This hotel is adequate and that's all. The shower had no hot water in the middle of the day. The evening front desk clerk was bordering on rude and I had to repeat several questions to her. The manager was not present on a saturday and wasn't available until monday.

The hotel is very convenient to Vanderbilt and reasonablely priced. The room was very clean and comfortable. The parking garage is cramped and there is not adequate space when the hotel is full. Most of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful; but I agree with earlier reviews that the breakfast chef goes out of his way to be unpleasant.

Location, was close to down town . Cab drive was around $5.00 to get downtown, cab drivers were excellent. The hotel room needed carpets cleaned and the bedding needs new linens and comforters. Parking was free in a parking garage.

We went down for the Hawks game and stayed in the Vandy area this time as all of downtown was booked 4 months in advance. It is 1mile off of Broadway and is only a $5.60 cab ride. The hotel is about $50-$60 cheaper per night because it is not downtown, but the parking here is FREE. Parking at the downtown hotels is an additional $20/per night. The service was excellent. All of the staff that I met was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar looked and smelled delicious, but unfortunately I didn't have time to take advantage of it. Nice location and convenient to downtown, and decent room. However, the "shuttle" service aparently stopped running before the sceduled time, and it took calling the front desk three times to get a cab, as they kept hanging up instead of offering to help. Awesome! Had a great time, this is a great location with restaurants all around, walking distance to Vanderbilt and cheap cab to downtown Nashville. Hotel front desk staff were less than curtious, especially Richard. The maids were the nicest people on the staff! The shuttle should go to downtown, it's only a mile.

We were looking for somewhere close to Broadway and the football stadium. A little over a mile walk, so not too bad. I think it was a little overpriced the weekend we stayed, but basically the whole city was full, so we couldn't be picky. It was an average hotel that offered free breakfast, which was nice....until the made to order cook did not take […] orders and took about 10 minutes for each order he decided to take. This is just a very servicable place located within walking distance of one edge of Vandy campus and Baptist hospital. Nice comp breakfast is overwhelmed by one poor but calm, friendly guy trying to make custom hot food for everyone. Approach takes one through fairly dismal part of town, but easy drive to "main drag" with all the noisy music bars.

This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Nashville so you can get to surrounding universities, shopping, tourist sites, etc. very easily. This hotel is older and the rooms has a bit of a musty smell in places, elevator has paneling and rooms are painted gold and garnet so a bit dark in the rooms. There are no irons and ironing boards in the room […] but they must be checked out at the front desk and there is one ice machine for the hotel, located in the lobby area. Good things about it are the cappucino machine in the lobby which dispenses free cappucino at any hour and the breakfast which is free and includes hot items like omelets (chef to prepare and you pick your filings) and waffles (also made by the chef so it can slow down the process). Although it was not a great hotel it was one of the most cost effective in the downtown Nashville area and served its purpose. Read more

Very impressed with this hotel. Small, quaint, clean and in a great location. The only down fault I had was the AC- was not controlled by the room (comfortable but I like it super cold at night), and no iron and iron board in the rooms. You had to call for it.

Overall the stay was nice; the staff was courteous and the breakfast was excellent. The place could use some cosmetic repairs, but it was still nice. The only complaint I might have is that the bed was a bit uncomfortable; I didn't sleep well.

We were there for graduation weekend, so everything was super busy. The hotel is so conveniently located close to Vanderbilt that it made life that much easier. For the price and location of this place, it's a great value. Not a whole lot of excess but the rooms are very comfortable and clean and you're within walking distance of Vandy and downtown. We would definitely stay there again but beware of the Nashville hotel tax, it's about 17% so be prepared for a bloated bill.

A comedy of errors is a kind phrase for the absolute disaster that was my stay at this hotel. Every interaction with anyone on staff at resulted in confusion and frustration. Upon arrival, the desk clerk failed to acknowledge me for nearly 10 minutes while he was on the phone. After a long overdue greeting, he informed me that I had cancelled my reservation […] (untrue), but fortunately he was able to find it when I produced my confirmation printout. He claimed not to have my credit card information, however after calling my card company, a hold had been placed on my card. To avoid any potention billing issues, we used my partner's Amex. The stench in the lobby was unbearable and the assistant desk clerk was mopping the lobby bathroom which apparently had overflowed. Upstairs, the mildew smell was nearly as bad, and it was obvious that this building was overdue for some much needed maintenance and renovation. We were heading to the Vanderbilt campus and were informed that a shuttle would be available and waiting for us at the front desk, but when it was nowhere to be found and hotels.com had listed it as within walking distance of the University, we decided to walk. Through over half a mile of alleyways and bad neighborhoods, we finally reached the campus. When we arrived back to the hotel, we requested the front desk to call a cab for us go out for dinner in the downtown area. The cab did not arrive for over an hour and we were the only guests waitin gfor cab service at the time. The next morming, the cleaning crew greeted us as we were departing and asked us our room number. When provided, the housekeeper stated that we were slated to remain until the following day, according to her schedule. When we arrived downstairs, the desk clerk asked if the room was to remain on the Visa on file (the card that they had earlier claimed to not have).
