"Wonderful view of the Giza Pyramids!"
The entrance of the hotel has guards and patrol dogs that require all vehicles to be inspected prior to entry into the hotel rotunda. Then you pass through another security at the door of the hotel which becomes routine everywhere you go. We checked in with Ahmed, assistant manager and requested a roll away bed since there were 3 of us in the room. The bed was already set up in our room by the time we reached the 6th floor! They require a credit card hold of $200 for room incidentals and have free wifi in the lobby (the best times to use it are 0000 to 0530). Beware there are smokers EVERYWHERE! The hotel has 3 restaurants, all open until midnight and offer shisha on their patio overlooking the pool. There are 2 nice sized pools (one deep to 6 feet and another to 4 feet) which overlook the pyramids and the deep pool has a swim up bar. The temperature in the hotel is very comfortable and your room can be kept cool by keeping the drapes closed. There is an ATM, 4 souvenir shops, a bank and a place to buy stamps as well as send postcards and letters IN the hotel! The staff is very friendly but a little too friendly with American women, if you ask me. Overall, very comfortable, clean, easily accessible and in a great location!

"Great hotel right in front of the pyramids"
I was upgrated for free from an old city view room to their primier rooms facing the pyramids free of charge. I enjoy talking with all of the staff and staying in the hotel. The older rooms really need to be upgraded because they are old, rusty, and not suitable versus the premier rooms.

"Would definitely stay there again!"
We requested a pick up at the airport and this is HIGHLY recommended!!! He took care of everything for us including getting our luggage. It cost $35 and worth every penny. Upon check-in, we were greeted by Mohamed that upgraded our room and took great care of us. Our room was comfortable, convenient, very nice and had a view of the pyramids and the pool area with a balcony. Hamdy took care of getting our luggage to the room and was so very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. The chef and his staff were so friendly and the food was delicious!!! We used the hotel car service for our excursions which was great. They were available whenever was needed and the cars were in great shape. We used Hosny as our tour guide who is employeed with the car service at this hotel. He was great, very knowledgeable and watched out for us. We felt very secure with him and would highly recommend him if you go to Egypt. One of the other men, Ismail, also was there to help with anything that we needed. The hotel staff was very friendly and ready to help and did help with whatever we needed. We can't thank them enough for all they did to make our stay pleasant.

"Great hotel close to the pyramids."
A terrific hotel in a terrific location. I checked in Sunday for four days. The room was really beautiful with a lot of features I had not seen before (more on that later). The feature that takes your breath away is that when you open your curtains you are looking at the last remaining original "Seven Wonders of The World". The view of the pyramids from your own room can't be exaggerated! Very friendly staff (more on that later) and all kinds of shopping right in the hotel. This is a very clean and well maintained hotel.

The pool is great. The Spa is very good but not enough staff there, the water+lemon jar were finished and has not been refilled for more than an hour and I did not find anyone to ask. The room was good, but the toilet was very bad for a such big chain hotel. The hot water shower was yellow and I have to wait for about a minute so it returns clear. The fire alarm was not working properly and it gives an alarm every time I take a shower. Overall it is a good hotel but needs some maintenance and consideration from the owners.

Hotel staff is courteous but you have to watch out very carefully. We had two deluxe rooms but they gave us classic rooms. I had to insist and argue for almost five minutes before the checking clerk agreed to give us the deluxe rooms. Then it was another challenge to get the two rooms on the same floor. There are a lot of people running around willing to help with a smile but expect to be tipped.

"Nice view of the pyramids"
Coming to Egypt at the end of October was perfect, the temperature was really nice. We had only two and a half days to visit, so we had to pick. We visited the Citadel, and the old Souk. Had a tour to Memphis, Saqqarah, and the pyramids, We were also taken to a papyrus house, but we realized that they were really overpriced, better deals in the hotel. The last day we visited the Egyptian museum, (we traveled by metro, very efficient and clean, but be aware of the separate wagons only for women) we did not want to miss Tutankhamen exhibit, impressive!

"Hotel with the view!"
I stayed in this hotel with my mom on a weekend trip and we were both super pleased with everything we saw. The rooms were very comfortable, the view was incredible, the staff were super helpful and always were around when needed (but not following us), and the pools were so refreshing (water was heated by the sun) after a long day walking around exploring. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near the pyramids and for a great price and quality. I was worried a bit before I booked the hotel because of the lower reviews, but I did not find anything wrong like the reviews gave.

"Disappointing"
My expedia reservation stated that "free breakfast" was included with the room. However, the hotel would not honor this, and refused to give us breakfast. I provided proof to the hotel, and they still would not honor my reservation with breakfast. I was disappointed and feel that this hotel is poorly managed and does not care at all about customer satisfaction. The gym is supposed to open at 6:30AM, however I went at 7AM and it was closed. I had to call hotel services and wait almost 30 minutes for someone to come and open it.

This was my second time staying at the Hotel, what i like about the hotel is ,they leave you alone, nobody bothers you.if you need something you ask,and you receive it. The single King bed rooms on the second floor are excellent, the beds are comfy,so comfy I did not want to get out of bed, when i came here to immerse myself into the history. Keeping it short and sweet. "More like a motel"
The facility was run-down and needs much upgrading in many areas. Some of the staff were very good but most of them require more training. For example, I was sitting in the lobby and asked for American Coffee, the order I received was Turkish coffee. When I told the guy that this is different from what I asked for, he gave me a look and made it sound like I made the mistake. Maybe I did, but smoking in the lobby is out of control. Kids running around screaming and playing (that's ok) but it was annoying and the staff wouldn't do anything about it. Wi-Fi disconnected frequently. It was very slow. When I tell the desk that it got disconnected, he keeps on saying that he will call the central to fix it. This happened at least 6 times and they call in to fix it. I asked why? should this be the case? The other Wi-Fi cost a lot of money (which they don't tell you until the free Wi-Fi shuts down and you really need internet). At 4 am, i heard some scratching noise in the vent system. It seemed like a mouse doing something. I couldn't sleep and I went to the desk and reported the event later in the day. The desk didn't seem surprised but they were kind enough to change my room after i mentioned that I wanted to switch hotels. Multiple annoying events took place and I could not wait to leave by the last day. Servers jump on your case just so they get a tip. Hot Rooms when you walk in. You have to keep your room card inserted in the holder to get cold ai

Great location for the pyramids, friendly staff and amazing pool are the positives of the Meridien Pyramid that I would recommend. Unfortunately, there a few downsides that would be nice to see resolved such as ancient process for checking in & out making the operation too long, lack of complementary bottle of water in the rooms and the having to pay for the Internet.

My husband and I travelled to Cairo for 2 days as part of our honeymoon to Luxor. Initially they couldn’t find our booking. The lobby of the hotel was chic and I hoped our room would be the same. I was very disappointed. - Our room was tiny - The fridge was dirty - No refreshment tray or bottled water We had to find a street vendor to buy water. The next morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast. The waiters ignored us until I stopped a waiter and asked for a table. No one took an order for tea/coffee so we helped ourselves to breakfast. Whilst waiting in the queue for eggs, a man walked in front of us and placed his order. My husband had enough of the bad attitude. He asked the chef why he took someone else's order when there was a queue? As we had no tea/coffee, we asked a manager who walked off in a huff. A few mins later a waiter came over with water and took our room number. He came back with the bill and asked for payment right away, as we hadn't registered a card. I didn’t expect this from a 5 star hotel. Thereafter at 5 mins intervals, waiters came to our table for payment. Needless to say, we didn’t finish breakfast. We settled the bill and left, upset and hungry. There are management failings in this hotel. My advice is, steer clear. When we asked to speak to a manager we were ignored and then finally told that a manager was not available! This ruined our Cairo stay and put a damper on our honeymoon.

"Great view but service could be better"
We only stay for 2 nights but we tried to find some ware to get b/fast or lunch and all we could find within about 1 kilometre was a kebab shop. The drinks and food at the hotel is 4.5 star prices but the hotel is no better than 3.5 stars. We will not be ever coming back to Egypt but if we did we would look else ware. Neil and Joan Pritchard

"Ask for a pyramid view"
Some of the rooms face the pyramids, so be sure to book one with a view. The hotel has a nice restaurant and some coffee bars, as well as souvenir shops. There is a reasonably high security presence, but not unusual for this part of the world. There is also a swimming pool. The hotel is at the very edge of Cairo and the exact opposite side of the city than the airport. This means excursions to downtown or the journey to/from the airport can be expensive if you don't plan ahead.
