This Super 8 is not that bad as some people make it out to be. The people were great, the bed was Comfortable, and the TV selection was basic. This was a 4 day stay in SF. If you are visiting for 2 nights, I say book it Anymore then I would look somewhere else. But still I'm used to okay place, so this was a good stay.

I have stayed here before. It is a pretty good value for the price. I was on the 5th floor this time- near the Ice machine/Vending/Laundry so it was a little noisy. The HVAC above my bathroom was noisy, but shutting the bathroom door helped drown out the noise. I had a mini fridge but had to unplug due to the hum. I felt a little misled that the website listed 'self parking' as an amenity, but it only meant street parking, which was impossible. There is a $25/day valet. I was not offered the wifi password (another amenity) until I asked. The room was very small, but comfortable and tidy.

this hotel was perfect for a little get away with my best friend. it was a block away from union square. anything we needed was walking distance. hotel staff was good. this was a great room considering we wouldn't be spending much time in it, but was still comfortable and clean. would definitley consider staying again.

The hotel room was depressing, the lobby was depressing. The "coffee" at breakfast was non-potable, the breakfast room was depressing. The neighborhood was close to the action but on the edge of a pretty sketchy area. Beds and pillows were too soft. Booked this room due to its low price and proximity to BART stations and the civic center. Went to see a show there for one night. Given the age of the building and surrounding area, I was pleased. A great price, close to union square and the room was just fine. I was lucky to get an inside room so the street noise didn't bother me at all. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and hot with good pressure. In a rough neighborhood but don't let that scare you off!

As poor students we don´t have to high expectations. This is a pretty cheap place to stay, so you don´t get high class. It was clean and the staff was friendly. This motel is near a really bad district, but the staff tell you were to go and not if you ask. Overall: I stayed here for a week recently for a conference. The rooms are a little small, but since I only needed a place to shower and sleep, this didn't both me one bit. I'll look the Super 8 up again next year for my stay. I was satisfied. Location: It's in Union Square, close to everything I needed (shopping, Moscone Center, Chinatown, Market […] Street, and it was a short jog to the Bay and AT&T Park). I'll be honest: I hate San Francisco at night...it scares me. In this area, though, there were plenty of people still walking around at 11pm, so I felt okay walking alone. I am not sure I'd push it much past 10:30-11, though. The hotel: The room was clean, decently well-maintained from the looks of it (I add the "decently" qualifier in there because our bathroom light was broken and wouldn't turn off; it was supposed to be one of those motion-activated lights), free (although sparse: toast and cereal) breakfast, washing machines on site, and the staff was very accommodating with holding our bags both before we checked in and after we checked out. Best part? NO BED BUGS! :D I'll definitely look up the Super 8 again next year when I come back. Read more

This hotel is very convenient to Union Square. If you are attending a convention at the Hilton, it is right across the side street. The bedding is very comfortable, including the mattress, sheets and pillows, which is very important to me. The room is very small since it is an old building, but the bathroom is very large. Don't go out at night. Or get back to the hotel before 11:00. When returning to the hotel on foot I was offered all the cocaine I could want. Also, you have to dodge an agility course of pimps, prostitutes and bums to get back to the hotel/converted apartment building.

The staff was very friendly and helpful which made the stay pleasant. The room was tiny but clean. The hotel location is right on the outskirts of the Tenderloin district. Basically, you get good value for the cost, which was reasonable for Union Square.

Small rooms. Worked out ok since we hardly in room. TV didn't work. Advised front desk several times. No recovery. Suppose to be a romantic get-away but felt dingy and unclean. A great location near Union Square and an Amtrak bus pickup spot. A remodeled older building. Remodeled rooms are clean and bed was new and comfortable. The room was the smallest I have ever had in a hotel in America. Not a good choice if you plan to spend any time in the room other than sleeping. Very reasonable rates for the area. Poor breakfast.

When I called Expedia the women on the phone read me some reviews that weren't bad at all she said it was a 3 out 5 stars.so I thought that would be fine! I've stayed at many 3 out of 5 star hotels before . This motel was a nightmare from a hair in the shower to dirty walls/floors!! You could hear every noise . There was lots of yelling ,screaming ,homeless […] people around the motel all night long!!It was very scary !!!! I could not sleep we packed up early and left almost thought bout leaving at 1am but to scared to go get the car!! Also,when I booked I told the expedia phone receptionist I wanted a non-smoking room which they had in their computer that I wanted smoking which was incorrect. Terrible service. We checked-in at 4 pm - they give us a key, room was not ready. Cleaning was just started at 4.10 pm. We were able to move in only at 4.40 pm. Bedsheet was with black spots. In the room I found butt on the floor. Never use this hotel.
