"Perfect location in the heart of Taos!"
Cheryl, the manager, was wonderful in accommodating our changing schedule after a long road trip! The cleaning gal was great and everyone at the lodge was very kind. Thank you all!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Totally worth every penny"
We got up graded so we and our friends could have rooms next to each other for free.we never even ask and it was taken care of before we even arrived.the whole staff was so friendly.room was very room.the pool, hot tub,bar and lounge were great.the best $70 for a room ever.everynight you get a free native dance.hands down worth the moneyGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice room but really needs a refrigerator and microwave in room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to old town"
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of old Taos and not far from the Taos pueblo. The receptionist was very helpful and was able to have a refrigerator and microwave delivered to our room at no charge. The facilities are run down. There is a Native American dance at the hotel frequently in the evenings (donations accepted). The […] rate was very reasonable compared to other hotel rates. It includes a full hot breakfast that you order in the adjacent cafe. The in-room internet access was not working for the 3 nights we were there but it was accessible in the lobby. Great property that only needs some fleshing up around the fringes. Otherwise comfortable, had all amenities we needed, and most convenient..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Classic Taos Hotel..."
This is an older, but a classic, hotel! The location is excellent, it has a large heated pool, and a hot breakfast is served every morning. You can't beat it for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had the pleasure of staying there last summer & again this summer. A friend of ours stayed at the hotel across the street & altho their rooms are quite nicer (which you only sleep in anyway) she thought the Kacina was way better in the amenities category. Bigger pool, cafe & lounge (altho it never seems to be open when we're there). We will be back […] again next summer..... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Decent-clean rooms.and nice people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location with a brew pup right next door; great breakfast, but let's face it the place was built in the 1960's and is very good from an historical perspective; just walk around and marvel at the large meeting rooms. Comfortable, affordable and great location. AWGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Good Location"
The location was perfect for its proximity to Taos Pueblo and points north, and was in walking distance to plaza restaurants and shopping. Nice pool, lots of greenway and benches, friendly and helpful staff, and decent morning breakfast, but hotel itself a bit run down. It screams potential! "Classic and Stylish"
This hotel may have some small issues, but I have stayed at all the different hotels in Taos over the last 30 years and the Kachina Lodge deserves a higher rating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and hot. Very nice lobby and quiet room. Walking distance to everything you need.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel in walking distance to Plaza"
Main building and lobby looked very nice, old, but stylish. We must have been assigned the oldest room, uncomfortable chairs, small fridge on the floor still had food from a previous guest in it. Bathroom was old and needed remodeling. No coffee maker in the room. Free breakfast was to be served, to chose from menu, in the breakfast room. Only one person […] running the fare. It took us 1 1/4 hrs to have a bowl of cereal and toast with coffee. I would not go back to this hotel. Sorry. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great for the price!"
It was quiet and very restful! The staff was pleasantly friendly and helpful! Could not have asked for better. Sleep well! Did not eat breakfast. Have in past and it was excellent. Can not wait till I get to return!Genuine Expedia guest review
"I love this place"
Very friendly staff, complimentary buffet breakfast and a friendship dance with some people from Taos Pueblo. It's in a nice neighborhood, great for a morning walk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We have stayed at the Kachina Lodge several times over the years when we go to Taos. Although hotel is somewhat antiquated it is comfortable and adequate for the price. The hotel staff was very cooperative in getting us a nice room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Kachina lodge taos nm"
Room was disgusting smelled of dog feces. Many stains on carpet. Checked out one day early even though were prepaid two nights. Smell so bad worth loosing $ for one night. Will never stay at Kachina lodge again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This must have been a jewel of a motel back in its day. Wonderful location, but badly in need of updates. Lukewarm water in bath. AC only fair. Carpet needs to be replaced. Excellent breakfast. Overall, a decent value for the money, though. Not much in Taos except top-of-the-line or hum drum....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was disappointed because the ad said there was a restaurant and lounge and both were closed. We had a nice room but wasn't excitrd about anything elseGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Easy Walking to Plaza"
This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel. The staff are really kind and helpful, and the rooms are large and clean. The rates are excellent for its location. It is an easy walk to the plaza and several art galleries.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't go if you have high expectations"
Staff seem overworked especially in the Kiva restaurant. Front desk doesn't give you a warm welcome and are not helpful. The rooms are dated with old small TV's, low wattage lamps and dark carpets which doesn't engender a warm welcome. Our air conditioner was undersized for the room and had a difficult time keeping it cool. The WIFI service was intermittent […] and slow - to get decent service you have to hang out in the lobby area. The ice maker didn't have ice a couple of times. One the plus side the hotel was quiet and the housekeeping staff did a good job and was very friendly. Free breakfast was a plus. Hotel is 4 blocks from the Plaza - an easy walk. Showers were hot with lots of hot water. The hot tub is closed for the summer months we were told. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Resterant style free breakfast"
No water glasses cleaning incomplete master key left in room. Safety concernsGenuine Expedia guest review
The pictures on the website do NOT accurately reflect this motel. I'm more frugal than most, but I struggled to stay here overnight, despite the cheap price tag. The walls were cracked, sheets felt damp, carpet was stained, and bathrooms were dirty. Everything was dated, and it was extremely small. Even if you're on a budget, do NOT take this risk….spend […] a few extra bucks on something nicer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
For a Historic hotel the rooms were comfortable and clean. The carpets are in need of being replaced. The breakfast was good as was the service. I recommend this Hotel for any budget conscience travelers. Great "Local" flavor !Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Didn't feel safe- the staff really tried but the hotel is in very poor shape. Weather rot, pigeons/droppings directly overhead and consumed the 2nd floor, water damage. Several things broken or not working ..ice machines, hot tub etc. Just sad to see it in that condition. Worth the extra $ to stay across the street, we did and no regrets.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Went to Taos for the weekend right after the Pow Wow. Luckily we had gotten our room three days in advance because they had accidentally overbooked and were turning people away. The rooms weren't anything to brag about but they were fairly clean and big. The service was excellent though! From the front desk receptionist giving great suggestions of things […] to do, to the diner hostess (Angel) being so quick and friendly in serving us. I would most likely stay here again if I were to visit Taos again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"WOW... Can't believe the conditions"
I don't have the words to express my shock and awe...It was nearly identical to family on the Hotels.com TV commercial! The hotel states check-in is 1pm but didn't have any rooms ready until closer to 4pm.. that wasn't even on the top 10 problems. The hot tub was out-of-order, two of the three ice machines were out-of-order. We were instructed to be […] careful with the blinds as they would fall off if pulled too far open as they had no ends on them. Two doors down from one of our first room, was a sheet of plywood screwed over an opening with someone sitting outside smoking with a coffee can for an ashtray ?? We were met with the entire 2nd floor over our room covered in pigeons and droppings. There was a dead pigeon on the sidewalk in front of our room, covered in ants. Just sad and ran down. Our second room looked across at a room with water pouring out of it and across the parking lot, the entire stay. The included breakfast was fair but the waitress serving everyone was absolutely delightful. Bless her! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"NOT as advertised but good location."
My mom and I stayed 2 nights. The setting of this hotel is quaint and grass courtyard pretty. The waitress, Angel in coffee shop was great, breakfast was nice. You have a choice of a few cooked to order items. The restaurant and lounge were closed. The sign said liqueur Lic to expensive. Only 1 ice machine worked and it was empty. They messed up on […] the room reservation. However, they did their best to accommodate us. Jacuzzi was closed, room ok, but bathroom smelled musty. Limited TV channels on old TV. You could tell this hotel was great at one time, but it needs deep cleaned and updated. Not really worth the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great older hotel"
If you like older hotels, you will probably be pleased with this beautiful hotel. Highlights of our stay were a Pueblo Indian dance performed for guests outdoors, swimming in a heated pool, being within easy walking distance of the Taos plaza, and a full breakfast with very friendly service. Cons were the hot water in the shower was not very hot and […] the toilet flapper did not seal properly, so we could hear the toilet running off and on all night. We had a really nice stay. We travel around NM a lot and don't need anything fancy. We like the good sized room, cleanliness, friendliness and comfort. The breakfast buffet and staff were decent, but seriously disorganized. Front desk staff were outstanding! We had a one night stay booked and when we discovered our second night stay at another hotel […] were horrible, Kachina staff accomodated us immediately and were really sweet and understanding about it. We were in a non smoking room, but had a "next door neighbor" who sat outside his room and smoked the entire time were were there so some separation between smoking and non would work better. Overall, it was very pleasant. We will absolutly return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Restful & Refreshing"
It's a blessing that a classic, large Taos "motor lodge" is still available to us all! It is lovingly maintained, without too many modern, pricey frills. Treat yourself to '50s thru '80s elegance, while not too shabby at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
so we arrived and the boy was in training and he did ok, however we booked thru expedia and they didn't have our info. So he went back to the office and the lady did find our info. She had said that she was busy and she hadn't had time to print off all the outside reservations. Ok that's good, However there were ppl behind us and there was another lady […] working to behind the desk and she never once said to those behind us that she could help them. The lady that was helping us/with the boy, had said that the other lady could help those behind us. Those customers said,"Well, she never said anything." So that lady needs to be on top of her game, when ppl come in. Then we had to come back to the lobby to get an extra towel, and again the boy was helping another customer. The other two ladies were nowhere to be seen. The phone kept ringing and I felt bad for the boy bc not only is answering the phones but also trying to wait on the other ppl. Finally, the other two woman came back in (im assuming went outside to smoke) and the phone was ringing again. The lady that was helping the boy answered the phone, and the other lady didn't even acknowledge me. Finally, when the boy was done, he did help me. Then at night the Indian dances they had-what a joke. First off they were over an hr late. One of them said one of the dancers had forgot his outfit, another older man said a key. Then when I think of Indian dances, I think of the fire pit going and a whole bunch of dancers-not just 2 Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice quiet place to stay"
We have stayed in this motel a number of times over the past few years. This time we booked a room with king size bed and the room was very spacious compared to previous rooms we have had. Definitely worth a few dollars more. Breakfast choices are a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"If you really need to find a cheap room"
The room was quiet and they offer a small but hot breakfast with 4 or so choices. There was no hot water, not even reasonably warm water and I let it run in hopes of getting warm enough to shower. Air conditioner didn't cool the room the first night but was fixed the 2nd. Cleaning staff came late morning when I happened to be in the room but never came […] back. Front desk staff curt. I love staying here. I don't have real high expectations in NM. It's obvious that they work hard with what it is, old. Remodeling is the only way to make it better in my opinion.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, great price, pretty decent breakfast, Staff was friendly but hotel has seen better days...I'd say 30 years ago. If a well maintained place is important to you I'd say stay away. I'd probably stay again but I would be afraid to recomend it to some one else!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Expedia reserved the wrong room. The clerk told me all about it. The photos are online are not what the room was like. Very tacky. Dirty. Stained and smelly carpet. Matress wornnout. Linens appeared used. Did not even want to use the towels or shower. Slept in my clothes. The internet connection was good. Horrible, unless you cannot pay more than $60 […] to $80.
