I stayed here for business and it met all my needs. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and the staff was very helpful and pleasing to be around.

The hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful. My only comment was that Wi-fi was only in lobby and brasserie, not in hotel room. The spa area was neat and rooms were well appointed.

Out trip covered most of England and Wales over two weeks, and this was the best hotel of the trip. They had free internet, great room, best hot breakfast with great fresh fruit, and the price was decent. This one gets a 5 star rating.

Really enjoyed the stay. There was a minor inconvenience when the boiler broke down on the Sunday morning which meant we had to wait 3/4 of an hour for a shower, but these things happen and it was fixed straight away, the staff were all really pleasant and helpful. I will say again.

Of you have to stay in the abysmal location of Basingstoke for work, at least this hotel makes things a little more bearable. Very good service, a nice room, and decent internet bandwidth. No opportunity to try the breakfast however

We had lunch in the hotel in the afternoon when we arrived and the food was very poor. The breakfast was not worth having and once again the hot food was shocking. The towels in the bathroom were old and torn. We would not recommend this hotel.

This is a good/reasonable hotel (by European standards) - large room, good facilities (sauna, steam room and a swimming pool) as well as tennis courts (£12/hr including equipment). The room itself was nice (however, the ceiling was unfinished and only half decorated). TV channels were extremely limited and no fridge/mini-bar. Otherwise pleasant, comfortable […] bed. The staff were friendly (but I asked for some ice and got transferred to 2 other departments - the final one didn't pick up) and so I had to go to reception personally to ask for it. The room became quite hot (there was a fan in the room but no a/c). The restaurant area was excellent and was impressed by the breakfast. Very nice facilities and good location. Gym was good and staff helpful. The shower was a bit poor and the carpet in the room could have been cleaner but this is a common problem with city break style hotels. I would stay here again.

A long driveway up to an impressive house, lit up at night with Christmas lights in the trees. Drove through automatic gates into a stable courtyard to an absolutely lovely courtyard double bedroom (not executive) with huge bathroom. The room was just perfect for us - large, comfortable, modern with dimming lighting, free wifi, dvd player (films free […] for loan from reception), wonderful shower & had a safe too. Walked around the back of the hotel (umbrella in wardrobe) past a large lawn & very large dining terrace (must be perfect in summer) to go for dinner. Used our Tastecard (50% off food) in the dining room. Food tasty but tiny - after two courses my husband felt like he had eaten a starter. The size was fine for me at 9pm. Bar unfortunately lacking in atmosphere/character so we sat in the lovely library for a drink. Breakfast was great. Although I am a fan of buffet breakfasts, I was not disappointed. A good choice of freshly cooked bacon, etc & plenty of it (to my husband's delight). Cereals, juices & pastries available on the table. Couldn't really fault the hotel. It was good all round but not exceptional in any way. Facilities were very clean and comfortable; staff were helpful. Good Heath club. Useful location for anyone wishing to stay in the Basingstoke area. Signing to the hotel was not good so make you know where it is located before you set off.

From the moment we arrived, I was struck by the polite, friendly attitude of ALL the staff. As a wheelchair user I really appreciate people that go that extra mile, without being condescending. Bar staff very scarce at times, nobody there for 10 minute periods and then on one particular occasion, when he did return he was doing the serving and taking orders poor chap was overrun. We stayed at Hampshire Court for only one night, B&B. Extremely comfortable and well established. Breakfast very comprehensive, of excellent quality and well presented. Dining room clean and generously supplied with lovely food - staff most helpful and attentive. Excellent leisure facilities available, though not used. The only criticism we could find […] was that face cloths were not provided in the bathroom, (we had not brought our own, so this was an inconvenience) and there was only one bath towel. When I mentioned this fact as we checked out, I was asked if I'd looked in the drawer for another bath towel? In-room breakfast choices are poor - I've had a better selection of juices, cooked and non-cooked items for in-room breakfasts at 3 star hotels in Europe. And the bread basket was tiny and the pain-au-chocolat was burnt and hard! Very disappointing. However its the little details that disappoint like, no jam/honey with the bread basket. No spoon or […] sugar delivered with breakfast tray either ... I guess you're supposed to use the single spoon and sugar supplies that from the courtesy tray. I went to the restaurant to get some juice and a more substantial breakfast before I left and was very disappointed by the standard of the buffet. There were no muffins - the pain au chocolat was the same as the one in my room. The fruit selection wasn't exactly appealing either! To be honest I'm not really sure what makes this hotel 4*, the spa and gym aren't anything special or relaxing, there is no mini-bar in rooms, the room service menu is limited. The interior courtyard, which many rooms look onto, was ugly, hardly any plants or grass, mainly concrete, wood chippings, timber and "easy care" not but not relaxing to look at ... an improving on a car park I guess! The TV in the room, although flat screen was pretty small for the size of the room (I have bigger TV in a much smaller room at home) and there was a limited selection of channels and radio stations. Fine if you're just sleeping here and don't want room service. I wouldn't stay here for a weekend/spa break though. Read more

I'm sure this is a good business hotel, but its missing atmosphere for non-business guests. Restaurant could benefit from some personal touches with the tables, different lighting and more privacy etc. Could also benefit from a separate bar area for an evening drink; other than a coffee shop/bar which shuts early. I booked the Deluxe room which was fantastic..it was plush and a pleasure to stay in..I would recommend this to friends and family. Looked a very new Hotel & was pleasing to the eye from the outside. Very clean inside & had some nice features. Especially the Courtyard area surrounded by all four sides of the Hotel. We had a room by the stairs and found it to be very noisy in the hall ways at night and early morning. Breakfast was the best I had at a hotel all week. This is an excellent Hotel with a very good Spa and sports centre. We used the Spa facilities and the treatments were excellent. It is in beautiful surroundings and yet very close to the centre of Basingstoke. We stayed there in june for 4 nights. The quality of the breakfast is excellent. However the quality and service of the restaurant at dinner […] time is moderate. We had an otherwise very good experience, except for one incident regarding housekeeping. On the 3rd day we found out that the towels which were placed in our room by the housekeeper were dirty.
