won't be disappointed.
