"Perfect Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!
"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.
"Comfortable & Convenient"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Very comfortable room; close to airport - which is what I wanted.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
Room was good - a great value for the price! Just a few minor complaints - TV remote didn't work; a little noisy late at night (Saturday night; we were next to the elevator). Beds: very comfortable. Pillows, not so much (overly firm). Bathroom small but clean, bath/shower good, water pressure and temperature fine. Nice pool, adequate gym. Convenient in/out parking, reduced price with hotel validation. Front desk staff: helpful and polite.

"Great value, but small room"
We had a good experience in this room, but it was slightly cramped. Their service and cleanliness was outstanding.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. We were so happy with the location, close to everything (St. Catherine Street, Metro, parking). The only downside was that it got a little noisy at night from the other guests in the hallway. But there wasn't any noise from outside, nice and quiet. It was also quite cold the weekend we were there, but the […] heat in the room was more than sufficient and we were able to control it ourselves. The bathroom wasn't anything special, but it served its purpose. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Read more
"Good place!!"
Overall great! Good location and there is an amazing breakfast place attached to the hotel! The bathrooms are kind of small and eurolike

"You get what you pay for"
It's cheap compared to the hotels around it. It's also pretty clean and the rooms are nice. The service was so-so, but I usually don't care about service. One problem encountered was that the maximum temperature of the water wasn't very hot and that kinda bummed me out because I wanted to take a relaxing bath.
"Close to Bell Centre"
This was very close to Bell Centre and St. Catherine's. Found plenty of things to do all within a short walking distance. Also the 747 Express bus from the airport picks you up/drops you off a block away. Very convenient! Wifi was a big plus, too! Overall, it had everything I needed.
"Great value for money,"
Great value for money, a good 3 star Hotel, would recommend anyone to stay.
"Good Deal for Montreal"
This hotel is meant for the traveler who expects a clean hotel room with modern amenities without anything else. If your goal is to have a hotel room to sleep in and leave in the morning, this is perfect. If you want to eat breakfast, there is a perfect breakfast restaurant downstairs. Internet was spotty but I was in a corner room. The flooring in […] my room was hard woods, which is great for people with allergies but a little cold in the style. My trip was for business so this was perfect since I was paying for it but I would not have expected my wife to stay there. Read more
"great for the price"
This hotel is soooo close to everything...the clubs, the malls, the metro station, everything! The outside of the hotel looks really ghetto but the inside is clean and nice. It's not a 5 star hotel but it's definitely worth the price you pay. I enjoyed my stay. Very affordable :) I would stay again.
"Economical and comfortable"
I had a very good experience at the Best Western Plus Downtown-Hotel Europa. The staff at the front desk were friendly, the internet was free, the bed and bed linens were very comfortable (the pillows are thick and firm, which I like), and the hotel was very conveniently located. I could walk just a few blocks to the conference I was attending, as well […] as to shopping and coffee shops and a metro station. The rooms are not luxurious, but had everything I needed. The internet was down for a few hours the morning of my first day, but was back up again by the time I returned from a conference session. The hotel opened a restaurant the day I arrived but does not have room service. I did not try the restaurant, so I don't know what it offers. I was only in my room at night to sleep, but I was very satisfied. Read more
"Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown-Hotel Europa"
All in all my wife and I were satisfied with our long weekend stay...great location. The location is only about 6 blocks from the central station. Certainly not the amenities of the Queen Elizabeth...but not the cost either. Only disconcerting note, a midnight fire alarm, (laundry dryer lint fire issue), no individual room call (aka reverse 911 call). […] We're heavy sleepers and slept through the first alarm. Front desk was a little disorganized in handling the multiple room phone inquires as to what was going on. Would we go back on our next visit...yes! Read more

"Best western hotel europa"
The hotel is nice, the location is great if you are going to the Bell center. The bathroom is very nice but extremely tight! I didn't have a problem but a tall or wide person would definitely have an issue! The toilet bowl is almost on top of the tub. We actually had an issue with the bowl as soon as we checked in, my fiancee called the front desk and […] they had no one available to fix it, until the next day?! He wound up fixing it since he is very handy, I thought we should bill them for the repair but we didnt mention it. There's a breakfast place in the hotel, chez Cora, I highly recommend it! Read more

"Great Location but the walls are way too thin..."
It was in a great location. We could walk to everywhere. On the first day, we walked to Notre-Dame and the old Montreal. Later, we found a Pixi Station was just at the corner of Drummond and St. Catherine O. so we used Pixi to everywhere after wards. Very convenient! The walls at the hotel are extremely thin. We can hear everyone's conversation loud […] and clear from the hallway or from the room. Unfortunately for us, there was a large group of high school/college kids partying on the floor the entire night and we could not sleep. The hotel would have been fine if it wasn't for those super thin wall. Read more
"Don't Forget the Do Not Disturb Sign"
I love this hotel I stay there every time that there is a concert at the Belle Centre because it is so close and in a great part of town however the maid service comes around very early 8:30am and she entered my room TWICE this time waking me up both times so just don't forget to put the do not disturb sign on the door and you will be golden!
"Not a great hotel fro business traveller"
Small room and old building. It's good for the tourist but not for business traveller.

"Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown-Hotel Europa"
This hotel was in a prime location! We spent two nights here and never took the car out of the lot across the street. Within walking distance to many attractions! We had two rooms with two double beds each that were the largest rooms we've ever had in a hotel! Very spacious! I've read that the single rooms are much smaller though! Rooms were very clean […] and comfortable. The staff were pleasant. Parking attendant not so pleasant across the street but expected in a big city. The restaurant "Cora's" was very good and recommended by my canadian family. The lounge that is connected to the hotel but not affiliated with the hotel never told us it was cash only! He did not except credit cards and he discounted american money 15%! Luckily our canadian family paid with canadian money! I feel that the bartender should have expressed that especially seeing we were the only people in the place! There was no sign either so always ask first! I would definitely stay here again! The price was good too! Read more

"great location.. great price"
This was our 2nd time staying at the Hotel Europa and we were happily surprised! The first time was about 6 years ago, and it was just ok. We booked this second time only because the hotel we usually stay at, about 3 times a year, was already booked. Our room was great! It appeared to have been recently done over, including hardware floors! The rooms […] were very clean. The beds were comfy with soft linens. There is free Wi-Fi in the rooms. The location was great: close to everything in downtown. The only set back is no available parking from the hotel directly. We parked in a garage one block away, but it really was no big deal. We probably will make this hotel our "new" regular place to stay in Montreal! Read more
"good location & value, ok quality"
Overall nothing fancy, but a good value. Positives: The price was really good. If you want to be near the Cresent St/St Catherine St area, this is a good location. There's a gym (although it's small w limited equipment/machines). Rooms & hotel clean. Negatives: Dingy hallways, small rooms, loud AC unit, can hear loud people in hallway.
"Average Hotel in Prime Location"
Average Hotel in Prime Location i wouldn't recommend this hotel to a family. It's more a place to just sleep after enjoying the nightlife of Montreal.
Wish that my room had a refrigerator and a safe box. Everything else was fine
"Best Western Europa"
I went to Montreal to get eye surgery down the road from the hotel, which was the perfect location. however, i wasnt expecting to take my shower until the morning of because i couldnt take one for 24hrs after the surgery. i went to take a shower and the shower handle was broken and i told the front desk before i headed to the surgery that morning and […] expected to have it fixed by the time i got back. after having the surgery i went up stairs to make sure, but alas, it was still broken. what should have been a period of rest, i had to go all the way back downstairs, talk to the front desk, go back upstairs and wait for a man to fix it. it was an extremely uncomfortable 45 minutes waiting for a shower to be fixed that should have been fixed hours before hand. i was leaving the next day and was unable to take a shower because of my surgery restrictions. the only good things about my experience there were the fact that my room was very clean and well presented, and the woman whom i originally talked to upon entering the hotel put me in a quiet room knowing i had eye surgery and knowing there was extremely important hockey game happening just down the road. Bad maintenance accountability and promtness. Read more

"TINY Room, but otherwise nice"
The public areas of the hotel are run down, but the room was very clean. The floors in the room were wood, which I much prefer to gross hotel carpeting. We stayed in a room with one queen bed. The room was about the size of a postage stamp. The bed took up almost the entire room. There was a tiny table stuck in the corner, a small dresser, and a small […] closet with very little room to walk between. The door to another room was propped open by the cleaning staff, and that room seemed much larger. It looked like a room with a king bed. Overall, this hotel is worth it if you're able to get a good price. It's in a nice location within walking distance of many restaurants. Read more
Except the size of room it was very good.

"Best Western - best deal for locatoin"
I was recently at the Hotel Europa in Montreal for an academic conference. As I am a student, I was unable to pay the outrageous rate the actual conference hotel was charging so instead I stayed here, which was literally a 2 minute walk away and far cheaper. The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet. You also have free wi-fi and two computers in the […] lobby w/ a printer so you can print airline boarding passes. The front desk staff was very friendly and able to give recommendations for sightseeing, dining, and public transportation in English and French. All in all, a lovely stay in Montreal. Read more
"Hotel Europa-Best Western Montreal - great place!"
Great place to stay! Right in the middle of all the action in Montreal! Hotel staff was extremely friendly!! Would definitely stay here again without a doubt! Enjoyed the stay!
"mysterious smells"
The bathroom had a mysterious moldy smell that was very strong. There was only a small hand towel in the bathroom, no wash towels or big bath towels. I had to call the front desk to have them bring up some towels, still no wash towels! Oh, well. The lobby was old style elegance with fountains and pools. Good location-walking distance to St. Catherine […] Street. Read more

"Great location- okay hotel for the price"
THis hotel is right off St. Catherine- where all the shopping is! Cons are definitely that the rooms are a little small. But the sheets and bed linens were just fine. The hotel is definitely an older hotel, but not bad for the price. Parking is the biggest problem- $20 overnight and $10 if you come and go during the day. The attendant is not very accomadating, […] either. If possible, try to find street parking overnight and just pay the meters in the morning. So do factor that into the price- $20 each night for parking could make you want to consider another hotel. Other than that, though, I would do it again. Read more

"Inexpensive, clean rooms in great location"
This hotel is a half block from Rue St. Catherine, the shopping and restaurant center of Montreal, great location. Rooms are small, but clean. . . you don't stay in this part of Montreal to spend time in your room.
