We picked this hotel as a good location to see friends on a recent visit to England. Whilst the check in process was efficient and the room was clean the beds weren't that comfortable. We needed internet to keep in touch with work back in America but they charged an extortionate fee to access; Breakfast is way overpriced AND they charge a daily rate […] to park there! The hotel is ideally placed for the Touchwood shopping centre and the restaurants there however on Fridays and Saturday evenings there is a lot of noise from the bars there. Overall, as a Priority Club Card Holder, I was very disappointed and felt ripped off at the end of our stay - Avoid unless you are on business expenses. Read more

ideal base for shopping trip, Touchwood is just accross the road. Staff very helpful and friendly. This is the 2nd time I have stayed and would love to return later in the year. they allocated me a disabled room and i am not disabled - near noisy lifts and stairs plus the room was large with lots of empty space and all sorts of disabled gadgets - fine for someone who needs such a room but i would have liked more comfort and less noise - dissapointing

There's a nightclub on the other side of the road which plays music until VERY late. I couldn't get any sleep even with ear plugs. Also the room was freezing. I put the heating on full but there was a huge cold draft in the hall area that the heating couldn't cope. I mentioned it to the staff, they said I could have moved room, but I didn't have time […] (or the inclination) for that, and that is missing the point. I ordered a chicken burger in the bar. Waited 40 minutes and got a beef burger. All in all an awful stay. Read more

The hotel was clean, and in a convenient spot for what we wanted. In general the staff were friendly but I was disappointed that reception said I had not booked breakfast when I had definitely done so. On producing my Hotels.com printed confirmation stating Full Breakfast the comment was that that just showed that breakfast was available but on this […] occasion they would include it. That annoyed me. The breakfast was good,and plentiful. There was also an overnight charge for the use of the car park of which I was unaware. The hotel was lovely, the staff were more than helpful ... as far as going the extra mile one young lady on reception gave me a pound out of her own pocket for the locker in the changing room in the spa, she was in there just about to start her shift. everyone was very plesant and happy to help. only stayed 2 nights but would love to have stayed longer, […] shopping center just across the road... with all you could need , lovely place we found to eat coast to coast food amazing any time of day and the staff where lovely . our last night waited one and a half hours because it was so busy !! but worth the wait . We booked a total of 5 rooms all together. One room was given back to the hotel on the day as one of the delegates had cancelled. The staff would not let us book in for one guest who wasn't arriving until late. He arrived and checked in after the function that we were attending. Approximately 3am. We were sitting in the bar and one of the hotel staff […] approached us and told us that the room he had checked into had been given away. We had to return his key and he had to share a room with one of the other delegates - a female!!. I find this totally unacceptable. Can you advise please? Read more

Tired hotel, may have been designed for the business originally however the weekend stag and hen dos's seem to have taken teir toll. Tv's older than me and central heating that sounds as if a beam engine is running all night in the boiler room. Avoid

Hotel is well signed and easy to find. Check in very easy and the room good.Visit rather spoiled by noisy neighbours. Access to shops, cinema great (just across the road). Do not like the hidden £5 parking fee. Overall good value and very convenient - just hope you get quiet people in next door!

I've used this hotel twice now and I guess it's fine if like me you just need somewhere in the area for one night. While there is no one thing perticularly bad, I find virtually everything about this hotel bland, lack lustre and boring. The dinner menu is very limited and both the dinner and the breakfast the next day were very poor to be polite. If […] you use this hotel as somewhere purely functional then I guess it's fine for the area, but I'd hate to end up somewhere like this with my family for a few nights. To be honest, I have not used most of the facilities so I can't comment. The staff at the reception area were very polite although I requested a wake up call which I did not recieve the following day. Having stayed at a number of Holiday Inn's in the UK and Europe, we found that the standards and facilities were good and as expected for a four star hotel. The Dinner menu was not elaborate, what you would expect in a good pub. However the food selected was well cooked and enjoyable. Only here one night for a concert at the LG, not too far to travel in a taxi except it was snowing, nice hotel, big large comfy bed and room was very good, didn't get to sample any food so can't comment, but would definitely stay there again, staff were very friendly and helpful

I was visiting Solihull for one night only for a 40th birthday party so wasn't looking for anywhere too grand. However I dropped really lucky with the Holiday Inn. It was a perfect location for me. 10mins walk from the rail station and only 5 mins walk to the centre of Solihull. A 4 star hotel with lots of facilities but for a budget hotel rate. Have stayed in this hotel numerous times and its always a hassle free stay. Very friendly and helpful staff and the location is perfect for touchwood and other attractions. The only issue I have is with breakfast. £14 each seems very expensive for 2 people, so much so we went somewhere else and had a lovely breakfast for £6!
