Wonderful hotel for 3 night stay. Close to city centre which is walkable and transport links are great with train station and metro across the road. Hotel staff were nice and room accommodated the three of us perfectly.

"Lovely hotel in great location!"
Me & my boyfriend visited Hotel Acta Madfor in May '15 & were extremely impressed by the hotels location, interior & facilities. The hotel was situated across the road from the Principe Pio station which made getting to the hotel from the airport & travelling around the city extremely easy - that said we hardly used the underground as the hotel was only a short walk to the centre & attractions which was ideal for us. There is a big supermarket next to the hotel, shopping centre across the road & bars & restaurants were in close proximity which was convenient . The hotel itself seemed newly decorated with a trendy yet cosy feel & the bedroom & bathroom were very clean. The beds were comfy & the room had blackout curtains - It was also peaceful at night which all combined made it very easy to get to sleep. The only negative point was that our room seemed to be near the cleaning cupboard & the door to this slammed shut a few times during the early morning which woke us up. There was free wifi throughout the building & the communal areas including the chill out room (which had sofas, computers, books etc in it) & roof top seating area were both nicely decorated & kept very tidy. The hotel had large lockers to store your luggage if required, which we thought was great as it meant you didn't have to wait to drop off/retrieve your luggage. The staff that we had interactions with all seemed friendly & helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of food including hot foods, col

"Nice hotel in a different location"
This hotel is in quite a different location to others in Madrid but we actually enjoyed where it was. It is a close enough walk into Puerta de Sol and Gran Via (15-20 mins) and then onto the Paseo del Prado but it is also close enough to the Teleferico and the Casa del Campo if you want to go into those (we headed to the zoo). Madrid is such a brilliant walking city or with good transport links (only used the Metro once but it was easy) and the Principe Pio station is right across the road for getting around. There is a lot of space for walking around in a great area. The hotel itself is nice. We had the eight floor with fantastic views to the Royal Palace and the Casa del Campo. The room had lots of space. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn't do a whole lot to cool the room down (watch I guess if going in the summer) but the window let some cool air in. Staff were generally friendly and efficient. There was a big area in the hotel for lounging around but we spent most of our time out and about. The hotel also had a left luggage area (you can store suitcases in lockers for €2). We didn't have breakfast as we were able to get pastries and such from the supermarket next door as we wanted to explore whilst we were around.

We had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. I would highly recommend it to everyone. I am planing my next trip back already . It's a 20 minute walk to the city centre. Staff are so friendly, rooms are spotless clean. The living room is a perfect meeting place when traveling with friends.

"Wouldn't stay again"
I stayed here for 4 days in March as part of a solo visit to Madrid. I would say there are lots of little things that mean this hotel is fine, but not great or even good. I was given a twin room rather than a double, and apparently no different rooms were available, the wifi barely worked in my room, the walls are paper thin (so much so that I could hear both of my neighbours snoring all night), the staff don't look after your key when you go out and the cleaners are stupidly early (half past 8 in the morning). The breakfast is good and the location is great as it is opposite a key metro station, but I think somewhere closer to the actual city centre would be better.

"birthday weekend trip"
the hotel was lovely and the location is a big plus because it is central to almost everything. there are very good local restaurants nearby and it is just right across the Principe pio station. the view fro. the hotel is quite good especially from the terrace in the uppermost deck and the balcony in the room offers a goof view of the Rio Madrid area. Two things we weren't very keen about were the noise in the hotel area during daytime, which was a pain especially if you have been out for a late night. Also there wasn't any complimentary coffee, tea etc in the room. You have to go down to the lounge area and buy from vending machine or buy your own outside. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

"Excellent hotel with fabulous location!"
Firstly, the location of the hotel was perfect! From the moment we got out of Princie Pio Metro Station which is literally opposite the hotel, I knew we'd have an amazing holiday. Inside the hotel the staff were friendly and the cleaner even gave me a brief lo-down as to what she thought I should see in Madrid, such as the museums and the Retiro Park! The room facilities were basic, no tea making facilities, but a good tv, only Spanish channels. However an amazing bathroom with an impeccable shower and great bathroom design, as if the bathroom was 5*. The wifi however... Well that was a pain in the back. If you're wifi dependant and you like to update Facebook and Twitter, maybe even watch a YouTube video, good luck! The wifi drops out frequently and there isn't much you can do. On the L floor the hotel has a small cute rest room, which has a few sofas and more importantly two desktop pc's which have their internet connected, the one on the left is a Spanish pc and the right is English. Or you could use Starbucks or McDonalds wifi which is in the shopping centre 30 seconds away facing the hotel, to us British people, it's like a flipping Westfields! It's amazingly big and has great stores! Our room was on the 6th floor, room 608. It doesn't have a balcony but to be honest, we could still see the Palace of Madrid to the right and an even better view watching people walk around the centre of Princie Pio station. From the airport the journey is 40 minutes, 8pink then 10blue.

"Overall OK, safety & poor service with reception"
Very good location as also highlighted by others. Rooms are clean and fresh. The storage lockers for 2 Euros are very convenient to use. The main negative experience is with blackout for approx 1.5-2 hrs without any update from hotel. Went to front desk and he says he is the only one in the hotel and cannot walk away from the reception and claims another guy will be arriving in 15mins. It seems that black out was partial to some rooms as other hotel guests we spoke to was ok with their lights. No further communication /update was received by hotel staff that night or next day.

"Close to Metro"
The Hotel Acta Madfor was close to good restaurants and just steps across the Street from the Metro - an exceedingly convenient way to access most of the sights of Madrid. Our room had a balcony and comfortable beds and pillows. Lots of fluffy white towels in the modern and very clean bathroom added to our comfort. The bathroom contains a large, glassed shower with rain head as well as hand held shower wand. There is a very spacious area on the second floor for guests, with a number of couches, tables and a coffee machine. Also located in this area are two computers and a printer for the use of guests. The friendly folks at the front desk are most helpful and willing to do what they can to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel has a breakfast room, however we chose to have our breakfast in one of the restaurants nearby.

"Good facility, but room soundproof is poor"
Stayed for 4 night for a conference trip in Madfor. The location of the hotel is really good for getting around the city and room is reasonably clean. Facilities in the first floor lounge is very impressive. However the downside is the noise, for the room is not sound-prove at all. I could clearly hear next door guest mobile phone vibrating and entire following conversation. Noise from footstep and door slamming open and close in the corridor at night is unbearable. Additionally, if need store luggage a 2 Euro NON-REFUNDABLE charge is applied, which is not very pleasant at all.

"Great hotel"
We stayed for one week, and had two rooms, both on the first floor, so not great views but no lift noise or noise from the street. The only comment I would have is about the room doors - they all seem to squeak. If they all got a quick squirt of WD40, it would make the world of difference. Apart from that, it was a great location, we felt safe out and about at night, and there is a cafe next door which served a fantastic breakfast at a fraction of the one the hotel offers - so that comes highly recommended!

"Good value for money"
The hotel is not directly in the city centre, but it's very easily reachable via the metro as there is a station exactly opposite. The interior of the hotel is nice and modern. The living area above reception was very nice just to relax if you have some time to kill. The staff were ok, didn't have any issues with them. Having said that people in Madrid were generally quite grumpy so the staff looked like the happiest, friendliest people in the city by comparison. The room was comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis which was great. On our first night the fire alarm went off a couple of times because of a fault, but they were quick to fix it. I didn't mind, it was actually good to know that it worked and that it was loud enough to wake us if the worst was to happen! We didn't have the breakfast as at 9.5 euros it wasn't expensive but can get something for half the price in the city centre. My only comments would be that in the bathroom the paint was peeling off the ceiling from the humidity of the shower (could do with a lick of paint/better ventilation/dehumidifier). There is lots of space so if they could include a fridge and a kettle with some coffee that would be a great bonus. But for the price we paid the hotel room & facilities met our expectations. :)

"4 nights in Madrid"
I chose this hotel as I wanted something away from the hustle of the centre but within easy reach. We had a family room for me, my mum and my son - 3 single beds which was perfect. You could easily have pushed two together if you had been a couple. Fresh towels and bedding every day. Lovely luxurious shower room. Very little English spoken by anyone other than reception but the lovely lady at breakfast really appreciated us making an effort to speak Spanish. This was the perfect location for exploring Madrid - right opposite Principe Pio station and the metro system was really easy to use and super speedy - taking the metro to the airport took less than an hour!

never having been to Madrid we were not sure about the location of this hotel but it was perfect . Opposite the metro and the bus station with large shopping mall. Lots of restaurants close by and lovely river walks. Large parks just around the corner. Not far from the cable car. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.and gave us lots of useful tips and directions. Buffet breakfast was better than we expected with scrambled eggs and bacon as well as cold meats and cheese. Room was lovely, large and clean with large double shower in the bathroom. Safe was free( unusual these days). "Great place"
Beautiful room on the top floor with a view of the river, nice communal balcony with a view of the palace. pleasant reading/working area, good wifi. Says the rooms are air conditioned (which they are) but no way of adjusting each room. If I had to fault it, I would say that the staff, and a lot of services around Madrid, are different to deal with in that they take their time dealing with you, prefering to finish what they're doing first and will expect you to talk to them when they appear not to be paying attention to you. Just across the road from the metro, this hotel is ideal for anyone staying in Madrid. Safe area with nice restaurants nearby, next to a supermarket: overall great place and will definitely stay here again.

"City Break"
A conveniently situated hotel for exploring the city as it has a Metro station - Principal Pio - across the road. Buy a multiple number of Metro tickets from the machines ( easy to use because you can click for an English translation ) and you save loads of euros per journey - eg.- 10 journeys for 12 euros and the ticket can be shared over the machine! There is an airport tax of 3 euros per person on top of the 12 euros. The hotel is modern with ample space in rooms and en-suite. Lounge area where there are facilities to purchase tea and coffee - milk and sugar provided and other vending machines for soft drinks and water. Next door is a cafe where breakfast ( cafe, toast or croissant, and freshly squeezed orange juice ) can be enjoyed for 3.5 euros. Ask for room on higher floor with balcony - stunning views of Real Palace from floor 8 terrace! Best places to eat for atmosphere around 'Opera' - one station away from Principal Pio.
