"Good Stay but No coffee?"
Hotel is only a few miles from downtown and is in a convenient location. There is ample parking, bed was comfortable and room was clean and generally comfortable. I've never stayed at a brand name high end hotel before - a few resorts on vacation, and an untold number of sup8's for work. So when we arrived, I was impressed to see the clerks wearing suits. Very informative as to surrounding businesses. And of course, the cookie - didn't see that coming - yay for me. Usually when you book through a third party, […] the hotel staff can't change your r!ooms, but the gentlemen at this Double Tree quickly were able to upgrade us from the 2nd floor to a 1st floor Handicap Accessible Room, Good Job! Although the tub was a bit shallow and lacked 1 or 2 Safety Bars, it was great. One note of inconvenience: the heat lamp bulb in the bathroom was out leaving the tile floor cold (real cold). "easy to find, easy access out of town..."
Very disappointing..... My wife and I have stayed at this particular hotel when it was under a different management company..... FIRST, they put us in room 416 located right behind the elevators which would have been alright IF we had not been able to hear and feel a constant and LOUD noise and vibration.... I do not understand why the staff would place […] anyone in that room.... I called and asked for another room.... The front desk lady said she would do her best and would call me back in a few minutes..... After 20 minutes I went down to the desk and a man with a supervisor tag. I said that if he could not find another more satisfactory room, my wife and I would have to seek another hotel. The next room was satisfactory but no help was offered in moving our things which would have been helpful..... I had broken my right hand two weeks earlier and it was painful to move and lift the luggage.... Oh, and apparently there are/were only two or three luggage carriers available and not much was being done to locate them.... I finally followed a guest to his room so I could use the carrier when he finished..... We will not be coming back to this hotel.... We have stayed ten or 12 times over the past 6 years as we make the drive from MO to CA once or twice a year and when we travel hwy 40, we always stopped with you......We made the reservation a month in advance and were disappointed that a better room was not offered the first time around..... The back building, facing the woods is the place to stay, but it was being remodeled. So, I got the bad room (just read the reviews), I pointed it out, and was upgraded to a Jr. Suite. Great view, comfortable bed, very clean and the restaurant could not have been better. The overall hotel was very nice. Beds were very comfortable and staff was very nice. However they put us in a room where the door did not lock and could be opened from the outside without a key. Luckily we were staying with family and had adjoining rooms. We locked our room from the inside and used their door to come and go. "average hotel, extremely rude staff"
The staff at reception acted irritated by guests, even when simply checking in. I tried to call downstairs and the gentleman answering the phone wouldn't even let me finish my question before answering rudely and hanging up. Hotel was clean, new and modern. Staff was bright and cheery. Room was large. View out window was overlooking the pool area. It was covered because it was mid-30's at night. The room was very comfortable, but cold. The heat lamp in the bathroom did not work. There was no complimentary breakfast, which would have been nice. But the bed was heavenly. Overall we enjoyed our stay. However, we got a room on the second floor overlooking the roof of the first floor. I guess there was a generator nearby cause it was very loud. Odd layout with confusing floor and room numbering system. Asked for a quiet room away from elevators only to find that after walking a long way to find our room 2 doors from an elevator. As has happened occasionally with Hotels.com bookings, upon arrival at the half filled hotel we were put in the worst room available: next to the elevator and ice machine with a view from the small sunless window onto a narrow building alleyway and a window ledge being an obvious and long lived favorite pigeon roost. We stayed here one night on our way home from the Senior Games in St. George, Utah. Lobby was in the middle of an extensive renovation, including having registration set up on tables. Positives were the friendliness of the hotel staff. The negatives were that we recieved a king bed instead of 2 queen beds that we reserved, the NEW room was dirty with hair on the sheets and a lamp missing a lamp shade upon arrival. The dirty sheets were discovered late at night which required a service call to housekeeping who just handed us new sheets […] and explained that SOMETIMES the laundry doesn't clean the sheets to well! We politely said no and that they should make up the beds properly and take the dirty sheets away. We were very disappointed for a hotel that wants to use the Doubletree name.
