This hotel was perfect for me and the price was excellent. This was off season but I had a great view of the beach. The room was clean and the Internet was fast and free. I liked the price but it was off season and under renovation. This is a good hotel for the price. The staff was friendly and the parking was safe and secure.

I first noticed that many rooms in the hallway had doors that were not pulled completely closed and I was leary about entering my room and knocked repeatedly before entering and was sure to leave the door wide open while I checked all areas of the room to ensure noone was hiding. Upon entering my first assigned room, I noticed the carpet was not clean AT ALL! It appeared as if someone had gotten sick and it was not cleaned. I was moved to another room and advised that the hotel was under going renovations. The sagging mattress was none to comfortable and there was visible holes in the bedspread from apparently someone whom had smoked in the room previously despite it being a non-smoking room. My hopes would be that after the renovations, this may be a worthy place to stay.

When I originally booked this hotel it was because of the price and great location by the beach, but I did not expect much. When my new husband and I got there we were happy to find friendly faces. They helped us find places to visit while we were there also. It was no five star hotel and other comments talked about a bad smell, but I enjoyed every minute of it and my room did not smell bad. It had that hotel smell, but that's to be expected. Housekeeping was sure to freshen anything that needed it. Breakfast was lacking a lot because of renovations, but by summer it will be great. Soon it will be a Hampton Resort also so that says it all. We had the best time ever while we were there!

We stayed at this motel the week-end after New Years, and it was almost empty. The room was better than I expected. My only complaint was that I could not keep Ice cream in the mini-fridge (husband likes ice cream at night). I love the line in the shower for hanging up wet towels and probably bathing suits in the summer.

Dates of stay: December 25-27, 2008 While I understand that the hotel is going through a renovation, I was not pleased with the fact that we were the only ones in the hotel and our room was not clean. For instance, there was a big brown stain on the floor, the furniture was dirty and I believe the sheets and pillow cases weren't changed. The remote control was also broke. The next day I told housekeeping and they cleaned the room very good after that. I would recommend this hotel because once we complained they were right on top of it. It's in a nice location and I believe once the renovations are over it will be really nice.

After reading other comments, I was a bit leary about staying here, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean, service was fine, breakfast was well manned even though there were a lot of people there. They had waffles, grits, biscuits, sausage, eggs(although the eggs were in pancake shapes). Plenty of juices, cereals, bagels, milk, coffee and nice atmosphere. It was right across the street from the beach, so a very short walk but still great location and price compared to the Sheraton that was right on the beach. The only slight complaint I have was the bed...I am very particular about my beds as I get older! It was just a bit soft. Overall very nice stay and I would stay there again.

If your needs are simple, this is the place. The room was clean, had everything necessary to support my young sons and I (refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine). It is across the street from the beach and just down the road from the NC Aquarium. My only problems were that dogs larger than 30 pounds are not permitted (mine dog is 70 lbs.); and that my bathroom smelled like cigars when I checked in. I ran the fan for a wihle and that did the trick, but it was odd considering that it was a non-smoking floor. I recommend heading into Beaufort for meals... nice fishing town with some good restaurants (Beaufort Grocery is really good).

1. One person working the front desk at the height of both check-in and check-out times. Waited in line both times to get in and out. 2. My room was less than stunning: - No room darkeners which resulted in a parking lot light shining in my face all night - The air conditioner sounded like a train was coming through my room. - Water pressure was terrible - The desk did not have a view of the TV.....huge pet peeve of mine. The TV was around the corner and behind a wall from the spot the desk was. - The room just had that overall dingy feeling to it. The mattresses were obviously old, the towels had their stains, the bathroom caulking had black spots, the refrigerator was kind of dirty, etc....just not super clean. - I was given one bar of tiny facial soap for my shower. when I say tiny, I mean TINY. It was non-existent after my 5 minute shower. Bring your own. 3. It's a pretty good hike to the beach from the hotel if you plan on having a cooler, kites, bags, etc. I didn't get offered a beach wheel barrow at any point so I will assume they don't have them to give to you. However, if you are just going to grab a towel and a back pack the walk is all good. 4. I've stayed at the Sheraton across the street previous to this stay. If you have the means, I seriously suggest staying there instead.

This hotel had a nice breakfast buffet which included Belgian waffles, muffins, eggs and sausage. The room was clean and the pool was small but nice. It is located right across from the beach, but you need to cross a busy 2 lane road (about 45mph) which could be tricky with small children and all of your beach goods. Bed was fairly comfy and the AC worked great. With a small couch and chair it also included a small fridge and microwave. I would stay here again if I couldn't find a decent rate right on the beach.
