Business trip of three days. Hotel was very authentic, very comfortable, well located for the city center.

42 The Calls USED to be a special place to stay. Now it is very dog eared. The furnishings need renewing. In 2008 there should be a shower and not just a 'spray' in the bath! You have to ring reception to get any milk for your morning tea. At that time in the morning reception is busy checking people out so they don't answer the 'phone. A miserable stay, not to be repeated.

Friendly helpful staff and bags of character in the rooms of this converted warehouse space. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom felt high-end although some parts of the room were looking a bit tired - likely to need redecorating soonish. Only real fly in the ointment was the telly controls, which took us nearly ten minutes to sort out - it's a rather dated system.

Large room, large bed, excellent service sums up this hotel. It is what you would expect from a 4* hotel. You car is parked for you in an NCP car park nearby for £13.95 so be prepared for that cost, personally I think it is worth it. The other little surprise which I thought was the main thing that let down the hotel was the price of the breakfast! I do not see how they can justify £11.50 for a continental breakfast and around £15 for a cooked one. Unfortunately there are no places nearby to go for breakfast instead so they have a captive audience. Other than that I had a very pleasant stay.
