"Perfect Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!
"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.
"Comfortable & Convenient"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Very comfortable room; close to airport - which is what I wanted.

Room was good - a great value for the price! Just a few minor complaints - TV remote didn't work; a little noisy late at night (Saturday night; we were next to the elevator). Beds: very comfortable. Pillows, not so much (overly firm). Bathroom small but clean, bath/shower good, water pressure and temperature fine. Nice pool, adequate gym. Convenient in/out parking, reduced price with hotel validation. Front desk staff: helpful and polite.

"Made New Years Remarkable"
Great Lobby, Service, and Car Service - room decor was fine but not particularly striking
"Le Germain is not the same in Montreal as Toronto"
We booked our stay at the pricey Le Germain in Montreal as we were traveling for our anniversary. We were married 5 years ago in Toronto and, for that weekend, we stayed at Le Germain Toronto- an excpetional property with extraordinary service. I'm happy to report that Le Germain takes their service quite seriously, and that carried through to the property […] in Montreal. We were originally booked in a Superior Queen Room facing the street (room 801). This was a VERY closed-in, tight room and it was quite uncomfortable for two normal-sized adults. The furniture was in reasonably good condition but the bed was horribly flat. Additionally, we found it odd that there were no drawers in the room- just a few shelves above the ample hanging space in the closets. The net result was that when we unpacked our socks and underwear we had not choice but to put them high-up on the shelves above the hanging racks where it was hard to see/reach. However, the first night were were there (in the front-facing room) we were kept up nearly all night with noise from the building across the street where men were working overnight (from 2 AM- 6 AM) loading (loudly) garbage and debris into a commercial-sized dumptster. Mind you, until recently, I've lived in downtown Manhattan, New York City for over 20 years. I am CERTAINLY accustomed to city street noise, but this was insane. To the credit of the hotel and Dan- who was fabulously helpful- when we asked to be moved to a rear-facing room, they had none in our class so they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe King Room (507) in order to accomodate us. Indeed, the room was significantly larger and quieter, facing the back. Still, the bed was very soft/flat and we both suffered aching backs for the remainder of our stay. This is definitely not a luxury property. It's perfectly nice, clean and very well situated for getting around town. I think that, having stayed at the far superior Le Germain in Toronto, we had a very different expe Read more
"Le Germain Montreal -Great Service, Great Location"
Centrally located and convenient hotel. The room was large with contemporary, comfortable decor. The staff were fantastic, some of the best, most polite I've encountered. They made everything easy for us. I go to Montreal a lot to visit family and friends and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
"Great Place in Montreal"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Germain. The room was great and we enjoyed little touches like a floor reading lamp next to two chairs so that when one of us was sleeping, the other could get up, read and not disturb the other. The staff was great! Very helpful. They would go out of their way to help you with anything you wanted. We would definitely […] go back there again. Read more
"OK, but not first-rate"
While this was a comfortable stay in a nice location, it is not really a first-rate hotel and it is therefore overpriced. Problems included: breakfast very crowded (went a whole 40-minute breakfast without once being offered coffee, and they were constantly out of half the items offered); only one guest elevator, which made room access slow; turndown […] service some nights but not others; very skimpy supply of towels. And, with respect to all of these things, there was no attitude of apology or striving to fix it, but more a sense of annoyance that we noticed. Read more

"Great Boutique Hotel in Montreal"
I really enjoyed my 4 nites at Le Germain. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Lobby was comfortable and restful. Room decor was unique and modern but not pretentious. I thought the electronic signal for privacy or room cleaning was innovative. Wi-fi worked flawlessly, breakfast was very good (but the same everyday) and apples on every floor were a nice […] touch. Fitness room was okay. I will definitely stay here whenever in Montreal, a nice change from the big chain hotels. Read more
"Hotel Le Germain (Great location)"
Great Location, cool boutique style hotel. I have stayed at the new Le Germain in Toronto next to the AC center as well this month. Both hotels are nice, but the Montreal one is aging a bit. The A/C was hard to keep a constant temperature and the hotel shower was marginal (just a drip). Great hotel though, and the service was good. Front desk was friendly […] and helpful. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to stay a block of St. Catherines street in downtown Montreal. Read more
"Poor Continental breakfast"
There were no plates, silverware of food available for over 20 minutes. Coffee machine broke down and took a while to fix. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this service.
Read more
Chambres récentes, personnel sympa. A recommander.
"Hôtel le Germain Montréal"
Hôtel moderne et extra extra confortable même qu'il est difficile de sortir du lit le matin car trop confortable. Service exemplaire et situation parfaite pour le shopping en ville.
