Well located, close to the central train station, the cathedral, the bridge and the old district. Our room was small but well lit with a very nice large window facing the station. The hotel is within 5 minute walk to train station, on a small triangle of land surrounded by busy roads. So, convenient, but very loud. Room was clean, modest, very good use of space, but quite small. Staff was busy, so somewhat abrupt when asked questions. The area is a 'Little Italy' with decent restaurants, though it didn't feel very safe. Booked the hotel based on the low cost. Excellent location, just around 300 m from the main train station, but on a quiet street. You hear the trains very far. My room faced the street and it was on the ground floor so I had to keep the window closed when out. No air conditioning, although the specs said "climate control" its only a heater and I went […] in summer. Room was clean but had that old 1970's odor. I went out and bought a fragrance spray to kill the odor. Went out, and when I returned, the room had been cleaned but my spray was gone. Apparently cleaning staff thought it was theirs. Bed was very small and the TV was very 1980's. Bathroom old. Staff was corteous and welcoming. The wi fi was VERY fast, and the breakfast is one of the best I've seen in a hotel. In the end it was a win win, I guess. Good clean place to sleep since I was most of the day outside. Although you get to see all of Cologne in one day. Would i recommend it? yes. This hotel is about 5-10min walk from the train station, which is why we chose it. The room we had was extremely spacious which was made staying there very comfortable. A nice breakfast buffet was included with our stay, not one of those sad continental breakfasts you get at a lot of North American hotels either.

The hotel is only about a 5 minute walk from the train station, the main cathedral, and the art museums around it. The wifi worked good, front desk staff was helpful. Let me start by saying this is a nice hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was amazingly great. The room was pretty good size. The hotel is very close to the HBF train station and the Cologne Cathedral. However, this is part of the problem. To get to the hotel you can of high to go up the street and then over and back down […] in a U shape. This won't make any sense until you actually go, but the issue is you end up adjacent to the train station which means you will hear trains constantly. This wouldn't be such a big deal except for the fact that the standard rooms do NOT have Air Conditioning! Despite what the room description says only the upgraded rooms in the newer part of the hotel have AC. So we had to have our windows open at night and it was noisy as heck. My wife could not sleep at all. Combine the above with the fact that the bed was not comfortable at all. It was very very firm and the pillows were terrible. For these reasons I cannot recommend this hotel even though it was conveniently located, everyone was nice, and the breakfast was great. Read more

A great hotel. The room was simple and modern with plenty of space. Although the hotel is close to the main train station in Cologne, the neighborhood is quiet at night. The breakfast bar was fresh with a fantastic variety of fruits, cereals, breads and meats. A great experience!

The hotel was near the main train station in Cologne. It was quite good for one-night stay. It's not that different from typical European hotels (smaller rooms than in the US and smoking allowed somewhere in the lobby). The buffet breakfast was excellent. I'd stay again at this hotel.

Nice hotel. Very modern. We really appreciated the free internet service. Our laptop broke but the hotel had two computers for guest use. The breakfast was the best we had had anywhere during out six week trip to Europe. Also, the woman at the reception desk was so nice and spoke perfect English. She even helped translate the dinner menu for us.

This hotel is supposed to be very trendy and posh but in actuality is right on the edge of the city center and if you were to walk 2-3 mins past the hotel you would be in a pretty ghetto area.
