"Reliable good things"

Usual reliability. Pleased to get in at short notice, having returned to Germany to recover our vehicle. Parking outside only for vehicles higher than 1.8m, free from 2100-0800 hrs, found in local streets. Walkable into city centre and Altstadt. Civilised bar.
"Great location, comfortable hotel"

We have just spent four nights at the Ibis Cologne Centrum. Check in was a breeze, friendly helpful staff on the front desk. Room was small but perfectly formed, everything you needed was there, and spotlessly clean. The hotel is in a great location, Barbarossa Platz is very convenient for getting about and for the great nightlife of the Belgian quarter. The city centre is a few stops away on the U Bahn. All in all a really good hotel and we can highly recommend a stay there if you're ever in Cologne.
"Small but good value"

€65 for a decent hotel with a good location in any English city would be unheard of so this Ibis is good value. A few stops on U16 or U18 from the central station,it is a good location for central Cologne/Koln. At check in they allow you to pay for your entire stay which makes check out quick and avoids the bizarre system of charging your card on arrival (and giving you it back a week later) and again on departure. The staff all speak very good English. The hotel had a modern clean feel to it. The bar was overpriced (as all hotel bars are). The breakfast buffet at €10 (kids half price) was very good with large selection of meats, eggs, breads, cereals and fruit. The rooms were tiny with the bathroom not much bigger then a train/aeroplane toilet. Despite the small rooms the beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and TV had a good selection of channels. Would definitely recommend.
"Unfair breakfast offer!"

Please consider a more presentable breakfast for guests who have to travel early.I was made to pay for bed and breakfast and I informed them that am leaving early at 5am but all that was available was juice and a bun!
"Good value clean and functional hotel near the centre of Cologne"

Stayed here from 31st Jan for 4 days while working at the exhibition centre. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Sound proofing is brilliant. Wasn't aware when I paid in advance that there were 'local taxes' to pay. If you do need to get a taxi in the morning a good tip is to pre book it the previous day as not many drive by. Pasta Bar is a brilliant restaurant nearby and well worth a visit.
"Poor value for money I had to pay"

I stayed at Ibis during a trade fair week which resulted in a very high rate, but to be honest the room wasn't worth even half of that price. Service at reception was very good and the reception area looked modern and welcoming which contrasted with other parts of hotel which look old and not fresh. Hallway in front of my room smelled bad with some very strong cleaning detergent. Room, and especially bathroom, are small with furniture that look like taken from a cheap and old student dormitory rather than a modern hotel. Walls transmitted too much noise from outside as I could clearly hear guests from neighbouring room.

"Conveniently located, but tiny room!"

The Ibis Cologne Centrum hotel is conveniently located a couple of minutes walk from Barbarossaplatz tram stop. You can get from Dom to this tram stop in 4 stops and buy a reduced price tram ticket for trips 4 stops or less. You have to cross a couple of busy main roads to get to the hotel, but it's really easy to get to. The hotel is stylish and we really like the Ibis style. The furniture is funky and colourful, and the checking in process was quick. We found our room easily, but when we opened the door we were surprised how tiny the room was. It was an odd shape and there wasn't much around the large bed. There was a tiny suitcase storage area, a slight desk, a TV, a chair, and a really small bathroom. The bathroom would have felt bigger if they hadn't put in such a large sink - this is what took up most of the room. The shower was fairly spacious too which was nice, but the actual floor space was small and slightly claustrophobic. I'm not used to sitting on the toilet and being able to touch 3 walls so easily! The room didn't come with luxuries, but the bed was comfortable, the pillows and duvets were great and we didn't hear any noise from the outside. However we did hear some noise from the corridor and were woken with a knock on the door before 8am by the cleaner. We didn't appreciate this as we were only staying for one night and check out wasn't for a few hours. Checking out was irritating because there were a small group taking a long time to check in. One receptionist was 'busy' tending an empty bar and ignoring the queue forming. Then 2 other guests just walked to the front of the reception, ignoring the queue and the second receptionist came over and checked them out. We were annoyed that he hadn't come over to ask us if we needed help and had clearly been waiting about 15 minutes at the reception area. He didn't even tell the other guests there was a queue, or apologise to us for waiting. As you can imagine, this left a bit of a sour taste for the service we received. We would stay here again though. We thought the 24 hours of free wifi was good and the room was comfortable, despite the small size.
"Good location, poor breakfast"

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for work, the room is small and the bathroom very small but clean, the location of the hotel is good with a tram stop 3 mins walk away, the staff are friendly and helpful, there is free wifi in the room and reception area. The breakfast was pretty poor with not much selection.
