"Needs work! Dirty!"

The first problem was the person working the front desk took a copy of both my diver's license & my credit card. When we got into the room, the bathroom door was locked so I called the front desk. They didn't seem too concerned, actually rude, and said they'd try to get someone to our room. Th next problem was how dirty the sink was. There was a LOT of black whiskers on the sink, my husband has gray hair. The overall cleanliness of the room was bad. I will not be going back to that hotel.

We were in town for a wedding . Booked our room in advance with a cc, paid cash when we arrived. He then charged our card afterwards. Room was nasty, bed had Kleenex in which leads me to believe sheets not changed. Outlets didn't work, bathtub nasty. Got back to our room late and slept in our clothes. Woke up at 4 am to a woman screaming outside our room. I called the front desk to call the police. We complained when we checked out. We received an email from the manager stating his employees were not wrong, the room was clean and it was in the afternoon when kids were playing outside and yelling. It was 23 degrees that day! This place should be shut down!!! Never again. Do not stay here!!!

Room was dirty, pubic hair on floor, carpet not vacuumed, old fried chicken in refrigerator and worst of all, bed was FILTHY. Room and bathroom full of patched holes and caulk. No way would I have taken a shower in the filthy tub. Very disappointed. Worse room I have ever stayed in :(
I'm only rating this 2 stars because the housekeeping staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very outdated, there was no blanket on the bed (which housekeeping corrected the next day), the alarm clock in the room was broken, the bathtub drain closure was literally hanging from the tub, and the clips for the phone cord both from handset to phone and phone to wall were broken so neither would stay plugged in to even call the front desk. And since the alarm clock didn't work, forget about a wake up call. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. You could feel every coil/spring in the mattress. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. I would recommend the $1 sausage biscuit at McDonald's. If I had not already paid for 3 nights we booked (only because they charged my the morning of the reservation), I would have left after the first night. I would not recommend this to anyone, even as a last resort. You'd be better off sleeping in your car.

And I didnt expect much. Obvious price gauging that I knowingly paid for. Nearly $300 for one night on the last home football game of the season for Mississippi State and every other Starkville was booked. Thats fine, I went in eyes wide open for that. Couldve and shouldve stayed in Columbus. What I did expect but didnt get was decent tv reception and a comfortable bed. I expected 2 star for my 4 star price and got a 1. The tv was a flat screen, but with reception as grainy as my 3 channel 1984 antenna tv at deer camp. Gnats were present and bed was lumpy. Be very careful pulling in and out of drive because there is an unmarked trench you will cross that will not be kind to the front end of your car. I was able to get 2 low level 45 yard line football tickets and 2 on the court half court mens basketball seats for a cheaper combined cost than my one night at the Days Inn Starkville. I will never go back to that hotel.

This Days Inn location is to be avoided at all costs. Calling it a $H1Thole would be a disservice to all the other $H1T-holes in the world I am guessing that my so-called non-smoking room had gained that designation immediately prior to our booking the space. We walked out of the place after the second room they showed us smelled almost as bad as the first one. We didn't spend 10 minutes total in either room and left smelling of stale cigarette smoke mixed with Pine-Sol. Mmmmmm. Not once, but twice, (b/c i returned the next morning in an attempt to speak to a manager) the gentlemen working behind the counter at the Front Desk could not give me a refund or assure me that i wouldn't be charged for the room. Hey, property owners, if you're going to run such a shady business, at least empower your trusted employees to not steal from your potential patrons... The price point ($100) was less than some of the surrounding HOTELS, but this is a MOTEL with street level access to your room door. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra money and go to a decent place. I would not even book this insect infested dung heap for someone I didn't like.
"Nothing was right"

It was awful. The tub stopper didn't work, the shower head was clogged up so that only a few jets provided spray, there were only 2 towels in our bathroom, behind the bathroom door was covered with dust and hair, the blow dryer didn't work because the outlet was broken, there was a booger on the shower curtain, the wall in the dressing area had rusty air freshener that had leaked from an old can on the wall- it looked like a murder had occurred. It will be a cold day in hades before we stay there again. I would have rather slept in the car.

I booked 2 nights at the Days Inn in Starkville for a total of $438. My son and I checked in and he was sitting on the bed and said the bottom sheet came off. I went over to the bed to fix it and noticed a huge stain on the mattress. Then I pulled the sheets all the way back and the entire mattress was covered with stains. The sheets had a few large stains and holes. Same with the blanket. Desk clerk offered me a smoking room or clean sheets for the night both of which I declined. She said she could not give me a refund since the manager was out of town. One week later no refund. Lots of run around with Wyndam Corporation.
"Not happy with our stay!"

We recently made a trip to Starkville and stayed at the Days Inn, the rate was $215, with a discount. Not Worth it! The rooms were small, the sheets had holes, the bathroom was not clean, hair was left in the tub, not hair from your head either! Nasty! We could hear everyday conversation from the rooms around us. And late at night, you can imagine what the "conversations" were! Not happy with the price or the room! Will not stay again!
"Stayed in Better Days Inn"

My husband, brother, and sister-in-law stayed one night at the Days Inn to visit my nephew at Mississippi State University. As far as the proximity to the university, it's great. As for everything else, it's awful! Days Inn is not my hotel preference, but with Mississippi State being the #1 college football team right now, the choices were limited. Even still, I've stayed at much better Days Inns than this one. I reserved the room for 4 people, but they only provided 2 sets of towels. The telephone didn't work, so I had to walk across the parking lot to the front desk to request more. The manager handed me two washcloths and told me he would bring more. He did, but they were rags. The room was surface clean with major wear and tear. The tub was peeling, and the carpet was dirty. The ice machine was empty, and the complimentary breakfast the next morning consisted of tiny pastries and tiny pre-frozen sausage & biscuits wrapped in plastic. To make matters even worse, around 12am a crowd of young adults gathered in front of our room and partied until 2am. They kept hitting the window, and for a moment, I just knew they were going to kick the door in. We just dealt with it since we had chosen to stay close to a college campus on a Saturday football game night. Accommodations were scare to non-existent, but next time, we'll visit and turn around and leave.
