Much of Sedona has become jammed with tourists, which is one reason that L'Auberge is such a delight. Located on the banks of Oak Creek, it provides the beauty and solitude of a natural setting and the convenient luxury of a Five Star restaurant, a first class outdoor bar and nicely-appointed rooms. We stayed 3 days and never left the grounds. As a frequent visitor to Sedona, I can safely say that the restaurant is among the top 3 in Sedona. And the pastry chef is dynamite. Every morning he prepares a variety of scones and other pastries including an apple pastry that disappeared from the pastry plates at the morning coffee in the lobby almost as soon as it arrived. L'Auberge is a great place to experience Sedona before it was discovered.

After check in the bellman was to show us where to park and help us with our luggage. He led us to the opposite side of the resort, and then left us there with all of our bags. We then had to walk to where we started with all of our luggage. This was not a very comfortable walk being that my wife is 7 months pregnant. We get into our room, and we were in a hurry to make our dinner reservations. There was no ironing board in the room, and it took two calls to the front desk, and 45 minutes later before we received our ironing board. The refrigerator in the room did not work, there was drywall dust all over the sink from what looked like a repair that had just taken place. Everytime anyone on the 2nd floor decided to take a shower or flush their toilet, it sounds like a fire hose in the wall. This room was definitely not worth the price.

At first I was taken back with the level of service that I received at this hotel. We have stayed at many high end hotels before and received what I considered standard service. L'Auberge really stands out among their competitors. When I walked to the reception desk to check in, a leather bound portfolio with my name on it and with keys was waiting for me requiring about a 2-3 minute check-in. The room was as nice as I expected with turn-down service, bath robe and chocolates waiting in the room on the bed. When I checked out, the staff was ready for me insisting that they open doors, take my bags out, etc. It was really a 1st class experience and they did it better than hotels charging more for the same type of accommodations.

Great place to get away from the "to do list" and rest... We have stayed here several times over the past 29 years and each is a pleasant memory. The restaurant has changed chefs and no longer is on our must do list.

This has got to be one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. If you want peace and quiet to wind down and relax, this is your place. The staff is the best from check in to check out. Sitting next to the creek is so peaceful and beautiful. We did see an older child staying at the resort, but I wouldn't call it "kid friendly". This is a singles or couples retreat. The worst thing about my stay was when I had to leave.

I don't believe this hotel is quite up to it's rating. When we arrived, I was told that tipping is not accepted at this hotel, however a $25.00 charge would be added to our bill that would cover all tipping...I found this very strange and viewed this as a padded charge. Secondly, when I took a shower the next morning, there was a dirt ring around the tub where it had not been cleaned. Upon departure, I communicated this to the young lady at checkout and she replied, " I'm sorry". Overall, I think this hotel has the potential, however as most travelers know, cleanliness of a room is far more important than scones or free coffee.

The stay at this hotel was enjoyable from start to finish. The property is beautiful and well-kept, the rooms are large and comfortable and there are lots of nice touches such as the evening wine reception and morning duck feeding at the creek. The non-tipping policy and outstanding friendliness of the staff was wonderful. Also had a great time at the spa with a truly talented massage therapist, and dinner at the restaurant was incredible. I only wish I had been able to stay longer and hope to go back!

Rather than just eating dinner, it was a dining experience.

My husband and I went to this hotel for a one-night romantic get away to celebrate his birthday. The hotel and setting were beautiful and the amenities were very good. The unfortunate thing is that our room had some sort of problem where every 30 minutes a loud clanging sound would occur and wake us from a dead sleep. It was well past 1:00 am when I finally rested from sheer exhaustion. The hotel personnel said there was nothing they could do and could not move us to another room. Needless to say, I was exhausted the next morning. I felt really bad because my husband and I had been so looking forward to this time alone. I spoke with the staff and felt like they were not taking my concerns seriously. I would like to try this place again, but I would stay in a cabin rather than the lodge.
