This is a lovely, classic, old style hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, and ready to assist. The room was charming, and very comfortable for relaxing in. Darleys restaurant was a treat. A delightful olde -worlde hotel set right on the edge of the escarpment. It's just a stroll across the road to view the magnificent Blue Mountains. Friendly staff, very comfy rooms and free on-site, safe parking. It's also just a short stroll through a park to Echo Point to see the three sisters. We also recommend the highly rated Pins at Katooomba restaurant within walking distance of the hotel for an excellent meal downside; For $200 a night, would it hurt the hotel to include a continental breakfast in the tariff? This 4 night stay was perfect in every way. The rooms were well appointed and beautifully decorated in an 'old world charm' style. The resort facilities were fantastic & well maintained. Every staff member went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. Will be staying again!

i booked the hotel for both of my parents as a suprise paying for the room, breakfast and parking. on arival they were asked if they wanted to pay for breakfast and that they had to pay for parking. only under persistance from my mother they some how sorted it out. the service from the staff was great but left both of my parents quit embrased.

The hotel is in an excellent condition, and the staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast is good, but a little overpriced. Location is superb. Close to many nice spots in the area. The rooms are a little outdated, but clean. Definitely recommended.

We just wanted somewhere nice and relaxing to stay for a few days. Lilianfels was perfect. The location was stunning (as were the gardens and lounge). The indoor and outdoor pools were gorgeous - although it was still a bit chilly to swim outside I aso loved the robes from your room, which you were allowed to walk about in on your way to the spe. The […] spa featured massages and health treatments - but we didnt use those services. Guests were freely allowed to uses the sauna/steam room//jacuzis in the spa change rooms . The resteraunts looked lovely, but we walked into town instead for a more casual dining experience which took about 25mins each way) - taxi's cost about $10. The hotel gym great.We were impressed with the quality of the machines - and the cottage was a pleasant space to work out in. The best thing about the hotel was the location. We had a wonderful overnight at Lilianfels in a family room with my teenage son. My only disappointment was the lack of a view but we roamed the grounds in the morning and found them beautiful and inspiring with spring colours shooting up everywhere. The beds were as soft as clouds though being double rather than queen a bit narrow for my husband and […] me. What really to our breath away was the kindness of the waitress at breakfast. When we had finished eating she came up to us and encouraged us to take what we liked away from the buffet to accompany our morning's adventure. She suggested making sandwiches and even gave us containers to put them in. I have never encountered that attitude in a hotel restaurant before or anywhere come to think of it. It made the charge for the breakfast extremely reasonable since it also feuds for lunch. Read more

We have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels right around Australia and throughout the world. We chose to stay at Lillianfels for two nights mid week as a first escape after our son turned two. We were especially disappointed with the service and offering on a number of fronts. For example we would have expected that the hotel staff would have offered to […] deliver our bags to our room and for complimentary bar snacks to be offered with drinks in the lounge. The breakfast buffet at $39 per person did not include an espresso coffee or fresh juice (which we were told costs extra) and the buffet offering was limited with most of the items looking and tasting as if they were served from a packet or the flavors of the food mixed by patrons use of the limited utensils. The mattress that we slept on was over ten years old and was beyond it's useful life. The lavender bath salts (which were an iconic Lillianfels staple) are no longer provided under it's new management but the empty container temptingly sat on the baths edge wooing you to check if it had magically filled itself. The hotel's existence felt like it is teetering on a knife's edge - a review of it's pricing model, brand narrative and infrastructure should be urgently undertaken. Read more

Although the hotel room and other rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable, there are no views to the mountains from any of the common areas. It seems totally cut off from the beauty around it. Added to this is the totally outrageous price you pay for any and all beverages and meals.

Hotel was of a good standard and very old fashioned but smart decor/feel about it. Front of house staff very professional and friendly and helpful. Some of the restaurant/bar staff could at times been a little more friendly/helpful. We had our 1 year old daughter with us and they were very accommodating.

Lilianfels was amazing. My friend and I went for a girls pamper weekend away, and were treated like queens. The service was always very friendly and helpful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. It may be the best hotel in Katoomba. both indoor and outdoor pool are big and nice. The hotel and room are very well maintained and decorated with an "old English style" which is probably very appropriate for the setting. I liked the room and especially the shower.
