Our family of 4 had stayed in this hotel on Dec 26/27 2013. Hotel has a good location, just south of the St. Catherine street. The room was big enough, and looked clean (although its visible that the hotel is a bit dated). It would be a good hit if there wasn't a nasty surprise in the morning - the parking across from the hotel was not really hotel's […] parking (despite such table at its entrance), but is privately owned. I had to pay an extra (cca) 25% for the overnight parking. To me it was a surprise, but since I was booking on my cell phone, I might have missed that information in description. Still, even if is true, that raises the price of the 1 night stay to the level where I am sure I could find better hotel, with parking included, for the same amount. And if I have to drive 5-10 mins from St. Catherine's to that other hotel, so be it. For those who are coming to Montreal alone, and want to be close to the main streets, this might be a good place. For others, check the rates carefully before you choose. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than expected 5 star stay at 3 star price"
Stayed at this hotel the day before a stay at a $350 a day hotel a block away. This hotel was more than half the price and twice as better than the 5 star hotel a block away, this was a 5 star stay at a 3 star priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the Bell Centre"
Hotel Europa is a safe, clean. affordable choice for out-of-towners looking for a place to stay when attending hockey games or other events at the Bell Centre. The on-site restaurant is very convenient for grabbing breakfast before hitting the road. The parking lot across the street is very convenient, as is the option of charging the parking fee to […] your room bill. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient downtown location"
I wasn't expecting 5 star, and neither should you. But for what it is, this hotel was what I needed for a couple of days on business. It fits its 3 star rating, but it was good. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The servers in the bar and restaurant were nice, and the pizza I had at the restaurant was actually pretty good. It's a convenient […] location if you want to be right downtown, and only about 3 short blocks walk from the central train station. For the price and convenience, I'd stay here again. "Clean, Attractive Room, Friendly Staff"
The staff was unfailingly helpful and went out of their way to help us get where we wanted to go. The drain was slow in the bath, but was repaired lickety-split as soon as we brought it to their attention. The entire room was spotless. We tremendously enjoyed our stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel with convenient location near the park"
My only complaint is the parking situation. You can either park your car in a lot across the street for $20/day or in a garage one street over for $15. We went with the lot across the street and it turned out to be the kind of lot where there is a center row of cars and one of the cars in the two outer rows has to move to let a center-row parked car […] out. We parke in the center row but still got called at 7 AM to move our car because the car next to us was boxed in and they couldn't get a hold of the owners of the cars parked in front of or behind it (understandable given that it was 7 AM). Then after we moved our car the poor person who was boxed in had to do some tight maneuvering to get their car out. On-street parking would have been better than that. However, other than the parking situation, the hotel was great. Rooms are smaller than you would encounter at an American hotel (adding a trundle bed would have made our room with one queen size bed cramped), but for two people it was more than enough space. And the breakfest reastaurant in the lobby is fantastic! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Semi-central location downtown -----NO PARKING"
A large sign indicates hotel parking directly across from lobby. Attendant is not really interested in explaining the method of getting your car when needed, as they take the keys and outrageous 25$ per night. Very annoying. With heavy bags and bad legs we had to shuffle down steps to get to lobby. Turns out there is a luggage elevator, but no one […] to point that out. We found out much later by accident. The rooms were nice but the hallways were very crowded when the service people were working. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No voice messages received on phone"
Phone calls to our room did not have voice mail. Reception personnel told us messages would be brought to our room. We did not receive any messages though various family members told us they left them. These messages were left in English and French. Also parking across street is $25 not $15 as we were led to believe. Location is great-right in heart […] of downtown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Drummond St. BW Hotel location was perfect for walking visits to Notre Dame, Mount Royal(great minor workout), Rue St. Catherine's 'totally everything'(shopping, food, entertainment...) and the well maintained METRO(which took us everywhere else(Botanical Gardens, BIO Dome, Olympic Center St. Joseph's Oratory.....)Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice! Excellent Location!"
This is the first Best Western I've visited and it was nice. It's not that small, rather it's traditional European. Very contemporary stylings and the bed was fantastic. I was a little taken aback by the wall of mirrors -- it's was very disconcerting! However, it did help illuminate the room. The hotel restaurant, Serge Henri was very good. The other […] breakfast place seemed a bit pricey, so I walked down St. Catherine for something cheaper. The hotel's location is stellar. It's steps from Rue Sts Catherine (crazy crowded w/students) and Rue Rene Lavinque - two main roadways. Very close to 2 metro stops. And if you love hockey, it's steps away from Centre Bell. I'd definitely stay again. :-) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great last minute reservation."
Great location, easy parking and very clean room. The room was a small queen which wasn't an understatement but for one night or a couple of nights the size was fine. Very modern room and clean so we were happy with that.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Small but comfortable room."
I had a very pleasant stay here. I booked a room with a single queen bed for one night, and I got checked in with no problems. The staff at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The room was relatively small; I was alone so I was comfortable, but a couple would probably feel a bit cramped. Nevertheless, the room was clean and met all of my […] practical expectations. Free wireless internet is a big plus, and a major deciding factor factor for me. Other factors were its location downtown, next to many shops and restaurants, and a more reasonable price than nearby hotels. It's a great value and I would definitely stay here again. "Great place to stay"
This hotel is located right in the heart of the downtown core. It's close to a lot of shops and restaurants. This location is also very convenient for taking advantage of the public transit system Montreal has to offer, via bus and subway. For only $9 a day you can get a day pass to use on both bus and subway. I was only in town for a night but I purchased […] this pass at the airport and saved a lot of money on taxis. I paid the $9 and got a bus to and from the airport and subway to and from the concert I attended. Great savings! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, clean, and cheap"
Easy to find, easy to park (nearby for about $15/day), small queen sized room, but very clean and comfortable. Quiet. In a great location by St. Catherine Street, bixi bikes, and some metro stops.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the center of everything"
The hotel is right in the center of the city and close to the subway and cose to the airport shuttle. The room was not large, but just the right size for us. The hotel staff from the desk to the housekeeper were very friendly and helpful. Everyone made you feel welcome and answered all our questions. I would definately stay there again!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but not a 3 star hotel."
The rooms had unusual layouts and very small windows, some with a view of a wall a few feet away, so no light in the room at all. It was also not well cleaned. The elevators are tiny and out of date as are the hallway areas. The location was excellent and the lobby and decor are nice enough but overall it felt more like a 2 star hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Huge clean room, but extremely small bathroom. Ask for your in-out parking voucher before you park at the lot. No safe in the room. Very professional staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice spot in a nice spot"
Everything was the way it should be. Nice location. Well kept. Nice staff. Had room with 2 doubles. It was a little small so not great layout. I'll stay in king room next time.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Close to the downtown sights and Metro"
Located very close to Metro stations (Green Line, I believe) and downtown sights. The surrunding neighborhood had plenty of restaurants and shopping and it was not too far from the Old PortGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for an urban traveler"
The hotel itself was fairly nice. The room was in great shape. The staff was not particularly knowledgable or friendly, they did not hinder our experience. The location was mixed; it was nice to be near Saint Catherine Street, but the neighborhood was dodgy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great front desk; invasive maid service."
We enjoyed our stay. The women at the front desk were great, going the extra mile to tell us about the Metro and where to find a good restaurant. The room was comfortable, clean, the bedding superb, and the location was near the train station, which worked for us. The only annoyance was that the maid knocked on our door at 8:15am. I said a few grumpy […] words to her in French. She produced a list of the rooms she had to clean, and informed me she started at 8am. Well, excuse me. We did forget to put the Ne Pas Deranger sign outside, but we have stayed in many name-brand hotels without putting the sign on the door and have never been harassed by a maid before. We'll probably stay there again, though, despite the little incident. Overall, an 8. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for partying"
We stayed at another hotel during our stay in Montreal but moved to the Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown-Hotel Europa because of lodging rate increase for one night. The Best Western was closer to the crowds on Saint Catherine, as a result the guests were younger and noisier. The room was small and crowded. We are glad that we had only one night […] of lodging. The one positive was that the location was close to the bus to the airport. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
