Very convenient to the interstate. We were down for a race at Lake Norman. The room was everything that we expected. If you're looking for a place to stop and just crash for the night, this is it. This is a very basic hotel. We stayed just for one night, which was good because we could not have stayed more than that. The toilet flush was not working well. AC was barely enough when set to full cold. The room had a musty/smoky smell. Breakfast was so so.

We were visiting Davidson -- this is a good hotel for that purpose, as well as getting to the lake. The girl on the desk gave us several excellent restaurant recommendations, two or three within easy walking distance. Easy access to the interstate as well, but not noisy at night.

It was convenient for a one night stay. It was close to nice restaurants and to the interstate. It was very small and we had a non-smokiing room, but the entire room smelled of an old smoke smell the entire time we were there. If you are looking just for a place to lay your head for a night, this is it.

We stayed here for a festival at lake Norman, the hotel staff were very nice. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful, even though we arrived with a dog and had not told them before hand. The lady at the check-in desk was extremely rude and opinionated... I wasn't aware that insulting your guests was a part of that hotel's customer service policy. Additionally, we had booked an advanced purchase smoking room, and was told that there were no more smoking rooms available despite the reservation I made weeks earlier. Since it was an advanced […] purchase and I would not be refunded my room cost, we stayed there anyway. The room we received might as well been a smoking room as it was dingy and had a stench. The carpets were stained and worn, but had a massive brown stain at the foot of the bed, so I was very wary to walk around in the room, and wore my shoes the entire time. The air conditioner in the room was pathetic and took forever to actually turn on. Oh, and for those of you expecting HBO with your stay, no chance of that as they have switched their cable provider or something. The breakfast was average, but at the price, I wasn't expecting much anyway. Also, due to the price I paid, I knew what I was getting myself into, however in the past at the Microtels, we've stayed at, they have been very clean with everything as expected at check in and polite workers at the front desk, so I was expecting the same here - boy was I dead wrong! That place was a total dive, and I also question the structure of the hotel as they have a parking area underneathe the second and third floors of the hotel and everytime we walked around, we got a wobbly sensation. So in summary, stay somewhere else if you can! There are way better Microtels and other comparable hotels out there for the price, but avoid this one at all costs! Read more
