As has happened occasionally with Hotels.com bookings, upon arrival at the half filled hotel we were put in the worst room available: next to the elevator and ice machine with a view from the small sunless window onto a narrow building alleyway and a window ledge being an obvious and long lived favorite pigeon roost. We found the choice of food kind of expensive. Also, for some reason my head stuffed up as soon as I got into the room and didn't go away until I left the next day. First time staying in a hotel in Flagstaff, Az. Hotel looks better online, as does most of them I'm sure. Stayed on 3rd floor. Turned off heat because it was very warm. Never cooled off and it was winter with a temp of 37 degrees outside but over 75 or better inside room. We stayed here one night on our way home from the Senior Games in St. George, Utah. Lobby was in the middle of an extensive renovation, including having registration set up on tables. Positives were the friendliness of the hotel staff. The negatives were that we recieved a king bed instead of 2 queen beds that we reserved, the NEW room was dirty with hair on the sheets and a lamp missing a lamp shade upon arrival. The dirty sheets were discovered late at night which required a service call to housekeeping who just handed us new sheets […] and explained that SOMETIMES the laundry doesn't clean the sheets to well! We politely said no and that they should make up the beds properly and take the dirty sheets away. We were very disappointed for a hotel that wants to use the Doubletree name. This is a nice place with well trained staff. However, they are definitely due for some upgrades if they are teeming with Hilton. I'm doing a road trip from Los Angeles to Chicago, and I stayed at the Woodlands Hotel on my second night (and that was 2 nights ago as I write this). I honestly can remember next to nothing about the hotel room itself. I remember where it was, I remember the lounge, I remember the carpeting (which is hard to forget), I remember it being fine -- but […] I have absolutely no specific recollection about the room other than it was quiet, clean, and exactly what you expect a hotel room to be. Did it exceed expectations? No -- but it was perfectly fine. Or "pleasing," as the ratings prompt. Such a beautiful hotel!. Located right on the historic Route 66 and close to restaurants and shops. Only a 5 min drive from the hotel to downtown. The room was neatly clean, the bed was comfortable. This is s nice hotel under renovation. We booked a suite overlooking the the hills of east of Flagstaff , the suite was very nice and extremely clean. However, there was no hotel guide in the room listing any services or amenities. When I called room service to request one all I got was restaurant menu. As hungry and as tired as my fiancé were we […] order two New York strip steaks, that for some reason only comes with mashed potatoes. We had to request regular mashed. The order arrived within 20 minutes. The steaks, although cooked rare as requested were so full of gristle that they were virtually inedible. The requested regularly mashed potatoes were obviously hastily prepared with huge un mashed lumps. As for the mixed vegetables, these were limp soggy reheated frozen and disgusting. We would have done better at the local Sizzler's. The cost for this mess was over $70, and because of that and their atrocious food I cannot in good faith recommend the Woodlands for anybody. Flagstaff is a beautiful city, a city that I lived in many years ago, and I can guarantee that there so many better places and excellent venues to choose from than this disappointing high class hotel. had a very nice stay. the staff was very helpful when i locked myself out of the room, one of the staff came immediately with a new key. The lobby is finishing an upgrade, remodel. We splurged and got one of the more expensive hotels in Flagstaff, for a special trip. I was sorely disappointed. For around $180 there is NO refrigerator, and NO hairdryer. These days, that is a basic amenity even the bargain hotels provide. They are currently in renovation, and promising better things. But I wont be coming back anytime soon.Genuine Expedia guest review

I booked the room a month in advance to attend a conference held in this hotel. The hotel was in the midst of a renovation, which I was not informed of while booking. The room was extremely overpriced for the area. I booked a king single room since we were traveling without our children. It is a nicer hotel than others in the however, the cost is again […] unneccesarily high for the accomodations provided. We were given a room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean. The shower filled with water up to your ankles and the room did not include a frig or micro. We were not given a map or told of any of the amenities when we checked in.
