Yeah, it is an inexpensive hotel and that's what it is. Looks like an old hospital converted. Everything smells of urine in the hotel. Otherwise it's typically Ibis - basic but acceptable, overpriced breakfast and surly staff.

Great location, 5 min walk to GrandPlace and many restaurants. Room and bathroom small/very tight - barely room in shower to wash hair, couldn't sit straight on toilet, window very close to head. Bed was comfortable. All together, we got a decent room for the price.

Not only were the staff friendly, nice, helpful and English speaking, but the entire experience was just perfect. I arrived at 8:00am due to my flight schedule and they let me check in!!! Overall, the hotel was immaculate and comfortable and the location was very close to everything you'd want to walk to in the city. Would recommend to anyone!

Great location near many of the sites and neighborhoods. Room was perfectly adequate, maybe a little on the small side, but I'm an american so the bigger the better. I would stay here again when I come back to Brussels. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Not for hotel snobs though.

Everything was clean and in place and I had a good nights sleep before my flight the following morning to the airport. I can complain that the hotel is 10 minutes walk […] from the central train station or the first 2 minutes walk to central square is not clean. They have nothing to do with the hotel. If you do not know where the hotel is, it can take more than 10 minutes by walk. However, this is because we are pulling bags from and to the hotel and train station. Contrary to previous reviewers, we were happy with our stay at this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we didn't arrive expecting something palatial or fancy, and got the basics that we needed. The location was great- away from the most touristy Grand Place area but still near plenty of sights and great restaurants.

We enjoyed our brief stay in this hotel for a business trip which is obviously its main market, despite the reasonable price our room had a good television where we could catch up on all the British news and the shower was nice and hot and forceful! There is a vending machines and a 24 hour food/drink provision so there are other ways to cure a caffeine dip! This hotel had so many good and bad points that I have had to just rate it a 3. The lobby/cafe area looks great, the television had good channels in English, and the location was perfect for what we wanted. I would recommend this to a friend purely for it's great location. Unfortunately, stayers should be warned, the walls leading onto the hallways […] from the rooms are extremely thin. Every morning we were woken by people chatting on their way through the halls. It's not somewhere for a light sleeper to stay and perhaps bring your earplugs. The room was big enough but bathroom quite small. You had to sit on the toilet on an angle because it was so close to the corner of the room, there was also some grime in the shower that should have been cleaned. Basically I would compare this hotel with others nearby to this area as the area is the best thing about this hotel. If you can find better value for money close by than this isn't the hotel for you. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would have liked to have been able to get some more sleep and it was a little strange to pay 5euro for holding our bags as this is usually free in all hotels I have stayed at. You can't ask for a better location - it is 2 mins from a supermarket, 2 mins from a really nice seafood stall, 3 mins from the nearest Metro station, 5-10 mins from the Grand Place and Manneken-Pis, so you can pretty much go to all the major sights on foot. The hotel was perfectly situated with the christmas market just 2 minutes walk away, and the grand place 7 minutes walk away. The room (we got the two single bed rooms) was really clean and pretty, and well furnished, with a clean toilet (really important to me). This hotel has the worst staff i have ever experienced in Europe. We made the booking for one night for this hotel and we arrived at around 7:30 am (after travelling overnight from london by bus) at the hotel but the guy at the reception told that we can not get the room bcz the check in time is 12:00. I asked him that what if someone arrives at 11:00 […] even then you don't give the rooms, he very rudely and bluntly said that procedure is procedure. I asked him to contact the manager but he refused. He said that to get the room i should pay full day fare again. Since my wife was also with me (Ibis Brussel does not have any humanity) i ended up paying two times (one i booked online and other at the hotel with a very high rate) for one day booking only. I would suggest simply and very simply avoid this IBIS hotel since the staff will ensure that your trip gets ruined as much as they can. They are totally pathetic, rude and non co-operative. The location is at the centre of Brussel but you can find other hotels in the same vicinity with better staff who are human and not computer program which simply follows the procedure. With this experience i will never going to stay in any of these IBIS (Accor) hotels in my life and will never ever recommend to anyone. Read more

Hotel was comfortable and very convenient for the city. Easy to get to from the airport by train from the airport to Central station and one metro stop from there. Beware when returning to the aiport from Central Station though (not a hotel problem). There are always long queues at the ticket office , it took me 45 minutes wait to get a ticket for the […] train to the airport. There are ticket machines but they only take coins or Belguim cards.
