Check in was easy, desk staff person was very helpful. Checkout again was very easy with very friendly desk person. The room was clean and comfortable. All in all, I was very satisfied, thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lord Elgin. The beds were comfortable and our room was very clean. However, the clerk that checked us in was not very friendly. I tried to ask for dinning options and was handed a map and told that I could fine restaurants down further on Elgin Street. That was all she would tell me, no true suggestions as to which one to go to or even the types available. The next morning the clerks were very helpful and friendly. Other than that it was great, and we found it close to the NAC and Parliment Hill which was what we wanted. Shopping is also close by.

"If you want an outdoor pool..........."
This hotel was fine - we chose it because it had an outdoor pool. Although the pool was older and the chairs were not the bet (most were broken), it was nice and quiet, adn the water was wonderful. they had a lifeguard as well. We got what we wanted from it. Surprisingly, the restaurant is quite good. We had a really nice dinner there with nice wine, […] and the continental breakfast was great for my husband - he declared it to have the best croissants he has ever eaten. i had the buffet instead, with my eggs cooked to order (the scrambled "eggs" on the buffet were way overcooked both mornings). The rest of the buffet food was good, and they took $4 off since I opted out of the complimentary continental. Everyone was very nice and accommodating at the hotel, which made up for it being a pretty dated property. Also, road construction in the area looks like it will continue for a long time yet - that was a bummer. Overall, though, not bad for the price. Read more
"Clarion Hotel and Conference Center"
The staff were friendly and helpful with checking us in. The room was clean. The hotel isn't too far of a drive from downtown Ottawa. The hotel restaurant staff were very friendly and suggested good sights to check out around town. The complimentary breakfast was pretty sizable.
