Rooms are very small. Hotel do not provide all the all inclusive amenities. Fridge in the room does not even have water in it. Buffet has very limited choices.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing time at Aruba Tamarijn!!"
We stayed at the Tamarijn the first week of September and had an amazing time. The rooms all are ocean view and we were lucky enough to get a ground level room which was steps to the sand!! Everything about the resort was great. The location was a short cab ride to downtown or the high rise areas and was on a nice stretch of beach. The beach was never […] crowded and always peaceful. I was not expecting much of the food but it was good and there were options to please everyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice, too many children though"
Overall, this was money well spent and a great experience. The all inclusive restaurants were 5 star and the buffets were above average. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only drawbacks we saw as a couple was that the divi was more couple friendly and the tamarijn was filled with kids. However the divi facilities are included in the all […] inclusive and it is a 5 minute walk down the beach. At the tamarijn people woke up at like 7 am to reserve chairs so if you want a chair you have to claim it at the crack of dawn. The tamarijn should really stop allowing that because people go on excursions all day and leave a towel on a chair so nobody else can use it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"decent hotel, absolutely gorgeous beach"
If i had the the option to give 3.5 stars I would have instead of 3, I just didn't think it was good enough to round up to 4. Let's start with the bad: -the buffets had very limited options, but the food was edible -the staff was not rude, but not friendly either. for the most part it seemed like they didn't want to be there -the room was really small -$30 […] for 3 days of wifi that was slow and didn't work a lot of the time The good: -the beach is pristine -the beach is not crowded at all, you will always get a lounge chair -bunker bar has amazing views and is a really cool place to enjoy a drink -pizza de tuti is pretty cool, the snack bar is open til 1am and the food is decent -they offer a shuttle to go to divi, and the alahambra casino -you can pay $35 upcharge to eat at Windows which is one of the best restaurants in Aruba, totally worth the upcharge Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The best beach@ARUBA"
The beach at this hotel was amazing, contrary to the other side of the island, the beach is private to the hotel. So very secure to leave our stuff by the table as u take a swim. Lots of activities for children of all ages, from 3 to 16 kids are busy... will definitely return next summer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great beach! Poor customer service."
The best part of this hotel is the access to the beach. It was great to walk out of our room onto the beach. I am sure there was a lot to do on the resort, but no one informed us of activities. We heard there was an orientation on the day before we left. We were not impressed with the food. The food is okay-- even in the restaurants. The only restaurant […] that was decent was Paparazzi. The staff at the reservation desk and a few bartenders & waiters were friendly. That's it! The staff does not greet you with "welcome, what can I do for you, or may I take your order." The simply say, "yes" and act annoyed you are asking for something. Especially, at the desk where you make reservations for dinner and activities-- they were awful! Finally, on the third day, I complained about how unfriendly the staff was. Osvaldo (sp?) was very receptive to the concerns. With the food; with one buffet, it was not air conditioned, food did not look appetizing (seemed the same food was out each day and was old), & was bland. Make it more like buffet at Divi. We had a great time in Aruba. The people at the hotel were very nice and helpful. We did an all-inclusive package which was cool but I don't recommend it if you are like us. We don't drink very much so the price we paid for all-inclusive was a little high since we didn't take full advatage of the food and drinks. "Nice people who make you feel welcome."
My girlfriend and I went for four days just to relax and that's what we got. I was very pleased with how nice the whole staff were. The people were very open and friendly when it came to answering questions and if they didn't know the answer they would find out. Bartenders were nice and really appreciated tips. Same with waiters. I was supprised with […] how many guests didn't tip. I know its all-inclusive but you still tip. It's called common courtesy! For the most part the food was good at the resturants in the Tam but the buffet needs much improvement. The food wasn't that good so we ended up eating most of our buffet meals at the DIVI which was like night and day. The sanitation part for the people preparing your food needs to be addressed there. No gloves were worn like at the DIVI and the one lady making the omolettes along with the other cooks did not wear gloves and she was wiping her nose constantly and picking up food after that point without washing her hands. For someone who has worked in the food industry and has gone to college for Culinary Arts that is food service/ sanitation 101. They should follow the lead of DIVI in this aspect because they were on the ball with this issue. The only other issue was reservations which you had to make 2 days in advance to get a table. You know how many people are staying at your hotel, accommodate for that! Besides those annoying issues that could be adverted we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the people and their hospitality. "A little taste of paradise"
This was our first trip to Aruba but will definitely not be our last. We stayed at this resort based on a referral from friends who have stayed here for 15 years. We were very pleased with the location, the accommodations, the all inclusive feature and the staff. The room was a bit small but we didn't spend much time in it. The bathroom shower was different […] in that it did not have a door or shower curtain; rather it had a glass panal on half of it allowing the water to trickle onto the floor. Water pressure was not very good but doable. I would recommend a bottom floor room as it is easy access to everything! We literally could step out onto our patio and onto the sand just steps from the ocean. We had our own cabana outside our room too! The all inclusive feature allowed us to eat at the Divi Resort too. It was easy to catch a golf cart out front to take us over to the Divi which also has a casino. If you are planning on eating in the restaurants they require a two day advance reservation which can be a problem as they get completely booked quickly. I would strongly recommend eating at the Paparazzi and the Red Parrot!!!! Fantastic food!!!!! Contrary to what we were told our drinks, which are included, were plenty strong enough. Word to the wise: show the staff a little kindness and respect and they will bend over backwards for you. A small tip also goes a very long way!!!! Can't wait to return!!!! 1. Food was bad. Except in the specialty restaurants where it was only OK. I asked a bartender what time the a la carte restaurant opened. He said "Noon, but if you are hungry, you can eat at the snack bar, but you have to be really hungry." I have to agree there. How hard is it to have a decent snack bar? 2. The pools were too small for the number […] of guests crammed in them. No swim up bar. 3. The shower had no door and flooded the bathroom every time you used it. 4. The beach was beautiful and right outside the door, which was great. 5. The restaurants and bars were understaffed. It was tough to get a clean table, despite bus boys working full speed. Also tough to get drinks (even water at meal time because not enough staff). 6. Activities were minimal. 7. A disappointing experience. Divi should take more pride in its resort. It could be a wonderful place with some effort. We won't be back. 8. Forgot to mention the trash. They use a lot of paper plates and paper napkins, which is fine, but wind blows 24-7 and they go every where. 9. Room safes require a key which you then have to carry everywhere with you. Its 2013, time to go to electronic combination locks. 10. I am not the type to write a negative review. I am generally easy to please and not picky about food or service. But, I spent a lot of money and wasted precious vacation days here and I am a little ticked off. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel On-line Missleading!!"
From all of the photos of this All Inclusive Resort we were really disappointed. They told us our room was recently refurbished. I would hate to see a room that wasn't. The room was really old looking and needed completely updated....especially the tile. Hardly any lighting...very dark unless the sliding glass door window treatments were opened even […] with all of the lights on...a couple of plug in outlets and no air conditioning vent in the bathroom...which was horrible. No place to get ready because the bath was so steamed up and hot constantly once someone showered. Our friends shower did not even have a door and water went out into the bathroom each time someone bathed. We had 4 people in the room....the maid each time would leave 3 of everything and I would have to always ask for more. I would give this room a 2 star at the most. Our family did the WindSurfing and only having 2 boards and 10 people one instructor was trying to go back and forth between both of the boards to help each person get up on the board and give instructions of what to do. Seemed like we were there forever. I would give the food a 4 star and the beach area...enjoyed dining at the Red Parrot and the Paparazzi and the beach area wasn't overcrowded at all and very beautiful. The Divi next door is a much nicer resort if your thinking about staying at this one. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The hotel's location can't be beat."
The location is right on the beach. The food is great and the water at the resort can be drunk because it is desalinated water. The restaurants serve food you'd expect back in the states. The beach is pristine, the drinks are great, the bartenders work super hard to serve as many people as possible as fast as possible. The pool is small but who cares […] because its all about the beautiful beach. The ocean is a wonderful refreshing temperature. The specialty restaurants are great and the buffets have something for everyone. It is a multinational clientele and all are friendly and fun to interact with. The concierge staff work hard and give you individual attention even though seemingly understaffed. It can take 20 minutes or so of standing in line to be served. It is close to Oranjestadt and only a $2.40 bus ride to good shopping and only 10 minutes. The hotel is spread out so you get good exercise or the staff will pick you in a shuttle. There is a long well kept boardwalk extending along the whole resort with the Bunker Bar halfway in between in case you need a drink along the way. Get up early to get your palapas by your room even if you're not going to use it until later (sometimes before 8AM. Otherwise you might not get one. If you don't get one, use plenty of sunscreen and just get a lounge chair and put it on the beautiful beach somewhere near by. It's never crowded and white sandy beaches extend almost as far as you can see. We were in the 2400 and loved it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"TAMARIJN KEEPS US COMING BACK FOR MORE"
Not our first stay with Tamarijn and DEFINITELY not our last! We don't want our "secret" to get out! We LOVE TAMARIJN! Every room has a view -amazing! We thought we wanted the ground floor and it would have been great but this time we brought our kids and appreciated the "extra" space of the 2nd floor balcony. The activity staff is extraordinary and […] made my teenage son come out of his shell and smile - thanks iris <3 ! We had a great stay here there was some confusion with our room when we first got there but we were able to get it figured out and we had a great time! It was very nice because you could just walk right out of your room to the beach if you were on the ground level and it was just a short trip down the stairs if you were on the top level but you still […] had a nice balcony and great view! the beach was beautiful and it was like you had your own private area! We visited the high rise area and it was just so packed and just didn't seem relaxing. The rooms were nice for what you needed them. You wont spend very much time in them. The food was good but we weren't over impressed with it. The service was good but i felt like the staff was on vacation too it took a little longer then I was used to to get a drink but all and all it was a good trip and i would go back! "By far the best value on the beach."
We saw the other choices: walk across the street from a low rise hotel or share a very crowded beach at a high rise. This is by far the best place to be; you basically have your own uncropwded beach. You can take a $10 cab to the busy areas to rent a catamaran or a nice sailboard/kite, but everything else you need is right here and included. Rent jet […] skis here too. Sailboard is a small 2M sail, but good for learning and available most of the time. Kayaks always available. Freindly staff there to follow you around in a boat. Floats, tennis, bikes, great weight room always available. Rock climbing just at certain times per day, but that's enough. So many pool and hot tub choices, too. Pool with medium tube slide available across the street at golf resort. Expected food to be mediocre, but that was good too. So nice to not have to argue w/ family about where to go; just walk to your reservation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"tamajrin divi all inclusive"
this was my second trip to the Tam and enjoyed it alot, the staff and supervisors were very friendly and helpful, i barely left the resort, the last time i was in Aruba it was alot slower , i went on the sunset cruise and was shocked when i went up the island rd, so much has changed, when i was there last time (2001) you had to go down town to do anything […] but now the island is getting to jammed up with more hotels and fast food chains but the Tam and Divi held onto the island ambiance and thats what i liked about it, i only left the Tam once i was very comforable walking the beach everyday getting a tan and eating in the food court hanging by the pool and bars, and laying in the sun........my room was very clean and comfortable i almost stayed another week, i hope they never change the way they are between the 2 hotels there is enough room for privacy on the beach and like i said i came to aruba to go to relax on an island not run around a playground, but i know change will always come i just hope it comes slow, and to get to watch the sea turtles come out of the nest next to my room was awesome i got some very cool pictures................my only complaint is they should put fans in the bathroom windows blowing out instead of leaving them open, you close the door and the humidity gets bad and it will eleiveiate the smell, i had to cover the drain in the shower to keep the smell in the bathroom............. i had a wonderful time and will probably be back next spring,,,,,,,, Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Relaxing and romantic"
The "Tam" was just what we were looking for! Not fancy, but clean and friendly with a beautiful beach. Not crowded. The facility is in good shape for its age. The room was small, but adequate for our needs. Meals were mostly good, and some were outstanding. We especially liked the Red Parrot and the Palm Court Grill. Ginger was good, too. Shows were […] not cruise quality by any means, but fun. We saw lots of families with small kids, and they seemed to like the Tam also. Activities desk personnel were wonderful. One caution - the sun is strong here, and the constant breeze keeps you comfortable, so you have to be very careful about using sunscreen, or you will burn up. In all, we had a romantic and relaxing week and would love to return here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Loved that all the rooms were oceanfront. We had to switch rooms, because the first was in pretty bad shape. Door frame was falling apart, bedspreads were ripped. Most of the staff was friendly and […] tried their best to acamodate. The food was better than expected, and very fresh. "Comfortable but Pricey"
I really liked the size of the resort best. It was large enough to meet most of our needs (i.e., Spa, dinning, sport activities and comfort), but not so big that you feel like you're just another number. The rooms are right on the beach. Our room was no more than 40 yards from the water and the beach was very nice. The beach and pools never felt crowded. […] We could always find a lounge chair or seat and always plenty of space to relax. Food was good and plentiful. It can be hard to get reservations at some of the popular restaurants. I would recommend making reservations early, before 10:00 AM. My only complaint would be the overall value of our stay. I have a family of 5 which meant that we needed two rooms. My children are 13, 15 & 17 and my cost was about $430 per night per room for a total of $860 per day. That seems like a lot to me and I didn't feel like we got a tremendous amount of service for that money. My wife and I don't drink alcohol and my children are all minors so it didn't go there. All water sport activities except snorkeling cost extra (i.e., tubing, sailing, jet-skiing) as well as all transportation to and from the resort. I think $600 to $650 per day would have been a more reasonable cost for the service and quality of the resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This was our first trip to an island for my girlfriend and I and we absolutely loved it! The beach was phenomenal and not at all crowded. We both thought the food at the restaurants was above average and we didn't […] have any problems with dinner reservations as long as we made them 2 days in advance which was not a big deal. The buffet is definitely hit-or-miss with some good food and some not so good. Overall we loved our time here. "Honeymoon Stay at the Tam...Awesome"
Room: The rooms at the tam are a little small but the oceanfront experience in Aruba is pretty amazing, and would be difficult to get most anywhere else on the island. We had a balcony room in the corner of the building and as such had a bigger balcony. Overall the experience was great, we were in the 1200 block at the Tamarijn and it was a short walk […] to everything and noise was not an issue. The ground floor would probably be better for access to the beach since you can walk straight off the patio down to the ocean, instead of around the corner and down one flight of stairs to the ocean. As far as the pools go, who needs a pool when the ocean water is as clear as it is in Aruba (didn't set foot in any of the pools on the divi or tam properties all week). Food/Drinks: The restaurants were great, the buffet was good enough, and the snack bar was awesome. We never had a problem going where we wanted as long as we were flexible on the time. The drinks were all sufficiently boozy, and I personally liked being at an all inclusive place since I'd have been racking up pretty big bar bills at most of the touristy bars. Overall: Probably not the best all inclusive experience out there, but its the best in Aruba. The RIU palace is the other big all inclusive and the beach up there is super crowded and just not as pretty as it is at the Tam. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best beach in Aruba - taxi drivers said so."
We agree. We spent 2 hours walked up the whole hotel zones on the beaches. The beaches in front of the brand-name hotels in the high-rise area are crowded (5 rows of beach chairs on a narrow beach), noisy, greasy fast food & gasoline smells and lots of boats to block your view of the sea. This IS the best beach in Aruba that stretches nearly 1-mile […] (or more?) in front the Divi resorts. Tamarijn and Divi are actually one resort. Tamarijn, IMO, is the better choice since all rooms are ocean front. Yes, they do have shuttle services from one end to the other (the far end is a casino, and cross the street in the middle is a nice golf course.). The never-crowded beach has soft white sand, gentle waves and remains shallow 20 to 30 yards into the sea. They don't even have life guards on site. Surprisingly good snorkeling right in front of the 19xx building. There are two parallel pipes acted as man made coral reef. Hundreds of colorful fishes and some lobsters. I've seen groups of bigger fishes swam by, too. The best part is that you can just stand up to clear the water in your mask. Diving Pelicans & creeping iguanas are two other scenes to enjoy. Foods are average at the Tamarijn. The manager said they kept the Divi side a little higher standard than the Tamarijn. We totally agreed. The Red Parrot is 100% better than the Paparazzi. Great nightly shows mostly at the Tamarijn though. Rooms are newly renovated. A King bed room is usually associated with a corner unit. Ask for it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Proceed with Caution"
This review is very tough. Me and my wife have been to Aruba several times. On this occasion we went with our friends who have never been there. We stayed November 10 - 14 in rooms 2502 & 2504. The resort itself is very nice, the food is plentiful and decent, the drinks are great & the beach is world class. The problem that the hotel doesn`t want to […] talk about is security. Our rooms were located on the second floor at the far end of the resort, its very peacful & not crowded. But.... our friends awoke at 4:00 AM with an intruder ( Robber ) crawling on the floor in thier room. They chased the intruder out over the second floor balcony. A police report & hotel security report was filed. The police informed them that the abandoned hotel about 300 yards down the beach is loaded with homeless people & vagrants Making these end units very " high risk locations for theft " The hotel management was very professional and even reimbursed our friends for the stolen items. We were intending to return this March with the same couple but they are now rethinking the location. So make sure your sliding door has a bar on it, if not demand it because they will tell you it`s not needed with the newer doors. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Stay at Tamarijn"
We loved the Tamarijn hotel. All of the rooms open up right onto the ocean which is very convenient. There are shuttles constantly running between Divi and Tamarijn which is nice especially for meals booked at Divi. The buffet food for breakfast and lunches is above par for buffet food, but the dinners are awesome at the restaurants. There are also […] snack shacks with food (pizzas and sandwiches) and drinks available all day. The staff at the resort is what really makes it, they are all above and beyond nice. The rooms are okay, not fancy, but nice. I thought it was nice because of people tromping back and forth to their from the ocean which is only feet away. Tamarijn and Divi have the largest beach stretch on the whole island. We had no problems finding a spot on the beach at any point any day. Just so you know the higher the number of building at Tamarijn the further you are from the hustle and bustle. People wanting a quiet beach with hardly anyone on it, 25 is the furthest down. Its a further walk to the food and drinks but it was worth it to us to only have a max of 8 people on the beach near us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Kind of cheap"
The beach was fabulous and the room was fine. The food and drinks were not much. None of the bars open until 11 (so there's nowhere to get a bloody mary if you need one). Drinks are served in disposable plastic cups. They were very uptight about their towels. The place is much bigger than it seems, so where your room is located would make a lot of difference. […] It seemed alright for families with kids, or people on a budget. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Family Hotel"
This hotel was great! We took our one and half year old it was supper family oriented. The staff accommodated many of our requests. Also the food was great! I have been too many all inclusive and this was by far the best. Also drinks were strong. It was a great trip and I would recommend it to anyone. We were there is September and I also found that […] this was a great time to go. Not too busy, never had an issue with getting a reservation or getting a spot on the beach!
