"Nice hotel, close to the CBD"
We arrived after 7 pm, reception staff very helpful and friendly. The insulation of the rooms good be better, we had to listen to people arguing at 3am. Close to CBD and free tram station, I will go back again if I visit Melbourne.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Dark, dingy and not 4 star!"
I will never stay here again - it was really horrible. The room was tiny, and so dark you could barely see anything - definitely could not read or see inside your case. The black walls and carpet contributed to the feeling that you were in a prison. The bathroom was the size of the average toilet, and was so dark impossible to put on makeup. The 'pillow […] menu' - was just that : a menu - they didn't have any pillows available. To be fair, the towels were OK. But everything else was just tacky and dingy. For the same price as we paid here (I know we cannot mention it in this review, but it was at the upper end of what you would expect to pay for a 4 star) we have stayed in MUCH nicer hotels. "Didn't meet expectations"
We booked a room with a garden view and got a view of a metal roof. (Put on the first floor and couldn't see any garden). The room was rediculously small for 4 people, it wasn't cleaned well with items left behind from previous guests and the bathroom was only big enough for 1 guest. I arrived with 2 suitcases and kids and had to carry them up steps. […] No help available and no ramp access. The food was fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"good quiet stay opposite gardens!"
location is excellent opposite the treasury garden and fitzroy garden, so lovely at the quiet end of Flinder Street and next to the stop for free tram. the room is small but well set up with everything. Feels new! Shower is spacious despite bathroom being slightly smallish. I hope it stays this way and I will return to Mercure again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Enjoyed the stay but not the car park!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good value for money, rooms are a bit small but ok for a short stay. Lobby and restaurant are probably more at a 3 stars grade. Service at reception and car park was really good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My family and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at mercury spring st melbourne. It was in a great position, walking distance to everything. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. "City exploring and Ashes watching"
A very nice hotel - not too big. We had a garden facing room, early checkin and 2 double beds. Worked really well for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Great location near sports arenas, trams -and still in the downtown area. Recommend breakfast - kids free and nice food. Beware of in room Wifi charges - they can be very hefty.Genuine Expedia guest review

"I will never go back again!!"
Overall the stray was fine but I had left my Tiffany earrings in the room and called the hotel that afternoon about, received a call saying was not found then another found after I told them the cleaning lady would have vacuumed it.. returned back to me BROKEN not even an apology for them breaking a very sentimental item to me or to pay for the damage/repair... "Great hotel in good location"
This a good quality hotel that you do not have to pay the earth for. Rooms are well presented, maintained and clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
Family of four (2 adults, 2 children). Was hoping for 'Garden View' as stated when booking. However ended up on level one over looking a roof and snippets of the tops of trees. Not really a garden view by my standard. Hotel located in good location. Enjoyable stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great hotel!"
We stayed in this hotel for the Melbourne Cup and for the start of our Honeymoon. This was the only hotel we stayed at that even acknowledged our Honeymoon and it was a very nice start to it. The staff were lovely and helped me with get around as I was suffering from sciatic back pain and also gave great advice on the local area The room was clean. Great location, close to shops, restaurants, bars and Melbourne city nightlife. Our garden view room had a lovely outlook over the Treasury gardens.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great views and clean and comfortable."
Nice clean and lovely hotel though staff were not overly helpful and the extra charges for everything were over the top (parking, internet)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Rod Laver and tramline"
Was excellent service and responsibly priced The rooms are to just stay in, no lounge area etc so don't expect big areasGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location. Room was great, nice and big bedroom space, shower was awesome but bathroom space in general was a little small, a little more lighting in the room would have been good especially near the mirror. Staff were lovely and so helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The first night was fantastic and the second night was ok due to 2 teenage girls sleeping on a fold out bed but overall very good stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A convenient and very comfortable stay. Great bed. Extremely quiet even right in the city CBD!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great east central hotel"
Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and well appointed. This hotel is conveniently close to city restaurants/bars etc but also is well situated for an easy drive to the Eastern Freeway for anyone doing business in Eastern suburbs.Genuine Expedia guest review

"beautiful surrounding and comfy room"
We really enjoyed our stay, if ever we return to Melbourne the Mercure will be our place of choice to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
good , close to rod laverGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Steep front steps not good for people with bad joints or big cases. Bed was firmer than I am used to but you can't please everyone! Bad light in the bathroom (room 903) for putting on makeup. Loved the man who took the room service orders - always happy and polite. All staff great. Nearness of the train and trams was very helpful as I went in many different […] directions over a few days. Room was soundproof, I was next to the lift and it was very quiet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great convenient hotel."
Really enjoyed the stay. Only downside was the daily parking cost, $30, but that is unavoidable in downtown Melbourne, unfortunately. The hotel was very convenient to all the downtown attractions, was affordable and very clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mercure Treasury Gardens"
For us it was the perfect location in the city, being a short walk to the tennis and cricket grounds. We didn't eat there but overall we enjoyed our stay. One major plus was that the room was very acoustically quiet. No traffic noise could be heard. We did have to ask management if the cleaner could wipe the surfaces (bench, coffee table and bathroom […] basin) because it was being overlooked. This observation was accepted politely and followed up with improvement. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Mecure is in a great location. Short walk to the tram stop and easy to get around. Very clean and neat in the photographs is what you get. Small bathroom but very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great friendly and helpful staff"
We had a great time and the hospitality and friendliness of staff could not be faulted. They made us feel very welcome. The room was very comfy and the amenities were excellent. The location was very handy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but some issues"
The location of the hotel is great, but there were a few issues when we were there. One of the lifts was out of service for the whole week we were there, which meant a lot of waiting for the one operating lift. We also did not have our room cleaned two days in a row and had to call to have this done in the late afternoon.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had an awesome stay at the Mercure - it was so close and handy to Melbourne CBD, all the public transport, the gardens gave the kids a place to run around! The block out blinds were super - even the kids slept in!Genuine Expedia guest review
Great Location. Able to walk to the Tennis Centre for concert and close to free tram and free bus. Rooms were lovely inside. Especially the Flinders St Station Bed Head.Genuine Expedia guest review
"convenient to city"
Expected better room as Accor member. Very cramped room. Both lifts weren't working and we had to use stairs and service lift. Very disappointed in standard of accommodation compared to similar priced hotels in the city. The lifts not working with a sign falling off the doors was the real turn-off, and no apologies. Will never stay there again !Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location. Nice tidy hotel, , quiet room and very comfortable bed.Genuine Expedia guest review
