"Comfortable, clean & close to Boston College"
I stayed here for two nights while attending events at Boston College. I had not stayed in a Best Western for years, but this hotel was close to BC, had decent reviews and free parking, so I went for it. My room was clean, the bed comfortable, the breakfast good, the parking sufficient, and the front desk & breakfast room personnel friendly. The heater […] was a bit overpowering, so I just turned if off while I slept so I wouldn't overheat and that worked well. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Far from fancy but good price-value quality."
Hotels in the Boston area are expensive. This Best Western University was the most convenient hotel in the zone and it proved to be a good alternative. Very well located and its rooms had good space. The breakfast was regular. All in all I would recommend it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location with free parking and breakfast"
Very nice but the heater was broken in the room and there was a little too much noise. Stayed many times and it is well priced but need to have heaters working when it is 40 degrees outside otherwise would have given a 4.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked this hotel for our visit with friends in Brighton Center, and for that purpose it was very convenient. This is not a high quality hotel, but there is nothing wrong with it. All the room entrances are outside, and it's right off of Comm. Ave, which means the actual traffic outside the hotel is minimal. Additionally the Green Line runs just […] steps from the hotel, which was very convenient for going downtown. The front desk staff was very helpful, and they offer a free breakfast in the lobby every morning. The room was very clean, and our only complaint was some sort of mechanical humming that filled the room day and night - it sounded like a giant fan or generator in the walls. Consequently this potentially quiet room hummed and vibrated all night. I think it was just luck of the draw - we drew a room that happened to be next to a generator or central air unit. Otherwise, everything was to our satisfaction. You definitely get what you pay for at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to the T and decent restaurants."
When I made the reservation I had no idea where the hotel was. I was looking for something nearish to BU. It was right on the T and easy to get to BU and to downtown Boston. If I'd known in advance, I could have taken the T from the airport to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean (although the bath drain […] had a bit of dried soap in it). The free breakfast was good and plentiful with enough variety. I would stay in this hotel again and recommend it to friends/family. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent hotel $& close to "T" (rail car)"
Beautiful room, although bed way too soft. Paid a lot more than usual, I'm certain because of time of year. Was in Boston for BU parents weekend. The T (train) runs every few minutes and brings you everywhere! It runs fom Boston college to the government center - the green line. So grateful we were able to park at hotel and not have o deal with traffic […] or parking. The staff was a commuting & extremely pleasant. I'd go here again in a heartbeat. If you're interested in shopping, you can take the T directly to Newbury street--an incredible mile ling shopping area. Better than higher priced hotels because of convenience of T and quality of hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"nice hotel with a non-working heater at boston!"
We stayed here 2 nights, the heater was not working first night, and boston is a cold city! we called them they said they cannot do anything, no help at all! We were almost sick after first night, they fixed it for the second day even though the heater was periodically unfunctional! They did not even apologize for this inconvenience or no refund at […] all. Our trip became terrible due to this. I think no place has the right to say to the customer the fact that they cannot do anything if heater is not working, you find a maintainance or provide alternative ways to provide heating. "What a great place!"
This was such a positive experience for us! Stephanie and Zachary made us feel right at home. They helped us so much. We had so many questions and they answered all of them with big smiles on their faces. We appreciated them so much. The maids, workers,, anyone involved in working there, had friendly greetings for us and just made us feel special. We […] were in the area to go to the Freedom trail. From the motel, this involved learning how to ride the subway in to town. We did this each day and it was wonderful to be able to park the car and not move it for three days. We highly recommend this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was a little run down. Took awhile to get the air conditioner to stop putting out warm air. The breakfast area was also very warm. The people at the desk were very helpful. Great location! "Nice hotel close to St. Elizabeth's Hospital"
Manager was pleasant and accommodating. When we discovered our suite didn't have an alarm clock, he not only brought us a brand new alarm clock but set it up as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
This Hotel Was sketchy To Say The Least. I Booked A King, When I Arrived I Was Told They Only Had A 2 Double. My Keys Did.Not Work Until The 3Rd Trip To The Lobby. There Was One Employee In The Whole Place And He Was More Concerned With Watching TV With His Girlfriend And Baby Than Getting Me Into My Room. Not To Mention There Were NO Parking Spaces […] and The Employee Was Selling Parking Passed For Cash To People Off The Street. NEVER AGAIN Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The service provided by the employees was decent, but that did not make up for the dated, dirty rooms. The chair next to the bed was so dirty I was forced to sit on the bed and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. The mattresses are beyond needing to be replaced! There were no amenities such as a pool or restaurant which was also disappointing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel close to universities"
I have stayed several times before in this hotel because of its proximity to the universities. The staff is friendly and offers good customer service. The breakfast can use a bit more variety. Our room was a non smoking room although it smelled like cigarettes. We would stay again because of the convenience of the T.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best Western in the East"
My room was comfortable and clean. The staff was courteous and efficient. The price was good, by Boston area standards. I'd stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Too far away from downtown Boston, Hard to get information from the employe at the counter, she didn't seems to be happy to be there. It was our first time in Boston, we loved the city, but next time we will take another hotel. The price is expensive, compare to other ones with the same quality. But the breakfast was greatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
As others have mentioned, location-wise its not close to anything major but was within walking distance to many T stops and was perfect for where we needed to be. Stayed in the 400s for room. Room was clean and up to date. Came with a microwave and a fridge, which we didn't end up using but was convenient to have. Bathroom was a bit small but overall […] fine. The wifi was free though a bit spotty throughout the night (it was pretty unusable for the first hour). Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and much better than expected -- included hot pancakes, waffles and a cheese omelet on top of your typical cereals and toast. Overall a bit pricey for what it was, though we booked last minute and it was cheaper than other nearby hotels. No fancy amenities but plenty comfortable if you're just looking for a place to spend the night. Would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel for the price. close to Boston"
It was a short stay but suited our needs. Nice breakfast, comfortable and clean roomGenuine Expedia guest review
"Parking is VERY tight"
It was a clean serviceable room. Check in was fast and friendly. Room was small but had everything as described. It was not a high end hotel but it was comfortable, clean, and conveniently-located. The breakfast room was small -- the food the average spread for a chain hotel buffet (waffle-maker, coffee, danishes, etc). My only complaint was the limited […] parking. There were spaces when I arrived but when I returned from an event, I had to go in and ask where to park as there were no spaces left. I was directed to park on a strip between the sidewalk and the building. In the end it was fine, but difficult when I needed to park the car later. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A bit dated and noisy but convenience won us over"
This is a no-frills hotel and more like a motel, with room that open directly to the street. It's a dated building but fairly clean. We heard a droning noise all night from a generator or electrical motor coming from behind the back wall of our room, so if you stay ask for a room in another area. Stay away from the 500s. A friendly, helpful staff and […] decent free breakfast are definite positives. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't stay on the first floor!"
Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful in making taxi reservation for the next morning. The room was dark, with humidity. When I enterred the room, someone had the AC set to 50 degree. It was so cold that I had to turn on the heat for a while. I fell asleep early in the room, and woke up around 9:30 PM - I felt the room shaking with the boom-boom […] noise. I didn't know what was going on. The noise was coming from the room above, and it went on for about an hour any time someone walked (or stomped?) upstairs. "Best on a budget"
Son and daughter-in-law live at the end of the green line near Cleveland Circle and Boston College. We go once a year to visit them and have tried various types of affordable lodging (i.e. bed-and-breakfast, hotel) and this is the best we have found so far. We buy a one-week rail pass (Charlie Card) for $18 and can get anywhere in the city within 2 […] blocks of the hotel. Outside doors are nice. Rooms were clean, cool (in the summer), and included a free hot breakfast every morning. The only thing we wish we'd had was a swimming pool. It was the best we've found so far for the money. Very close to Boston College Staff very nice and helpful with a couple questions we had during our stay. I would recommend informing your staff that the average taxi ride to and from the airport is $45-50. Upon arriving I ask front desk staff if that was typical fee and she said more like $25-30. I felt like I had been taken by cab driver only to find […] out from Boston College staff that what I had paid was normal. Would normally not have selected a accommodation with exterior doors Room nice and spacious Bath room marginal... there was rott on the door and a window that would not open and no vent fan creating a steam filled bath and room that made everything damp. "Desperate need of a renovation."
The room has old furnishings and carpet. The A/C unit very loud. Paid through expedia and at checkout the clerk confirmed this but days later I found out that the clerk still charged my credit card. "Perfect for quick trip"
Check-in was about a 10 minute wait - very reasonable. The clerk mentioned they were sold out for the night and said our 2 double bed room was ready. Our reservation clearly stated 2 queens. She changed the room type quickly. Parking was easy too. The tub in the bathroom creaked when I moved around in the shower, though. it was clean, quiet and comfortable, which is what we needed after a long day at the hospital and close to go back again the next day. "Wonderful visit to Boston!"
The staff were very pleasant and helpful--got a call in the room a few minutes after arrival to check that everything was ok--thought that was a nice touch, and recommended a terrific delivery restaurant for us one night. The room was clean and comfortable and the whole place looked well kept /painted /landscaped. We had 2 different rooms for the two nights. The first one had a king size bed that disturbed our sleep...we felt every move our partner made. also, the toilet stopped up and a non-darkening shade let the early morning light shine on our faces. My kids and I go to Boston every April vacation. This was our first stay at the Best Western. The rooms were clean and updated and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were supposed to check out Friday morning of the lockdown after the bombings. The staff allowed us stay and held our room if we needed to spend another night. When the lockdown was […] lifted sometime after 6:00 pm, we decided to drive home to Maine. We were only charged for the movie we rented. I will not stay at this hotel ever again..Very overpriced for the condition of the room. Room was not very clean and had a smell to it. Curtains were dirty. We thought the room we were getting wasn't going to have a microwave or mini fridge because we saw that somewhere online but when we got in there was a wet bar with sink, mini fridge & microwave so we were happily surprised. "Freezing in Boston"
We arrived on a snowy night to the hotel which had not been plowed or steps shoveled. Totally understood as it was still snowing (8 in); however, it was not easy to walk. Upon check-in, we were given a room that we had to hike to (in the snow) with little directions. Nothing closer? It didn't seem as though the 'house was full'. In fact, the front desk […] assistant finally had to leave his post (begrudingly) to point to where we were to find our room. Excellent customer service. I especially appreciated the complimentary parking (most places in and within 15 miles of the Boston charge exorbitant amounts for parking).
