"Close to Boston College, basic but good value"
Chose this hotel taking my son to orientation at Boston College. Expensive for what it is: a motel. Worn carpet, outdated furniture, noisy AC. But the room was clean, the staff was great, free parking, a few min walk to T station, free WiFi, no resort /misc. fee add-on, free breakfast, small kitchenette with fridge & microwave. Took the T to the downtown […] Boston & the aquarium about 30 min, very convenient. 10 min to BC or BU. No need to find parking which is expensive in Boston. Good Thai, Mexican, Spanish tapas restaurants, convenient stores one block away. Overall good value. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The worst hotel experience"
I reserved a room with two queen beds for three adults to stay in the room. In the reservation I was clear that I would be checking in late-past 1:00 AM. When I arrived with the other two adults, we were told that there was only one room available and that it had one king size bed. I was told there was nothing that could be done, the decision had been […] made by the hotel management earlier in the day and there were no other rooms. I needed to be at a conference in the next 4 hours and there were no other hotels in the immediate vicinity so we took the room and one of the adults slept on the floor. We were not given blankets, sheets or other comfort items for this sleeping arrangement even though they were very aware that there were three adults requiring bed space. I will never book with Best Western again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best way to see the city"
We were taking a family vacation to Boston and I wanted to find a hotel that included parking. We planned to use the subway for all of our sightseeing and leave the car parked. This hotel was the perfect find. It sits between two subway stops, each about a 3 minute walk. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff is amazing and the daily […] breakfast has plenty of choices for everyone. And, I got a great price through Expedia. SCORE! Best value in Boston. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very good but we had a problem"
Location, affordability, staff (very nice, polite, professional) were very good at this Best Western. We loved the ability to park (for free) in their lot, and their location right next to the "T" is a big plus. The neighborhood is residential, appears (and is) safe to walk, and Harry's Bar is right down the street. Free wifi and breakfast is included. There […] is no pool. As a point of reference, Fenway Park (and Boston University East) is about 1.5 miles away (20 minutes on the "T") When we arrived we were told the hotel was fully booked. Our first room was room 523, which had an adjoining room. Unfortunately, the adjoining door didn't lock, so we moved to room 525 (not the adjoining room by the way.) Room 525 seemed fine, until we realized that the air conditioner wasn't cooling. One of the staff members came to our room, tapped on a valve and it started working. The next day, we were out all day sightseeing. When we came back to our room, once again the air wasn't working. This time it was a different problem, and to make a long story short, with a fully booked hotel, the best the staff could offer us was 2 fans. Our room hovered around 80 degrees all night long. In the morning, we moved to Room 405, which had no problems, and we spent our last night at the hotel there. Management agreed to compensate us for the inconvenience, and we are scheduled to stay there two more times this year, in August and October. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Staffs were very helpful and kind. The room was clean and the breakfast were ok. It helped us save money and time. I wish they had an electronic water boiling pot. My family enjoyed staying there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK place to stay and save some money"
OK place to stay, it was clean and quiet, with satisfactory breakfast (not cooked to order). Window in bathroom stuck, but venting seemed adequate, beds were firm but worked, flat screen TV with cable good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and value in Boston"
Great location, next to T. Super clean and comfy. Staff was pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Boston University Orientation"
Great Value. Close to the T and only several stops to Boston University. Rooms are dated but comfortable. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonably priced, clean, pleasant hotel"
We stayed for 4 days. The room was clean and neat. The hotel staff were very helpful. One of the best features is that it is just one block from a T stop on the Green Line (Washington St.). The hotel had ample parking, so we parked the car when we got there and then took the T everywhere we needed to go from that point on. There was NO additional parking […] fee! And the rate also included breakfast, which was quite decent (bagels, yogurt, cereal, eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, juice, and coffee). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location to Boston colleges"
We just got back and enjoyed our two night stay. It was a very comfortable suite, clean and had two tv's. Very comfortable for three people. There was a separate living room area and a full kitchen, although we didn't use it. The only negatives were that the doors in Room 308 - the bedroom door and bathroom door stick, and they were very hard to pull […] shut. Also sound proofing isn't the best since I could hear my neighbors talking and showering. All in all, I found it comfortable, convenient and priced right. The girl at the front desk was lovely, I forgot her name but she is a pretty blonde girl. We will definitely return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Overpriced for what it is..."
... in a city with very few decent, affordable hotels. Expected a much more up-to-date hotel for this amount of money. Room and infrastructure reminded me a lot of much cheaper hotels along the road. Breakfast was poor (something you would expect in hotels half the price of this one) and moreover we had the bad luck of having to share the breakfast […] room with some 50 schoolchildren, who also turned the rooms into noisy school playgrounds in an otherwise quiet neighborhood. It's location looked good on the map but with the very slow Boston trams, it takes a long time to get to the city center. Parking facilities are good and staff was friendly though. "Good location if you are visiting Allston."
Relatively clean. Air conditioning was very loud, effected sleep. Breakfast was pretty gross for a gluten free person. They claim to care about the environment and washing towels every day, but they took ours even though we hung them up as they ask. It is all about location, and this motel meets our needs.Genuine Expedia guest review
"free parking was nice"
Was nice to have free parking and park just outside our room. The door stuck terribly so was hard to open from either direction. It looks like they are making updates so they are at least taking care if the facility.Genuine Expedia guest review

"No hot water"
No hot water!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
In general, it was a good experience, although I do have a couple of complaints. I asked the front desk on the very first day to have maintenance come and oil up a VERY squeaky bedroom door and they never came in the 6 days we stayed there. That was a little annoying. Also, I asked the front desk person to set up a taxi for us at 6AM day of departure […] which he assured me had been done. But alas, no taxi showed up at the time. Luckily, another one was hastened and it showed up within 10 min. In a city the size of Boston, you would think they would offer a free shuttle to the airport, considering the cost of the room! Or at least make sure the call for a taxi gets made. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"basic comforts available, no frills"
This hotel is clean and comfortable. Cons- No frills- no restaurant, so had to walk a block in the heavy rain at dinner time. Far away from city center, $25 for cab ride to Harvard square. Dripping shower. Outdoor walk to lobby up a steep slope. Pros- comfortable bed, clean room, ample breakfast, coffee in lobby, free wi-fi, free parking. Friendly staff. It's a quiet and beautiful neighborhood, the staff are very nice, the rooms are clean, and it's close to the green line train which connects between city center and Boston College.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Supply and Demand"
I understand the theory of supply and demand so I get that prices rise as demand dwindles...BUT...to pay $249 a night for an old Best Western room is really outrageous. The bathroom is small and desperately needs remodeling, the carpeting shows wear and tear from many previous guests, and there weren't enough outlets for charging devices. I have stayed […] at side-of-the-road accommodations that were in much better condition than the Brighton Best Western. This MOTEL has a monopoly on rooms for guests wanting to be near Boston College. If any other rooms were to become available, this Best Western would be out of business. "Hotel stay worth U$ 90 vs $ 380/night"
This was the only hotel with rooms available reasonably located near to our son's commencement ceremony. There are many Best Western hotels that I have stayed during my motorcyle trips around the USA in much better condition and appeal than this one. It would of been ok if it was located in the middle of nowhere but not in Brighton, 15 mins away from […] downtown Boston. It is a Road Side Motel in a City setting. Manager Micheal was very accomodating and professional. Rest of staff was very welcoming and helpful. Hotel is 2 blocks from B Line. Very good restaurants right on same corner. "strong scent in the room"
This hotel met my expectations, but I had to request a room change due to the overpowering scent in the first room. I looked everywhere to find the source, and the only thing I could possibly attribute it to is a disc in the ceiling of the entry/kitchenette. The second room had a fainter but still intrusive scent. For this reason alone, I wouldn't stay […] here again. If you like, or don't mind strong perfumy odors, this motel is a good choice. I stayed in room 202, and it was very quiet. "Comfortable 1 night stay"
Overall, this was a great hotel: friendly staff, very clean rooms, comfortable. We were visiting my brother who attends Boston College, and the location was very convenient for this, though not too convenient for getting into Boston. The only critique I can think of is that at the continental breakfast, there was not nearly enough seating for all of […] the guests that stayed to eat. People had to leave to sit on the steps outside. Fine in the nice weather we had, but not ideal! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Satisfactory for short stay"
Stayed just one night for convenience after seeing the Pops. The room was too warm and turning the heater dial to off didn't really help. Otherwise it was quite satisfactory. Check in was quite fast and efficient.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our stay didn't begin well, when we arrived, exhausted from a 7 hour drive, to find no one in the lobby to check us in. After about 10 minutes --and a phone call to the main Best Western number-- the receptionist, who is apparently also the maintenance person at night, finally arrived. She was then very efficient. We had requested two beds but the room […] had one king. There were no other rooms available, so my daughter and I shared. The room itself was large, clean and had a microwave and fridge. Very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, with lots of options, including yogurt and hard boiled eggs in addition to the usual carb overload. Really appreciated the free parking too. All in all it was fine, once we got in, although we had to share a bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The condom wrapper ruined it."
When I walked in the room, I was pleasantly surprised that the room seemed to have been renovated at least within the past 2 or 3 years or so. As I stepped out of the bathroom I noticed an open condom wrapper next to the bed in the corner. Housekeeping must have missed it. That was it for me. I was grossed out. I probably wouldn't go back here because […] of that. I also didn't realize when I booked that this is a motel. I wasn't comfortable having my room door exposed to the street, especially in Brighton. It was nice but when we checked in we were told they could have given us a better rate than hotels.com. It seems like hotels.com does not give the best rates according to this hotel. "Comfortable, clean & close to Boston College"
I stayed here for two nights while attending events at Boston College. I had not stayed in a Best Western for years, but this hotel was close to BC, had decent reviews and free parking, so I went for it. "Far from fancy but good price-value quality."
Hotels in the Boston area are expensive. This Best Western University was the most convenient hotel in the zone and it proved to be a good alternative. Very well located and its rooms had good space. The breakfast was regular. All in all I would recommend it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location with free parking and breakfast"
Very nice but the heater was broken in the room and there was a little too much noise. Stayed many times and it is well priced but need to have heaters working when it is 40 degrees outside otherwise would have given a 4.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked this hotel for our visit with friends in Brighton Center, and for that purpose it was very convenient. This is not a high quality hotel, but there is nothing wrong with it. All the room entrances are outside, and it's right off of Comm. Ave, which means the actual traffic outside the hotel is minimal. Additionally the Green Line runs just […] steps from the hotel, which was very convenient for going downtown. The front desk staff was very helpful, and they offer a free breakfast in the lobby every morning. The room was very clean, and our only complaint was some sort of mechanical humming that filled the room day and night - it sounded like a giant fan or generator in the walls. Consequently this potentially quiet room hummed and vibrated all night. I think it was just luck of the draw - we drew a room that happened to be next to a generator or central air unit. Otherwise, everything was to our satisfaction. You definitely get what you pay for at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to the T and decent restaurants."
When I made the reservation I had no idea where the hotel was. I was looking for something nearish to BU. It was right on the T and easy to get to BU and to downtown Boston. "Excellent hotel $& close to "T" (rail car)"
Beautiful room, although bed way too soft. Paid a lot more than usual, I'm certain because of time of year. Was in Boston for BU parents weekend. The T (train) runs every few minutes and brings you everywhere! It runs fom Boston college to the government center - the green line. So grateful we were able to park at hotel and not have o deal with traffic […] or parking. The staff was a commuting & extremely pleasant. I'd go here again in a heartbeat. If you're interested in shopping, you can take the T directly to Newbury street--an incredible mile ling shopping area. "nice hotel with a non-working heater at boston!"
We stayed here 2 nights, the heater was not working first night, and boston is a cold city! we called them they said they cannot do anything, no help at all!
